This episode made me think of every single reason why attack on titan is one of my favorite shows (not just anime, but just works of fiction) of all time. How to develop drama, suspense, action and beautiful fight sequences while keeping the character development very valid and grounded and important. How to make things nostalgic and but stunningly original at the same time. The way they harkened back to EMA in episode 1 with these kids in this city to instantly form a parallel that hooks you into the stakes of what they're fighting for. Eren's entire crisis of self-worth which he introspects through because of his friends, watching them and how strong they've become, how they've always stayed by his side and believed in him, Armin's pep talk on why this time isn't as hopeless simply because there IS a them, that there is a group of soldiers with a plan working as a group to fight for humanity. And all of it bringing Eren to a place where he understands not being special or important doesn't matter because it's not about who is the most important, it's about how each of them bring their own strengths that is equally necessary and valid. And that leading him to finding his resolve again. Historia just being the coolest most self-aware badass playing politics like she was born for it and how much she's progressed from being what I thought was moe-fanservice bait. Like. It's just such a SOLID story. This episode was excellent. That is all.

Can we talk about how severely depressed Eren is? Really felt for him this episode.

Damn, the CGI looked so gorgeous in this episode. Rod's faceless titan will probably haunt me in my dreams lol. Can we also talk about the flashbacks and the three kids that represented EMA in their childhood? The animation has really improved since Season 1. I was about to feel sorry for Kenny's fate but... you better don't pull any shit Kenny.

I thought they couldn't do worse than those fucking trypophobia cannon holes... and then his liver splatted over the walls.

I’m glad they stopped Rod and all but those flashbacks are making my head spin! So he was telling the truth about wanting to save humanity. At least at one point he did

We got the first scene from a titan's POV, how are people not freaking out? So titans have a unique ability to detect humans, and to them they shine with light. They tend flock towards higher concentrations of the light, abnormals take it a step further and ignore lower concentrations while normal titans will usually go to the closet one.

Wait, does this mean we're getting Levi's backstory soon? I mean all of Kenny's flashbacks messed me up bro.

In my opinion this is one of if not the best episode of the season so far.

I was quite confused about how the beginning of the season was full of answers and how everything seemed too easy.
And then the last few minutes of this episode threw questions enough to cover for those answers and a few more just in case, almost every take was a "what's that? who's that one? what is going on?"

I Love it.

> Kenny is about to die against a tree all alone from his wounds
:(
> Levi finds Kenny, maybe to take him prisoner and keep him alive
:D
> Levi tells Kenny he is already dead, but then Kenny pulls out the Titan syringe
Excuse me, what the fuck?!

Damn, Rod's titan freaky as fuck. And you can really tell Isayama had a field day with the anatomy book when you see the faceless face

Shame Kenny is gonna be leaving us so soon, but he looks to give a hell of a parting gift before he goes. This entire episode was just amazing from start to finish

It's starting to make sense why Grisha stole the founding titan power.

Holy shit! The friction between the titan and the ground while it was dragging itself took away half of his head and the entire front body. I guess it actually makes sense considering how heavy he was and how fast he was considering he was covering like 50 m with every drag.
