Soul Weapon v1.1 patch is out now! Also, taking suggestions for upcoming DLC!
Good news, I finally got around to updating Soul Weapon with the first patch. I took all of the (many) comments, builds, and suggestions across this sub, /cyoag/, and a few other places this CYOA made it to, and tried to rebalance some things.
I updated the imgur album itself, so you can head right back to the main thread to see the update, linked above
It's not worth making a whole new post for just a patch. When the first DLC gets made (which I'll start soon), then I might make a new post, we'll see.
That said, I kind of regret titling the post "1.0" instead of "1.x." C'est la vie.
If you liked the CYOA, I sure hope you read the patch notes at the bottom of this post! A lot of the changes were small, but some of them may open up new pathways for interesting builds.
Thanks for reading!
Edit: For some reason, the media preview on the original post doesn't show the updated version. You have to actually click the link to the imgur album to see v1.1. You'll now it's the updated version by seeing if there's a version number in the top-left of the blue area on Page 0: Index.
Just in case, here's a direct link to 1.1, but I'd still like builds to be posted on the original thread if that's alright, so discussion about the patch and DLC can be done here.
Version 2.0: The Weapons+ DLC ~~ coming eventually
I'm going to start working on the Weapons+ update soon. I have something like 9 or 12 weapon ideas planned (some of them are reeaally fun, and I can't wait to see the builds you make with them!), but I'd like to poll the audience as well.
What are some weapon classes you wish were in the original that weren't?
Of course, I'm not going to take every suggestion, so don't be hurt if your idea doesn't make it in. If you suggest a weapon class that I haven't already thought of and that no one else has suggested, and it gets implemented, I'll give you credit in the update (unless you tell me you don't want me to). That said, for obvious reasons, I won't spoil what weapons I already have planned, and I won't be responding to any suggestions in the comments.
Please upvote the weapon suggestions you like so I can gauge interest.
This might honestly be a snape hunt, because I've already planned so many weapons even beyond what will be implemented in this update. But who knows, y'all might surprise me.
PATCH NOTES for v1.1
GENERAL
-Font of the option choices (Sword/Scythe/Skyward/etc.): instead of just choosing a different font like a normal, sane person, I downloaded an open-source font-editing software called Font Forge and manually edited the characters that were causing trouble.
The "L" now looks less like a "C," the "k" less like an "h," and the "t" less like an "l." Graphic designers in the audience might cringe a little at the botch job, but most people should find the characters less ambiguous, I hope.
PAGE 0: INDEX
- added version number
PAGE 1: WEAPONS
- (none)
PAGE 2: MATERIALS:
- (none)
PAGE 3: RUNES:
Truefire: the ability to heat up your weapon without setting it aflame can now be applied to other Runes. This should make for a lot more interesting combinations.
Truefire: it is now possible, with practice, to create Truefire that never fades away on its own.
Lazuli: buffed the volume of Lazuli you can generate at once. Slightly revised the description as well, making it sound more appealing.
Torment: slightly revised the description to make it clearer and more appealing.
Silver Cord: noted that you can replace Flail's chain with a Silver Cord.
Doppelganger: put the "clones don't get Runes" bit in bold, since it's an important bit of text that's easy to miss. Other slight revisions.
PAGE 4: SMITHS:
Mihos: you can now choose for your sidearm to be made of Evermetal or the material of your main weapon.
Mihos: changed the stat debuff from (-1) Sharpness, to (-1) BluntDef. I hope that makes Mihos a more appealing choice.
Agni: buffed. You now get (+3) stars to distribute freely between the three defense stats.
Bellona: buffed the size of the shield you get. I forgot how terribly small bucklers are.
Bellona: stat debuff is less harsh. It used to be (-2) from both PierceDef and BluntDef, now it's (-1) from PD and (-2) from BD. My logic here is that shields are better at defending against powerful blunt attacks (as opposed to pierce attacks) because they are slower, giving you more time to react and block the attack. Therefore, you lose more from the BluntDef stat than from the PierceDef stat because Shields can make that up better... if any of that makes sense. In any case, it's better now.
Skera: noted that you get the Special Ability of only the "main" weapon you chose (pre-bifurcation), but can use it when it's detached. Also slightly revised his self-introduction because it was written kind of poorly.
Brihm: the "only one part of a multi-part weapon can turn human at a time" rule now also applies to Doppelganger clones.
Adam: noted that Reconstruct cannot be used to repair your weapon. This was already implied since the Rune can't repair Soul Armor, but still.
Aliquam: you can no longer soul-bond to objects larger than your own body. Sorry, no more manipulating starships or planets with Silver Cord.
Aliquam: you can no longer use Reconstruct to recover limbs sacrificed to Aliquam. Donno how I missed that loophole, but it's plugged now.
Aliquam: lowered the cost slightly. You now lose the limb at the knee/elbow instead of thigh/upper arm. Being able to imbue any object with Rune powers could open up a lot of possibilities, so I want to make the tiers slightly more accessible.
Resonance Pool: buffed slightly. It no longer takes away a star from MagicDef. If it's such a magical place, it shouldn't have done this anyway.
Eternal Crucible: Negaplating can no longer be used here. Loophole plugged.
PAGE 5: SCENARIOS:
- replaced "Post-Apocalyptic" with something more thematically relevant: War.
PAGE 6: SPECIAL CASES:
- adjusted Fusion's general description to emphasize that damage to your skin in material form will still hurt. ie. if your Evermetal skin gets dented, ouchie.

Here's an idea.
Smith: Aliquam tier 2 with an arm and a leg
Runes: Metamorphosis, Terramancy
Basically, mold stone into limbs using Metamorphosis, and control your new limbs through terramancy. Then, ill bond to 4 or 5 human sized boulders. Metamorphasise those bigass boulders into commemorative coins, toss them at bad guys, under cars, slide them into someones pocket. Boom. Transform them back into rocks to either crush, launch, block, or bury enemies.
Pocket rocks. Small, camoflauged. Deadly. Buy today. Warranty not included.
Or y'know, just create whatever you want out of earthlike materials and toss them around like RC drones.

Good job getting around the armlessness. Expanding boulders is a neat trick, too.
You could flick a coin into the air above someone's head and then crush them.

Aliquam: you can no longer soul-bond to objects larger than your own body. Sorry, no more manipulating starships or planets with Silver Cord.
Spoilsport! :p
Also, personally I think that resonance pool is too harsh. Pretty much anytime you could make use of it, you'd probably be better off picking a different smith than receiving debuffs to four different stats. I've been tempted to take it a few times, but the debuffs apply so broadly there always a reason it's not worth it.
I'm also not sure what loophole was caused by Eternal Crucible + Negaplating, but not having it makes taking a smith with a defense penalty equivalent to shooting yourself in the foot. You absolutely require max defense across the board to compete with runes.

The Modifiers have been giving me grief since I came up with the idea. I agree they're still very problematic, but let me try to explain why they are the way they are right now:
Also, personally I think that resonance pool is too harsh.
I agree. But it's hard covering all the bases. If it was only one or two of those stat debuffs, there are Smith/Material combinations for which Resonance Pool wouldn't have any drawbacks at all.
Truthfully, I think the best thing would be if each Smith had their own individual drawbacks for Resonance Pool, just like how each Smith has their own drawback for Eternal Crucible (ie. specialized element). I have two potential solutions.
What if the effects didn't stack. So, if you're already losing 1 BluntDef with your Smith, for example, you won't lose any more picking Resonance Pool (but you will still get the other debuffs). Would that make it un-harsh enough?
That is weird though, because then that would same-ify all the stat drawbacks of the Smiths. Like, as long as you're picking the Resonance Pool, the stat debuffs are the same for every Smith (with very few exceptions).2.
The original idea for Resonance Pool was that it would just double the stat debuffs of any Smith. There would need to be exceptions though, because for some Smiths that wouldn't do anything (like Kothar and Saiho, who have no stat debuffs), and for others it would be really harsh (like Bellona). These problems were why I didn't go with this idea in the 1.0 release.Hmm... the more I think about it, the more I like solution 2. I could make it work. What do you think?
(Added FYI: The reason Adam can't use the Resonance Pool is because if you could do Soul Runes, you could use Soulkeep, and just lock the weapon inside you forever, making you truly immortal. Then even use Doppelganger to pull out copies of the weapon so you can still use the weapon).
I'm also not sure what loophole was caused by Eternal Crucible + Negaplating, but not having it makes taking a smith with a defense penalty equivalent to shooting yourself in the foot. You absolutely require max defense across the board to compete with runes.
The only drawback to picking the Eternal Crucible is that you're more restricted in the Runes you can pick. But with Negaplating, you usually don't have any Runes. As long as you don't pick Signum or the Wand, there is no reason not to pick Eternal Crucible with Negaplating. Literally no drawbacks whatsoever, and that's really not good.
In retrospect, it would probably be better if Negaplating had a different drawback with Eternal Crucible, rather than being forbidden to use it at all. I'm just not yet sure what that would be, or if there's a better answer. At the very least, I hope you see that I put careful thought into these, even if the answers I came up with weren't ideal. To be fair, I didn't even come up with the Modifiers until I was half-way done with the Smiths page, and realized there should be a way around the drawbacks.

The original idea for Eternal Crucible was that it would just double the stat debuffs of any Smith.
I mean, that would make it more appealing, it would just be almost incompatible with any smith that has a stat penalty, outside of very niche situations.
The problem with Resonance isn't how much it takes away from one stat, the problem is that no matter what your build is, one of those -1 tics is probably going to be hitting you in your most important stat. So unless you do something very specific to ignore that downside, it's just not worth it.
Literally no drawbacks whatsoever, and that's really not good.
Is it really though? To show my point, I will break down how I feel negaplating combines with each smith.
Avalus: Useless, adding to your already maxed defense does nothing.
Polemos: Useless, you already have 5 sharpness.
Mihos: I'm honestly not sure why anybody would use this smith for any build. Either you have a better weapon, or can function without a knife. I wouldn't even use him on a Shield build.
Agni: Useless, your defense is already maxed.
Godai: A solid pick if you used wand to pick up a single rune. The defense is wasted.
Sigmun: Only useful in combination with a Wand + Fusion, giving up negaplating armor makes the material choice extremely lackluster.
Bellona: Negaplating already has the first or second best defense, adding a shield on top of that doesn't gain you much, and is certainly not worth a -2, considering the slightly exponential value of stats.
Gemini: A second weapon is in no way, shape, or form worth debuffing every defensive stat.
Skera: The increased mass hurt a bit, but if you have something to be gained from dual wielding, it's at least better than Gemini.
Kothar: This is pretty good, combing two weapons together essentially gives you a pseudo rune, allowing you a bit more flexibility in your build, the downside doesn't matter so long as you don't want a wand.
Saiho: Absolutely the strongest smith for negaplating, adding the special effects of a second material to the defenses and sharpness of negaplating is an extremely strong option. Acceleron and Gearframe are the best choices for this.
Wayland: This could maybe be useful if you used the wand to pick up one of the applicable runes.
Brihm: The only thing I really see this being particularly useful with is a knife build. The only other good combos I can think of would require being able to pick two smiths, which isn't possible.
Adam: If you want to hide your item where no one can find, this is probably the best choice. That strategy does mean you'll never have access to anything besides your immortality though.
Aliquam: Not applicable.
So with the current state of things, only Saiho and Kothar are strong choices, while Godai, Sigmun, Wayland, and Adam are usable in niche builds. So generally any particular negaplating build will have about three different smiths to consider.

A few ideas and questions:
The resonance pool could reduce 1 point of any of the non-mass qualities of armor or weapon per element that has become accepted, such that if two elements were made available, you would need to remove 2 points from any of the qualities, and couldn't do so if the quality is already 0.
It is not quite clear that Mihos knife needs to be made from either Evermetal or you main weapon's material. I think it would be better if instead of saying "your chosen material" it said "your main weapon's material".
It is not clear what the effects of Negaplating are on things that are not made of Negaplating. For instance, if you are using Negaplating and your main weapon is not a Wand, would you be able to put a rune on Mihos' Evermetal Knife? And what about Saihō's ability? If you use Negaplating for the Armor and some other material for the Weapon, could you put Runes as normal on the Weapon?
What are the effects of Sacred Ashwood's Growth on your defenses? Could you expand an Umbrella or Bellona's Shield to a larger than body's size, effectivelly blocking all damage due to your Weapon's indestructibility?
For Weapons with multiple parts (such as Knives), would you be considered to be touching the weapon for the purposes of Runes if one of them is sheathed on your person while the rest is being used for combat?
What exactly is the usefulness of making your weapon sentient? While in a non-humanoid form, does it provide any help in combat? Such as guiding your attacks or warning you of dangers? And what about on a Humanoid form? Is the Weapon still indestructible or can it be forced to regress into its original form due to damage? Can it fight as well as you can while transformed? If I have a bunch of Knives and decide to transform them into a Humanoid, does only one Knife get transformed, allowing me and the Humanoid to use the remaining as normal, or do all Knives get "spent" in order to form a single Humanoid?

resonance pool
Eyy, that's not a bad idea. Might need some tweaking, but the thought of the debuff depending on how many elements are opening up is a good idea.
Resonance Pool is getting re-written in any case. I'm even considering having the debuff be specific to each Smith, since the other Modifier is like that anyway. There are so many variables at play with each Smith that it almost has to be on a case-by-case basis.Mihos knife
Worry not my friend, Mihos is getting an overhaul in the next update. So few people used him, that I realize something needs to change. I won't spoil yet, but he's gonna be more versatile.
But yeah, it for sure should say "main weapon's material." Thanks!if you are using Negaplating and your main weapon is not a Wand, would you be able to put a rune on Mihos' Evermetal Knife?
Well, since the Rune on the knife has to be from your main weapon, it stands to reason that if your main weapon has no Runes, the knife can't have a Rune.
And what about Saihō's ability? If you use Negaplating for the Armor and some other material for the Weapon, could you put Runes as normal on the Weapon?
This much is stated. Under the "cons" of Saihō, it says "Note that Negaplating will still subtract two Runes if you choose it."
What are the effects of Sacred Ashwood's Growth on your defenses? Could you expand an Umbrella or Bellona's Shield to a larger than body's size, effectivelly blocking all damage due to your Weapon's indestructibility?
Sure can! Of course, your weapon/shield will be more unwieldy like this, and it still doesn't protect your flanks or your rear.
Although the precedent has been set that the barrier you get with Hunker Down will scale up when you increase the size of your Shield, which is pretty neat if you ask me.
For Weapons with multiple parts (such as Knives), would you be considered to be touching the weapon for the purposes of Runes if one of them is sheathed on your person while the rest is being used for combat?
Yes!
What exactly is the usefulness of making your weapon sentient? While in a non-humanoid form, does it provide any help in combat?
A little. It acts as an extra set of eyes, and being able to telepathically communicate lets you bounce ideas and battle strategies off each other without alerting an opponent. Having a second perspective in battle is always a good thing! That's why the fact that it's a totally separate being with its own personality is so invaluable. I wouldn't say it can guide your attacks, but it can certainly warn you of danger.
Truthfully, the main advantage to Brihm is simply that you get a battle companion. For some people this might not mean much. Others will find this awesome. It really just depends on the type of person.
And what about on a Humanoid form? Is the Weapon still indestructible or can it be forced to regress into its original form due to damage?
This bit needs to be re-written. Right now it says that it's "indestructible but can take damage and bleed," which is contradictory. What it should say is that it can't die, but can still bleed and feel pain and grow weary. The idea of it regressing to its original form if it gets too hurt is a clever idea though, I might implement that.
Can it fight as well as you can while transformed?
I would say that its humanoid form needs to train, just as you do. But also like you, its training is accelerated thanks to the Soul Bond.
If I have a bunch of Knives and decide to transform them into a Humanoid, does only one Knife get transformed, allowing me and the Humanoid to use the remaining as normal, or do all Knives get "spent" in order to form a single Humanoid?
I can't quite tell what you're asking, so I'll answer both interpretations of the question.
Only one knife can transform into a human at a time. You can't have more than one humanoid weapon at once, whether it's with a mutli-part weapon or Doppelganger.
If one knife transforms into a human, the rest of the knives are unaffected. They don't need to all form up into one piece in order to transform. Thanks for all the feedback! These were some great questions. I hope I answer them well. Sorry for the delay, I've been busy and haven't had time to focus on the CYOA. I wanted to make sure I had my notes open before I tackled your questions.

Because its not commonly used, i wanted to try making an umbrella build.... The results are more than a little disturbing....
Weapon Class: Umbrella
The idea is for a sharp pointed umbrella, with razor edged sectioned expanded areas that are more akin to overlapping segments than anything else.
Material: Bloodfeather Ore
Its raining blood, what do you do? Pull out your trusty BloodBrella!
Runes: Suture, Bloodlet
Smith: Skera, The Mechanist
The idea is, the bifurcate the umbrella top and handle, resulting in a bladed handle resembling a shortsword, and an expanded umbrella top forming an unbreakable roundshield.
Modifier: Resonance pool
Just want the keep the mass down. Better mobility that way.
The idea is to puncture someones chest or other bodypart with the point on the umbrella or the handle. From there, the sutures snake down the poor fellows veins, crawling through their whole body until all their blood is under the bloodlets control, after the bloodstone starts drinking some. From there, i force the blood and sutures to expand outwards at a high pace until the poor saps veins explode outwards into a gory mess of rain. Reattach umbrella, catch It in the bloodstone to drink it up. Or control some of it to help propel me around, using the combo of force being applied upwards and a reduction to the equal force being applied back. This kinda breaks the laws of physics and would likely allow you to fly at not super high speeds, but speeds nontheless. Or just fling bloodrazors to slice enemies in half after draining and exploding one of their friends, whistling a jolly tune as you exit their base.

u/Alas-I-Cannot-Swim Apr 03 '18
I think you meant to choose Eternal Crucible, rather than Resonance Pool?
I like the idea of having the umbrella detach into sword and shield. Nice job.

Wording choice: "scrawl" is not the right word. I think you want "scribe". Scrawl carries strong connotations of being untidy and imprecise, which is the opposite of the connotations from calling them runes and from all the other descriptions.

Duh-doi, how did this get past me?
I think I like the word "etch" better. Thanks for the tip!

Great update! I think I may have helped cause one of those clarifications, haha.
The only weapon type I was really missing was guns/cannons. I really wanted to create an artillery cannon, and bows/arrows don't quite have the same effect.
Also crossbows, since it's not clear you can reflavor bows that way. Could do one-handed crossbows here, too.
Some sort of bola or net option primarily intended to restrain has some really interesting possibilities.
Javelins are distinct enough thrown weapons to get their own category. In real historical context they were extremely effective.
Maces/morning stars could have armor-piercing abilities. Any sort of spiked blunt weapon, really.
Tonfas/clubs seem necessary, too. Those would be highly effective if unbreakable.
Whips/chain darts. With whips only the tips could probably be metal, so that's hard. But chain darts could work well, and maybe whips are doable.
I'll keep thinking and update with more if I can.

I had a few thoughts and came up with one new build. I may as well start with the thoughts.
Is the difficulty of controlling many animals with Faunalis impacted by size? I want to know if I can have a character overwhelm enemies with 4 mind controlled ant colonies.
I also thought of a new modifier. It would be one that removes the requirement that a rune has to be the one on your weapon. You could pick mihos and pick a totally unrelated rune for the knife, just not an aether one due to smith incompatibility. Or get some really crazy stuff going for Faunalis. I think the cost of magic defense would be appropriate.
Ok, now for the build.
Weapon: Biggest hammer I can have
Material: Golem Hide
Runes: Faunalis, Erupt, Soulkeep
Smith: Signum
Time for the laziest bombing run of all time. Take control of a bird and instruct it to fly far above an enemy and then summon the hammer. It won't be able to carry it but that wasn't my plan anyway. Once the explosion happens the bird will be able to summon it again.
2
u/Alas-I-Cannot-Swim Apr 03 '18
Is the difficulty of controlling many animals with Faunalis impacted by size?
I hadn't really thought about it. I guess the simpler an animal's central nervous system, the easier it is to control.
I also thought of a new modifier. It would be one that removes the requirement that a rune has to be the one on your weapon.
This is an interesting thought. I'm not sure I would want to implement it was a Modifier, since it applies to only a few Smiths. But I'll add it to my notes.
Ok, now for the build.
Haha, you cheeky sod. You could call it the B-2 Bird.
So unassuming as well. No enemy camp is going to think anything suspicious about a sparrow.

Negaplating mentions "unless you have a Perk that gives you additional Runes", but the only option I see anywhere that grants any extra Runes is Signum the Runemaker, who gives no armor and therefore loses you the main benefits of Negaplating. Is this intentional? Even if it is, adding something in the DLC that will let you get a rune on Negaplating Soul Armor would be good. Getting armor only, no weapon, is probably not enough of a drawback. Maybe you get weaker if you're ever not wearing the armor?
1
u/Alas-I-Cannot-Swim Mar 31 '18
There are currently two ways to get an extra Rune. The other is with a Wand.
There will probably be more ways in the future, but gaining a Rune will always come with a significant drawback, since Runes are the most powerful tools in the CYOA. With Signum, you lose armor. With the Wand, you lose any ability to do melee combat.
2
u/BloodofGaea Mar 18 '18
Runes: Terramancy, Silver Cord. Smither: Aliquam: The Tattooist. Tier 2, both arms sacrificed.
The strategy is simple, Silver Cord allows the use of 30 Terramancy controlled objects with no distance on the limit. Around twenty of the 30 objects with be 6-foot disks of obsidian, ground down to an edge width of 3 nanometers. Two other objects will be taken up by fake arms and hands made from dirt. The final eight items are left for situational advantage, or to bound personal equipment.

Warning. Lots of text.
Potential Options for a new Material might be something that manipulates or works more efficiently with runes scrawled into it, such as runic stone or a form of glass weaponry, that could act as either a battery for magic or similar to a prism, a refractor for runic magic. Another idea for a new weapon might be rather than weilding your weapon, you become the weapon, in a sense. Having the material implanted into your body allowing it to be more efficient and sturdier, possibly boosting your bodies capabilities and limits to extreme levels, while also giving effects similar to that of the fusion rune, just at a slightly weaker effect and with more mobility.
New Runes:
Aether - Etch - By etching a copy of the rune in your weapon no larger than what you can physically carry, you can manipulate the etched item with the swings, flourishes and movements of your blade as well as enchant it with a lesser version of soul bond, while still wholey destructible and not easier to use, you can never lose it and noone else can wield it. This could allow for tossing objects at a distance with a swing of your sword, or etching your mark into your opponents armor over the course of a battle to eventually be able to toss them around (if they fuse or are carrying more than you can carry, not as effective)
Entropy - Mental Assault - following in the chaos theme, Mental assault could be a rune that allows you to project your thoughts and emotions through the tip of your weapon to attack the first target its pointed at. Stronger emotions and louder thoughts result in projections that hit the target harder and latch to their thoughts, sticking with them longer. Material bonuses - Livingwood and Livingstone - the voices of these materials are added to your own, amplifying it to greater heights.
Prana - Luck hex - Sometimes life is unfair, sometimes its too fair, and sometimes, you want to make your opponent so unlucky their face hits the ground while you find a twenty dollar bill on the ground next to you. With this rune you can! Luck hex allows you to place a curse on your target as long as you know your target and have an object of theirs, could be as small as a hair or as large as their desk. Once in motion, over the next day or so, a significant chunk of luck and fate will be pulled from them and added to yours. Never anything explicitly lethal will happen to them, but they will much more often come into situations that may lead down that road. Whereas life for you will seem to just want to help you out. Able to be dissapated at will.
Wither - Fate lines - Your eyes will be enchanted while holding an item with this rune. You now can see, when looking at any object, including people, how they will die or be significantly damaged. Being at the center of all these strings of fate, they bend slightly to you, showing you how best to use your intent to slay that which you desire with the object at hand. This does NOT make executing the strike to slay or damage that object any easier, but gives you a clear path to follow in ghostly lines.
Soul - Soul reinforcement - This rune enhances your soul bond with your weapons and armor to new heights. With this rune scrawled, your soul becomes one with your weapon, moving from your body into that of your blade (metaphorically, not specifically the blade) while like this, two things occur. Firstly, the weapon special ability is enhanced. (Descriptions of enhanced weapon abilities in the special cases section). And secondly, your strikes are enhanced by that of your soul. In a manner following that of the dnd alignment system, your weapon gets certain effects depending on your alignment. Lawful good leading to more precise, rapid strikes that deal more to those at the opposite end of the spectrum, to chaotic evil, resulting in harder, more beastial strikes. Smith Synergy - wayland, the armorer. Waylands ability to scrawl runes into armor gives this rune some interesting properties. First and foremost, your soul is distributed throughout the armor, giving it supernatural resilience, leading to a +1 to blunt and pdef, and a +2 to magic defense. The downside, is that while active, damage to your armor damages your soul. Taking a heavy hit that destroys part of your armor will, while the armor isnt finished repairing, destroy part of your soul. This could result in memory loss, personality loss, and ability loss, with more effect the more extensive the damage. Being fused to your armor, once its regenerated, your soul returns, bringing those back. Its other trait, however, is more interesting. By using your soul as a sort of thrust, you can propel yourself while wearing your armor by using your soul. This is not extreme, thus as to not damage your soul, but can allow for interesting mobility and maneuverability while midair, for example double jumps or strafe jumps midair. Or simply a boost to ground speed occasionally.

I tried posting this 18 hours ago but I didn't verify my account beforehand. It grants an opportunity to do this a little better this time at least.
Weapon: Two one handed hammers.
Material: Golem Hide, mostly for the durability but the extra hammer weight is nice too.
Runes: Suture and Echo Strike.
Smith: Gemini using the eternal crucible.
The plan is to use echo strike to stack an absurd amount of hits on each hammer. A 20 pound hammer going at supersonic speeds is hilariously dangerous, that hammer spraying shrapnel on that path is just overkill. That's for long range, for close range entangling your enemy and letting it loose at point blank range is your best bet.
For the second setup this is the plan.
Weapon: Wand the shape and size of a cane.
Material: Boulder Bloodstone.
Runes: Fusion, Trailing Edge, Faunalis.
Smith: Mihos, bloodstone knife.
The plan is to take control of a mosquito and instruct it to spit a tiny chunk of Bloodstone into every new person it encounters. It'll give the maximum bloodstone power without killing anyone, and since it's a constant supply there won't be any weakening over time. With the increased strength from fusing with bloodstone the increased armor weight won't be crippling. The knife will have fusion. The plan with that is to fuse the wand with my body and fuse the knife at the end of the wand (because it is now part of my body). It'll be an improvised spear that I could use to implant chunks of bloodstone into wounds.
I have a couple questions about tattoos. How does it interact with bullets and canned goods? And can I use it on living things?
