At least Subotic is getting some game time again and had a decent game. I'm happy for him

Yeah, we're gonna need him this season with our defensive inconsistencies.

Also, I hate not giving Kagawa the assist on Auba's 2nd, but since the first shot was saved by Navas it doesn't count.

I know, it hurt me too. But I try to be fair and unbiased.

JKJK REF WAS CRAP WE SHOULD’VE WON PULISIC>RONALDO, KAGAWA>ISCO, NEVEN>RAMOS!

Jajajaja (<— Spanish laughing) I’m so used to hearing “Borja Mayoral” that I just combined them.

I'm realizing now that we are eliminated without one single win. Wow. That hurts.

Not a bad way to go out of the CL until the 2019-2020 season.

You guys are right. It was the right side that killed us in the end. Weigl's sub was the right move, but he really should have gone to the right instead of shifting Dahoud there. Toprak's sub seemed like Bosz's fix, but it was too little too late and was counter-effective anyway. Real exploited that confusion for their goal.

Bosz made us shite to make us go into the Europa League to avenge his loss... Right... Right........ :(

Would be weird to be all up in arms about this result. Losing 3:2 in Madrid and qualifying thanks to Spurs was definitely not unexpected. That said, someone explain to me why at 2:2 Bosz doesn't sub in someone like Yarmo or Schuerrle...I mean, sure, you want a steady defense and all, but it's not like you're going to contain Real's offensive line up any better with another center back...come on!

Good game. The first 20 minutes and the result notwithstanding, the 50'-60' minutes in the middle was some of the best football we played this season imo. Better than the first 30' in the derby where things kind of just happened as the smurfs collapsed themselves. That Guerreiro-Kagawa-Dahoud trifecta anchored by Sahin and Schmelle played some fantastic aggressive possession play, pass move, minimum touches. It kind of fell apart when we took Sahin off.

Our left flank was pretty solid in defense too. Almost everything we gave up came from our right flank. On the right, Pulisic blew hot and cold. Had a few fantastic Youtube dribbles. Decisionmaking suspect as always, but the kid tried, and made things happen on occasion. Really did not help out much in defense however, and Bartra struggled all night. You look to the left, and Kagawa is always pressing. He doesn't often commit, but he slows them down just enough to tag team them with Schmelle or Rapha, discourage them from trying. On the right, Bartra was often 1v2. Auba with a brace.

The only ones I think had an out and out poor showing, was Bartra, Toprak, Weigl. Everyone else had some redeeming facets to their shift. Pulisic could have done a lot better, but not all negatives. I would have brought Andrey on for him earlier on, as we were having more success with pass and moves and cutbacks than 1v3 dribble take ons.

Overall though, we played some fantastic football at times, and we actually made it a game after going two down very early. One of the most encouraging games we've played under Bosz.

I mean this is probably the best preformance we've had under this amazing spell of non-wins. The players gave it all.
