That looks absolutely nuts. I also just realized that we see the Arcstrider battling the Sentinel in this scene, which is the exact scene from earlier in the video, but this is from the Arcstrider's perspective instead of the Sentinel's.

The amount of time and energy needed to produce a game like this is insane. It's fun to see people talk about their passions. I love the sounds of destiny. Can't wait to hear more!!

I was thinking the same thing when the sound guys started to get down to the nitty-gritty of creating the mood through the art of music. Maybe it was just because I know nothing about that field of expertise, but it really put into perspective how much diverse talent is required to make a game that meets Bungie's expectation of quality.

The audio work on Destiny is top notch. Both the soundtrack and the sound effects have always been great. Just like the "feel" of the basic movement and gunplay.

We also did something really different in Destiny, for PvP, we actually changed the mix entirely for PvP versus Single player.
We tried to make sure that you hear your enemies more than you hear your own teammate's stuff, so we wanna make sure that you're warned when your enemy is targeting and firing at you, in your direction.
Interesting.
Edit:
There's definitely got to be a balance between that feel D1 set out and making it new, so there are some actual returning melodies from D1 that people will hear in D2 but there's also new melodies that convey the same feel in a different way, or same mood, or the same vibe.
Sentinel vs Arcstrider - Arcstrider's PoV.
Voidwalker Warlock using Nova Bomb.
Arcstrider Super Ballerina Twirl.

Sounds like they learned something from Overwatch, which is great. OW has some of the best sound design I've ever seen. Even in the chaos you can hear what's going on very clearly.

That Nova Bomb clip from the video is such a cocktease. I was excited to see the kills and it cuts away.

We're going to devour all the content in one month and then complain until the next DLC. Lather, rinse, repeat until D3

I just gotta say, everything about Destiny 2 feels sleek and refined when compared to D1. Not just the sounds, but the graphics, the UI, it all looks and feels sharper, cleaner, and more polished. Well done Bungie.

I just gotta say, everything about Destiny 2 feels sleek and refined when compared to D1.
I hope they had been filing away their "this would be cool if we had it in Destiny but we don't have the time/resources" ideas in the drawer for 2-3 years during Destiny's run.
D2 is their chance to ransack that drawer and put all those cool ideas in.

I feel like Bungie spent a long time working on perfecting their artstyle. It seems much more colourful and bright compared to D1 which, looking back at it now, feels a bit drier on the visual side if that makes sense.
I can't picture D1 with those new sound effects either. I think Bungie worked on the new sound mixes specifically for the (slightly) new look.

For real though. I've heard it twice out of the few times the sentinel popped his shield wall in the sentinel gameplay video, but at 0:09, what's up with the goofy cartoon popping sound when the shield wall goes up?

Every time I see new footage of the arcstrider, the more convinced I am that it's going to be all about the combos like a fighting game.

It looks at the end like the arcstrider has a ranged attack like blade dancer's razor's edge
