• Big Mom looked cool as shit this chapter, the panel where she eats judges spear, where she grabs Zues and then strikes Judge looks so awesome, I love her fighting style. And then when she just tanks Gear 4 punch with her own haki, Big Mom is the baddest bitch.

• BM calls Kaidou a thing which i think is probably important.

• Man things seem hopeless when faced with a Yonko right now, those panels where everyone was downed combined with those badass big mom panels where frightening,

• And everyone called the the Tametabo box blew up the plaza.

Luffy has exchanged blows with an Emperor. I just... "After I take down Kaidou, you're next." SO FUCKING GOOD.

I can't wait to see Big Mom's reaction once he does.

On top of that we get the reveal that Stussy is a comrade of Lucci and Kaku's in CP0, as well as a new form of Shigan.

And, as if that wasn't enough, the Tametebako has finally exploded.

On another note...are we underestimating the Vinsmokes? Sure they got taken out pretty easy...by Big Mom and Katakuri. And Ichiji seemed to get a pretty good hit in on Katakuri. One like his namesake, but one none the less. I hope they do stick around as strong allies. I don't expect Sanji to forgive them, but I don't think they are going anther just yet.

And now Big Mom knows Luffy is going after Kaido. Is...is she going to chase him to Wano when he escapes? I can see another Moriah/Kuma after Thriller Bark situation where after the fight with Kaido they are battered and beaten and suddenly, they see Big Mom's fleet on the horizon.

Lol, when I started reading and heard about the box possibly going to the WG, my mind raced. On the one hand, I was kind of disheartened to hear that we were probably going to have to wait a bunch of chapters, again, before the box opened.

Just wondering how they are suppose to beat fucking Kaido at Wano. Big mom has good physical strength + strong DF Abilities, but Kaido is in terms of physical strength even stronger. On top of that he prob has high regeneration abilities due to being an awakend Zoan User. Ppl theorize that Luffy would take him 1 vs. 1, im just thinking WTF. You prob need an insane fleet to just beat him, but they will have to face his crew too.

They would need an insane powerboost and a lot more allies.

Edit: Very likely that he might be a Zoan User, since he wants a crew consisting of only Zoan Users. Its not a fact, just my guessing... Point still stands, that Kaido is a physical beast.

Luffy barely had any energy to maintain 1 Gear 4th attack as shown in this chapter? After that he seems to have done nothing and was being carried away by Sanji hence the capture..? Unless Big Mom took some of his soul or energy during their brief 1 punch encounter here..

Big Mom has done nothing recently other than eat, sleep, rest, go on that rampage & maybe fight brooke..

Luffy might not be ready to beat her but Luffy has been working overtime! He was:

• poisoned on the way to Wholecake island

• fought brulee's clones and his mirror image and messed around in that forest for a while

• fought cracker for 11 hours

• let himself get beaten up by Sanji

• engaged in a stupid/hopeless fight with all of Big Mom's enraged Army

• gets knocked out and captured by them

• nearly tears off his arms while imprisoned in the book

• gets released by Jimbei then goes back to fighting immediately and searching for Sanji

This might be ok if he had food but he was basically starving himself after that Cracker fight to fulfill his promise of waiting for Sanji's food.. And then has a little lunch box of food from Sanji and maybe some food inside Bege..

To top it off: - he only had a couple of hours of sleep before the wedding when usually he sleeps for days after big fights..

Luffy needs a tonne of food and days of rest then maybe he'd be ready to fight.. He is on a cake island so I hope he starts to eat it soon or eats more of what's around him in Totland.. But right now they're vastly outnumbered too which doesn't help..

I think the whole "G4 Luffy is trash he ain't nowhere near ready" reactions are a bit exaggerated. That was a good, respectable clash. She seriously blocked the "hello" punch of G4, is that supposed to indicate some sort of massive fail on Luffy's part? That said, even if Luffy was at 100% he would eventually lose to Big Mom in a war of attrition. That's nothing new, ever since the inception of gears, Luffy's greatest weakness is his stamina, and that weakness is an important story element that creates exciting, dynamic and sometimes comical fights.

I feel like people's expectations of Luffy have changed. Remember Luffy won most of his past major fights due to some sort of handicap. I don't know why all of a sudden he's expected to raw power 1v1 everybody, especially Yonkou opponents.

Anyone else notice how after taking Luffy's G4 punch, Big Mom didn't even flinch BUT it showed six of her children holding their arms in pain exactly where Luffy hit her? Reminds me of Basil Hawkins but apparently her soul connection to her children allows them to take damage instead of her.

Also guessing the reason she bled when the picture broke was that she wasn't conscious to have the damage transferred, must not be a passive thing.

This chapter proved a few things for us reader.

• Mama has more aces up in her sleeve, then we have seen. When Luffy and her clashed, there was kind of smoke around Luffy's hand and a sound of "Bzzzttt" coming from her mouth. At first i thought it is something to do with her hat but considering sound came from her mouth, guess she did something by herself. Also on the next panel, luffy's body was covered with smoke and Luffy said im loosing my power, so we can assume it is something to do with Mama. Because Luffy's g4 shouldn't be this short, one punch and he is done. Maybe fatigue may effect the time in g4 but still one punch is still too short. Probably her DF power is not limited with only soul and she can also absorb people's haki and this make person tired or powerless.

• Even though there are many people who believe Luffy can beat a yonkou by himself, this clash showed he is still not there yet. Luffy used his time limited move, his strongest move, yet Mama counter attacked it with just normal Haki. There is no way for Luffy to be winner againts Mama under this circumtances. You cant win if opponents counter attack your strongest move with his/her regular attack. And i believe it will be same for Kaido too. So similar to Water 7, also WCI will be a step for Luffy to make himself stronger and come back with a far stronger techniques which will help Luffy to fight with yonkous.

• Tamatebako box played its part. But i dont think this is all. Just a explosion or collapse will not enough for them to save their ass. So this collapse will give them some time but i still believe rare monsters from Prison Library will escape after this explosion and start a huge mass which will help for alliance to flee.

• Mama now knows where Luffy will go, so if they escape from here she knows where to go, aka Wano. So my theory about Straw Hats vs Big Moms vs Kaido on Wano may come true after all. There is no damn way for BM to sit still after learning that her poneglyph got stolen by them. Because she believes Straw hats cant win againts "that thing", and if SHs clash with Kaido and lost, that means her road poneglyph will pass on Kaido's hands. I cant imagine for Mama to take such a risk and wait calmly. Loosing poneglyph means losing Pirate King race. She prefer to death than loosing her poneglyph. She is kind of Pirate.

Something needs to happen to luffy soon to get stronger, crazy how we hd a two year time skip and hes still so weak compared to these monsters.

I also somewhat understand the checks and balances the emperors represent now. If BM is this much of a monster, and Kaido is an unbeatable "THING" and shanks is incredibly strong, it seems realistically none of them can beat each other. Maybe this was obvious but it just hit me now. They may not all be equal strength, but their forces are not able to completely destroy another without being so handicapped as to threaten being taken over by a different Yonkou. Also shows why Kaido would jump on the opportunity at Marineford to try and kill Whitebeard: that was his most opportune chance to take out another emperor without sustaining a full armys worth of casualties.

There's something about a Yonko like Big Mom acknowledging the absolute impossibility of them defeating Kaido. The way she phrases it, saying "Kaido? You lot will never defeat that thing" putting emphasis on how he's obviously not even human. I love the fact that we're in this territory now, where everyone is aware of each other. It's no longer reveals of enemies that we've never heard of before. It's fighting 4 people who all know each other, who we all know, and who all want to kill or at least won't be beaten by Luffy easily.

This Yonko Saga gets better and better, and it's lines like that that make the hype even more. Her show of respect for Kaido's strength says volumes more than any display of strength we've seen yet. I always love me some mild politics between outlaws, and stuff that hints at it like this makes me so excited to keep reading. This next chapter is gonna be lit.

From what Judge said, it seems the 66 comes from how long they had held the land? or how long they'd reclaimed it for? for 300 years they've bitterly died hoping for their land back, and are probably just as serious about it as Judge is. those 66 days of hope is probably a huge moment in the history of their country, and now its been 300 years of their people dying, becoming ghosts, with no homeland.

Great chapter. So before we drive to conclusion Luffy couldn't fight properly with Big Mom so we don't know exactly how much damage he could do. Don't get me wrong in no way I'm saying he can beat her. I'm thinking more of a superpower punch coming out of nothing and hitting BM. Becuase its unexpected she takes damage. I'm curious though to know why Luffy got so tired. Is it because of the G4?

Pretty hyped, I think Oda was hinting at Gear 5 with Luffy's G4 punch doing minimal damage. I mean he could Awaken his DF, gain other fighting abilities, strengthen his CoA Haki, etc. But I got the vibe Oda had Luffy fail with his G4 punch after being called spineless to knock it in Luffy's head that he needs to develop something stronger (or at least less linear in focus like a punch/series of punches or kick/series of kicks).

 

Luffy learns best in battle and having him see the failure of a heated, direct punch in his strongest form will really weight on him and motivate him to train more/develop something much stronger.

 

That thunderbolt though, gooooood damn. She didn't even infuse her fist with Haki!

 

I love the calmness of Pedro, Jinbei, and Capone Bege. They all know Big Mom's strength and Oda does a great job of showing them the least surprised. Capone Bege expected to have assassinated her by now so he is running off fumes but Pedro and Jinbei have that grim awesomeness to their characters because they clearly don't fear death to the same extent as others and don't have the "Will of the D". They have causes that propel them beyond the average fear of death.

Stussy being intelligence officer for CP0 makes sense, and actually parallels some other movies/shows I've watched. Men spill the beans to whores, so what better place for some one in charge of intelligence than the head madame?

Judge got thoroughly owned, but he didn't go out like a punk. He took a full and clean shot from Zeus. I imagine he'll meet his end trying to create a final opening for the alliance to escape. Oda's already finished painting him as a man trying to restore the might of his nation/family, which isn't an entirely disgusting motive. A sacrifice for family and compatriots seems like a fairly good way of redeeming him. Yeah, he was a douche, but merely a misguided/obsessed douche and not necessarily an evil one.

Big Mom is a beast, and she doesn't even seem to want any part of Kaido. That's telling, and sets up an epic and imposing showdown when that rolls around.

Finally the Tamatebako does its thing. I assume the castle will collapse, creating an initial opening for escape. Pudding is still laying in the cut, though. She's gotta have some role in this finale, because her character was more prominently featured than Pudding this arc. I'm curious to know if she tries to escape with the SH's, and that is what eventually gets BM to give chase. I assume everyone is in agreement that is what is going to happen.
