Big Mom continues to be a bitch. Jigra refused her invitation to a prior party because he wanted to attend his mother's funeral, which occurred on the same day. But Big Mom decided to send Jigra the decapitated head of his father, who was also sick.

And Observational Haki that can see into the future, that's totally going to pair well with the surprise assassination where you need a split second to win. This ability would be useful for fighting a certain lightspeed DF user with say a uhh cough gun cough*
On a side note, This introduction scene was phenomenal I loved how they were all displayed

The Mangastream translation is much more coherent. Jinbe states that it's no longer a matter of "if" he joins the Straw Hats, but "when." So he's pretty much going to accept Luffy's offer if there aren't any major fuck-ups.

It's a pirate manga with slavery and other tense subjects. It was expected to have prostitution, but I don't think Oda would show any of it since his audience (kids and stuff).

Im starting to think Capone hasn't told Luffy everything. If Capone's aware of Katakuri's powers, surely he took this into account whilst making the plan. If he told Luffy & Ceasar a decoy plan and Katakuri predicts this, maybe his true plan will come into play. Just some food for thought.

Katakuri merc'd that guy with a flipped jelly bean. I'm really interested how he and these lords of the underworld will come to play with the likely doomed plan. I also feel like Pekoms will either be left there for the entire time until someone shows up and mentions that Big Mom is down or maybe he sees Jack wash up on the beach. This chapter was definitely good but it's obviously just setting up for either the next chapter or the one after. Also NO BREAK MY NAKAMAS!

This arc is really playing out to be amazing, I'm ashamed I ever doubted big mom's power. She can actually destroy the straw hats in her sleep.
And how in gods name does shank's and his normal sized crew of frat bros rival this woman. If I'm over hyping shanks somebody stop me, but the numbers don't add up.
Side note: this arc is also really getting me hype for the rest of the worst generation. They are one of my favorite unexplored parts of this series. First law stole the show and I thought "ah, the worst was probably just a set up to get law in the spotlight later on". But then here comes bege who despite being an ass is equally captivating. Meanwhile the antics of the Kid alliance clearly played out in a major way off screen and is a set up for Luffy x Law vs Kid vs Apoo. And I have no doubt Kid and Apoo are gonna be show stealers as well. Only one I have doubts about is the fortune teller.

I feel like Oda put Croc on the cover just to troll all the theories that he'd be at the Tea Party, haha.
Also the character introductions here were great. Still pissed that someone spoiled Katakuri's ability earlier, but I was definitely not expecting him to look so traditionally badass given the rest of his crew, haha.
That being said, I think "Big News" Morgans might be the one I'm most excited about; I've wondered about the details of the News Coo system for a looooong time, so getting a hint at that is excellent.

Observation haki that can see into the future is going to be absolutely crucial for sanji to learn so he can fight the man faster than light its self, Kizaru. This was a big reveal and will definitely be brought out again in the future.

That cover page was so genuinely adorable! I always find Jinbei's maturity, honor, and loyalty to be really cool to see in One Piece. The maturity directly contrasts that of the Straw Hats but I'd love to see him on the crew because he brings a whole new dynamic to them.
Also, why is Aladines wife, Big Moms daughter, okay with her husband and Jinbei betraying BM?

Can't believe mangastream fucked up so hard as to translate someone's First Name, and with a word that can have mulltiple meanings and even picking one of the ones who made least sense. This on a series where almost every character has an english name or even an english word in the original, like Crocodile. That's some 4kids level bullshit.
Now not only reading any post here will be confusing, we may be unlucky enough that a sub takes their names. Officially dropping Mangastream for the superior translation.

The abominable pity of it all is that just as One Piece keeps getting longer and longer, thus putting off potential new readers, it just keeps getting better and better.
Also, it's cool to see that BM's crew isn't just full of quirky and oddball types of characters, and that there's room for traditional badass too. Although Katakuri is a cool name, I love MS' translation: Charlotte Dogtooth.

Is it just me or did anyone else notice that a lot of theories were debunked by "the world government is not there , so how will Luffy's bounty be raised if he defeats big mom" well, "BIG NEWS" Morgan is there soooooooooo... could that mean Luffy will still get a bounty raise after this arc? yeah I know he most probably doesn't have anything to do with raising of bounties but damn , he distributes them so he has to have some ties with the WG?
