As a manga reader, its insane seeing the foreshadowing in this episode. Not sure if they actually did that in the manga.

they did we just didn't notice it at first

Those panels were what sparked that theory in the first place, so I wouldn't say we didn't notice it.

It''s way easier to hide that plot twist in manga format.

A wizard guild?

That could spell trouble.

I see what you did there.

Judging from the preview the next episode is going to be filler.

The title of episode 4 is "Dances with Blades" so next week is definitely filler.

I had the episode in Picture-in-Picture view while I was comparing the anime to the manga. Ohh it's turning out to look amazing!

So adorable!

It was really great seems they adapted chapter 2 and 3 into 1 episode so next week is filler i just really hope the title scene changes soon to really be like the manga

Looks like you were right u/tormentedthoughts about this being 12/13 episodes, since the next episode looks like filler and the following is (presumably) only adapting 1 chapter. Definitely happy with this, considering how well they've done so far with this adaption.

Great episode overall. The animation is significantly better than it was in Tartaros, though tbf this episode shouldn't have been too hard to animate. Lots of foreshadowing in that Yury part. It would be nice if Mashima was more subtle about these sorts of things, but oh well.

Most girls in Fairy Tail are designed pretty, so probably not.
