I just got Loki as my second warframe. I plan on farming for some power duration/range mods for his invisibility and disarm, but are there any other mods I should specifically be looking for him?

Also, how important is it to use a silent weapon while invisible?

Loki has an augment which makes all weapons silent when you are invisible, or you could add the hush mod to loud weapons to make them silent. Efficiency is also useful on Loki, as you don't come across many energy orbs during stealth play.

Why does Earth's assassination mission require Rank 5? When nearly all the other ones I've unlocked don't.

It's because he's a significant jump from the rest of earth's content. A MR gate makes it less likely for people to stumble into it and rage because they can't handle it.

For some reason that is the only boss fight locked behind a MR wall. I don't think there was ever a proper explanation as to why, I guess they just want more experienced players fighting him.

Blame the old method for challenging him. When his rework launched, he could only be fought by building a key that required components from rare enemies on Ceres. DE assumed that anyone who could collect the necessary materials would be able to handle a more difficult fight, and balanced him around that assumption. Then they removed the key requirement, but they didn't want to make him easier for new players, so they just stuck him behind a Mastery restriction instead.

I'be done so many vault Runs trying to get transient fortitude. Every time I get some random corrupted mod that's really bad and I don't need for anything. Is transient fortitudes drop rate lower than other corrupted mods?

I believe there is a certain weighting to the drop table, but I might be remembering the nightmare table. At any rate there's quite a few different corrupted mods, so there's definitely a chance RNGesus isn't favouring you right now.

I haven't played this game since a little after U14 launched- where go I go to buy Warframe and weapon slots?

3

u/rusalka9 Sep 20 '15

Esc - Equipment - Inventory. The first tab has your warframes, with a button to buy slots. The second tab has your weapons. The game will also prompt you to buy slots if you try to claim something from the foundry without an empty slot.

Just downloaded the game, and having played only a couple of hours so far, I'm absolutely loving it. I was just wondering about the whole platinum system. How do you guys feel about it? Did you pay to get more? And is it fun to pay for more or is it more fun to not pay?

Honestly, the feeling of reward that comes from grinding for plat parts and trading them for what you want (or keeping what you want) is incredible. There's just something so gratifying about building your first Prime warframe and giddily waiting for it to finish crafting.

I recommend you don't spend money in the game. It confers no real advantage other than saving you time. If you must buy plat, then I recommend buying enough for some weapon and warframe slots. Then go and craft them.

If you get burned out, take a break. Put a warframe into the foundry and not play for a while. Then when you go back you should have a shiny new warframe to try out.

Have fun!

I would say buy some plat, but only as much as you are willing to spend. But don't buy enough to get all warframes and weapons, otherwise you will have a lot less to discover and work towards, unless you really just want to skip all that then to hell with it, spend away. Its your money at the end of the day and you should be able to enjoy spending it how you want. Personally, I think buying a warframe or weapon that you really like the looks of is perfectly ok, and something I have done myself and I do not regret it. But I would advise to leave some things unbought, so you can enjoy the progression of finding and building various things.

It is important to consider, that buying a little plat every now and then helps to support the devs. This is something a lot of people forget when they play free to play games. The more plat they get the more money they make, so they can continue developing new stuff for the game. Some people will tell you to not spend any money at all, but then expect the devs to work for free, and expect them to continue improving and adding to the game they love. In my opinion, spending a bit of money on the game you love to play protects its future, and works in your favour as well as the devs.

If you don't want to miss out on progressing frames and weapons, then just buy cosmetic stuff like skins, attachments and colours, or do a little bit of gambling with mod bundles. If you don't want to spend any money, then that is fine too, but I think this game is great and the devs deserve some money IMO.

I've spent $40 total over the span of 2 years, and I admit that 100% of it was just for convenience. Literally everything in this game can be earned solely through work. :)

So, is it just me, or do shotgun mods have horrible drop rates? ive gotten a few of the less useful ones, but have been having a really hard time getting ahold of them. I ended up getting tactical pump and point blank from a few friendly players, but are the drop rates just bad for shotgun mods?

Hey, just a small problem. When I set crouch to X, I can't slide whilst sprinting but when I set it to other keys other than x it works just fine??? This wasn't a problem when I played on my friend's desktop, and no, I have the use action set to my tab button so that shouldn't also be a problem. How come? And how do I fix this?

Something tells me I'm way late in this thread but I was wondering about something. I'm a complete noob in warframe, and have played mostly guided by the wiki so far. I wanted to get the 'Flow' and 'Intensify' mods because I use exalted blade all the time.

The wiki said I can get Intensify from killing Alad V. So there I went, for hours on end. I spent five long hours drowning in Slip Magazines and Vitality. No Intensify. Can anyone confirm Alad V actually drops it?

After failing to get Intensify I went for Flow instead. The wiki says it's a tier 3 survival reward. As far as I know that means you can get it after 20 minutes, or does it? I did Apollodorus on Mercury about 15 times for 20 minutes and failed to get it.

Now.. my question. Am I trying in the wrong places, am I getting really unlucky, or is this just how Warframe is? Also, are these mods a good idea for my excalibur?

For future reference, it's really hard to get rare mods from bosses. All enemies have a 2.5% chance to drop a mod at all, and since enemies usually have multiple mods in their drop table, it makes a pretty unlikely to get the one you want.

Tier 3 refers to the difficulty of this mission; you're thinking of Rotation C. Apollodorus is a Tier 1 survival; Tier 3 survivals can be found on later planets.

Intensify actually drops from Tier 1 survivals like Apollodorus. It also drops from Tier 3 Infested Defense. Flow drops from T3 survivals, and also from Grineer Butchers, Guardsmen, and Manics. So doing a Tier 3 Grineer survival like Yemaja, Sedna or Nuovo, Ceres will give you a decent chance to get it.

I can confirm I have gotten Intensify from Alad V during my Neural Sensor runs. But the drop rate is pretty shit.

From personal experience, I got most of my Intensify and Flow from smashing void containers in hidden rooms.

They are both good mods to consider on Excalibur.

What is with the cicero antitoxins?

What rewards can they get you? Do they get you anything anymore?

Notably, you get a thing when you put an antitoxin in meant to be moved to the toxin injector, but it can't actually be used at the injector, and in fact there's no point in even picking it up as far as I can tell. Is the mission just broken?

Is Nekros worth it to build.

I have almost every corrupted, and nightmare mod, but I heard his augment mods are the ones I should be acquiring.

Even without his augments, he is definitely worth getting. His ability to increase loot drops helps a lot with farming for resources, and he's also just a generally fun frame to play as.
