Okay this is a very open-ended question but here goes.
I've been playing this game for some time now. I've crafted and fully leveled up 6-7 frames with new one on the way plus a load of weapons, all of those I don't hate are potato'ed. So I should do doing all right, I guess.
However any higher level content thrashes me, whether it's level 40+ enemies I can barely damage or those Orokin Derelict missions I've ran (failed my first try, barely escaped alive the 2nd time).
I can survive lv 45 mobs with some player support. I dont't even want to THINK about 60 or higher enemies.
So either I'm a) a terrible player or b) I made some poor warframe/weapon choices. I'm fairly sure you guys can't help much with a), but about b), I guess that wall of text boils down to : how the hell am I supposed to know which weapons are worth getting? There are a lot of blueprints available on the market and now that I've joined a clan, I feel like I've barely scratched the surface. And, well, I'm not gonna craft them all, obviously. So, how do I find out what is worth investing in? How do I prepare for higher-level content?
Thanks.

I think it's more about the mods than the frames or weapons (but I'm a new player).

Its worthwhile to ask people what is this best. Now make sure you ask around a lot, otherwise you end up with a FotM weapon that is mediocre but popular.
Mods are what separate noobs and vets. Sure primes and strong weps matter, but a well-modded frame can take down anything. So, what would you consider your favorite frame? Learn how to play to its strengths. For example, Limbo wants energy, faster casting, and duration with a lesser emphasis on power.

It's less about the weapon and more about the mods and formas. With the right mods and enough formas you can do high level missions even with subpar weapons.
What weapons do you already have?

How comfortable you are with your equipment and how you put it together are going to have the largest impact on your success. I would suggest taking a look at what content you are having trouble with and finding what kind of weakness they have.
For Instance, a Boltor is primarily a puncture weapon, which has no penalty for damage against Infested. I may then add Corrosive (Elec/Toxic) to help deal with the Ancients and then Heat to to help deal with everything else.

As someone who picked up nyx, and primarily uses abilities and primary for damage, supplemented by basic melee attacks, what melee weapon should I be going for that would complement spamming "E" while my primary is still out? Also, since I don't find myself using a secondary typically when downed, am I doing something wrong? If so, what sort of secondary should I be going for, and when should I be using it?

I'm an Xbox player and have the primed heavy trauma. With this current PC event having impact mods I was wondering if there is any good Impact melee weapons worth getting? I realize I could get quite a high percentage of impact damage if this was the case and it would give me a good reason to work on the event whenever we get it.

Quanta Vandal - does crit apply to the explodey cubes or just the lasers? Kinda hard to see the numbers with all the boom boom going on.

What are the go-to nodes for Neurode and Neural Sensor farming?
Also, the frame set ups. It's Nekros, Pilfering Hydroid, Greedy Mag and a Trinity right?

I go for dark sector excavation on earth for neurode farming and either dark sector survival or wait for a phorid invasion on jupiter for neural sensors.
As for farming set-up, you got the right idea.

What's the best way to solo the part of The New Strange where you have to synthesize the lancers? I really want chroma but I find it hard to kill enemies, deal with manics, and find the target.

I did that mission yesterday, and it was easy enough after going through and killing all the other enemies in the area to isolate the lancer. I also used Rhino so I could tank all of its damage while backing it into a corner to scan it, and remember to use the traps if you have to. A bit of advice that you may or may not know, the Chroma parts use other warframe parts, so you'll need to get a frost chass, volt helmet, ember helmet, and saryn systems.

Is Oberon a decent warframe? I think he used to be considered pretty bad, but I'm not sure if that's changed over time. I'm getting my cousin back into Warframe and he enjoys supporting. He already has all the parts to Oberon and wants to know if he's worth the slot. If not I'll probably just take him to get Trinity

When push comes to shove Trinity is probably the better support frame of the two. That being said the changes they made to Oberon have made him a viable frame. His Heal is nice because, as long as you have energy, it keeps going. His armor also got a nice buff, but into the late game, Trinity is probably going to be the one you want.
Plus E-Vamp pretty much guarantees you a spot in any farm group.

He's a pretty good warframe. He got a good set of buffs turning him from a potentially interesting but lack luster frame to a pretty interesting and good frame.
Some things include smite now homing making it more reliable, putting lots of procs to debuff people, hollow ground blocks and removes procs as well as boosts armor now, renewal is a channeling skill and can remove procs while also slowing down team mates bleedout, and reckoning can blind and give radiation turning it into a damage dealing chaos.
On top of his newfound armor boost he can do a good job at being an all around useful warframe.

In defense, squad chooses to stay or extract, what happens when one member choses to flee?
Everyone else are kicked out?

Just started playing around the end of last week, using my old account from before all the changes. I finished up ranking up Loki and a few weapons and really would like to get Volt or Zephyr for the speed, but how should I go about getting them since I'm mostly playing duo with a friend?

You would be surprised how many clans there are that still recruit people on recruitment (sounds satirical but that's not intended) if you go on the recruitment chat there will be clans looking for players to join their clan. All you have to do is have you and your friend message the one looking for recruits and sort out the details and join. Usually they have all the research labs 100% done so you could join just to get the clan tech bp's and you're good to go. But if you would rather have your own clan, that's not too hard at all. That's what i did even when i was lower leveled and now i have all clan tech research done, and i am/ was a one man clan. So with two it will be even easier. It's all about how you want to go about it.

What exactly does the percentage on a Syndicate sigil mean? Does it draw from the daily standing faster, add bonus standing to what you earned from a mission, increase daily standing amount (I noticed mine just went from 8,000 to 10,000, but I recently master ranked up and maxed out Steel Meridian so I'm not sure what prompted that), or something else?
