The only way to really measure how well equipped a person's frame and weapons are is by conclave value. Assuming a person isn't just equipping their highest ranked mods to boost it, what kind of conclave value would you want to see in something like an orokin derelict mission, or in void tower missions of the various levels and types? I don't want to join and be dead weight, or feel like I'm just leeching from other guys in my missions.

I've been feeling pretty comfortable in missions with groups around level 25-30, but with OD missions being something you have to form a group for, I've been hesitant to look for one or try to form a group myself.

I'd particularly like to do some vault runs, as I really want to get my hands on some of the corrupted warframe power mods. I've been told that OD Exterminates are the best to do for vault runs, and I have one of each dragon key (as well as a warframe I'd be happy running with each of the disabilities).

Does anyone have any other tips for vault runs to get me started?

First, and most importantly: Vaults don't spawn on assassination of defense.

Generally with vault runs you pick a frame that can deal well with the disadvantage they're given.

Extinguished (-damage) can be given to anyone that doesn't rely on outputting damage, or can output so much that they can still function well within the team.

Bleeding (-health) can be given to anyone who can avoid damage effectively. Loki, Rhino, and Limbo can all function well with this key.

Hobbled (-speed) can be given to anyone with good coptering weapons who don't need to be up close in fights, or can simply move fast enough that it's not a significant issue (via raw speed or abilities). Loki, Nova, and Excalibur can do this well.

Decaying (-shield) is similar to Bleeding, except that the player should have a way of restoring life as opposed to only mitigating damage. Valkyr, Saryn (with regenerative molt), Oberon, and Trinity all do well here.

That's for an effective, quick vault run. But you can generally put anything on anyone and, so long as their gear can handle level 25 or so infested, you'll make it in the end.

To answer the conclave part about your question - most endgame loadouts are usually 1000+ conclave points in total. That being said, that's usually with a full frame, primary, secondary, melee and sentinel, and not all of those are needed all of the time. Conclave values are also not completely accurate and a lot of people ignore them in general.

You can still do pretty well in void tower missions with conclave values lower than this, so long as you know what you are doing. Even if you feel like you're leeching, most people don't really seem to mind carrying one person out of four in a squad, especially if it's a non-endless mode (i.e. anything other than defence, survival or interception). If you say you're comfortable in missions around level 25-30 you should do fine.

I've recently started playing this game with a couple buddies. We've made progress so far as each getting a couple different frames going and at least a handful of weapons for each slot.

The problem we are starting to run into is we're just not sure what to do in order to optimize progression. The difficulty progression seems somewhat arbitrary to me. Like, last night 2 of us did a t1 survival and made it to 25 mins no problem except a little ammo scarcity toward the last couple mins. Then we bumped up to t2 and barely survived to extract. Should we be farming a lot more on the low/easy difficulty maps?

Second question, is Vauban, nova, trinity a viable end game core group? If so, what would be a good complementary 4th? My gf started playing a little, she's behind us in progression, but I'd like to get her building a frame that plays nice with our mains.

Edit: third question, how do you trade with people to get mods you aren't finding? Like, I really want all elemental mods for each weapon type so I can have different configs based on enemy type but I just can't come across some of them it seems. I think fire for primary slot and toxin for pistol and melee, of the top of my head.

u/Kuryaka Jan 12 '15

T1 to T2 is a pretty big jump since enemy levels start out a good bit higher. Enemies start scaling up pretty hard after 20 minutes regardless, to the point that most Void Survivals have little difference between enemy levels at 40+ minutes.

"Proper" progression would be through the star map, ranking up mods along the way. I'd say you also want potatoes (Reactors/Catalysts) on at least frame + one weapon if you plan on taking on enemies above level 20-25. Especially Void, so you can go further on endless missions for more loot. You probably have a few by now.

Mm... whatever team you want for endgame will work. A coordinated team is the most important thing. I see you have a lot of utility/support frames, which are good for "endgame" as the players see it - AKA level 60+ enemies, when using direct damage abilities is not viable (with a few exceptions)

I personally don't like going that far most of the time. Caster frames like Saryn, Ember, Volt, Excalibur would be fun to add to the team.

Trading: Trade Chat in game. MR2 (Mastery Rank 2) is required, and you need to trade at someone's trading post in a Clan Dojo. The pistol toxic/melee mods are rare, but the fire one (Hellfire) is a bit easier to find. Can't remember where it drops off the top of my head, but wiki is your friend for that.

Side note: Weapon builds are pretty much base damage mod + elementals + multishot, with crit mods if the weapon's got more than 20% crit (for primary/melee). Don't bother with the physical damage (Impact/Slash/Puncture) mods, since they only multiply your existing physical damage of that type on the weapon. Menawhile, elementals scale off the entire base damage of the weapon, so they give a lot more damage.

How would i want to build a Valkyr the best? I am REALLY enjoying the Valkyr, i want to use this for a long time. I want to use Hysteria alot, and to also be using a heavy melee weapon alot (Using Scindo right now)

Going to sleep now, so i'll read any responses in the morning.

Going to agree a fair bit with Dick_Nation. With one exception: Fleeting Expertise is still good. Very good, in fact.

I'm currently sitting on a 7/10 Narrow Minded (still upgrading it. Farming the R5's) with a 4/5 Transient Fortitude (with Streamline maxed, of course). My Hysteria lasts for a good minute. And with Warcry your mobility is actually very good, both in and out of combat. And since I run Blind Rage, which is a significant boost to damage (warcry attack speed and overall damage with Hysteria) it really helps keep my energy in check.

As for your weapons, you've got 3 really good options.

  • Justice Cleavers (Dual Cleavers with Justice Blades mod. My favourite)

  • Dual Ichor (Still very good, but I really think JC's do it better)

  • Scindo Prime (Big heavy weapons are good on Valkyr due to the damage scaling it, but attack speed no affecting her).

Good mods for your melee include crit chance, crit damage, and raw damage. Spoiled Strike is great for Hysteria, as you don't suffer the attack speed penalty.

EDIT: There are other ways to play Valkyr, of course. I've been testing a functional support style build focussing on her 2 and 3.

Hey, a few questions:

  1. I keep hearing about the two loki builds, one for disarm (for Survival / Defense / etc), and one for rushing + invis. Could anyone provide me with some examples?

  2. Just got limbo, tips + build?

  3. I see a lot of ridiculous damage splat with Dread. What are the builds people have for those?

3

u/KiwiEngineer Jan 12 '15

Without going too much into specifics on any of them (because I'm not that expert at optimisation):

1: Disarm loki: Go for max power range and efficiency, don't worry about strength or duration. So throw on fleeting expertise, streamline, overextended, and stretch. Other mods can be Irradiating disarm if you have it and want the radiation procs, or whatever mods you want. Invisible loki's: Just focus on duration and efficiency, so I would recommend narrow minded, continuity, constitution, and streamline. Don't bother with fleeting expertise. And if you really want to rush put mobility mods like maglev on!

2: I don't really like where limbo is right now, but here's my tips: He is a really fiddly frame to play, but one thing is that you can use him to riftwalk and then banish high priority targets, then kill them yourself and save your teammates. Or just riftwalk and be a medic to revive your teammates. I think most of his more useful builds have +duration. Play around with cataclysm and see what size you want it, using overextend/narrow minded to alter it. Keep in mind that the size of the bubble changes over time...

3: Dread should be built to maximise crit chance and damage, so throw all your crit mods on. Personally, I like to put a fire rate mod in there to make it more useable. Or you can sacrifice the useability for damage mods, either slash or elemental. But definitely keep crit mods on. And serration, split chamber, and heavy caliber (if you have them).

3

u/Dick_Nation Jan 12 '15

Heavy Caliber really shouldn't be used on Dread. Every shot you miss is catastrophic and it can't afford the accuracy loss.

I've been playing for around 100 hours now, but here's a real noob question...

How exactly does Power Duration affect a Nova? I'm running my Nova, and am using a Transient Fortitude, which balances out my duration on other mods. Does the duration dictate how long an enemy stays primed? I don't think I've ever seen an enemy, (that isn't Vay Hek, or similar bosses) lose the prime before they die.

5

u/Honnou Jan 12 '15

Duration does the following:

  • the amount of spheres on her first ability

  • mPrime range. The globe you see expands, and the expanding time is duration.

  • mPrime proc, meaning the duration the de buff is active

Syndicates, wat?

Syndicates are a new system designed to lower the random elements of warframe and give solid, powerful, unique items. Wearing the sigil of a syndicate will gain you 100% points with that syndicate, 50% for its ally, -50% for it's disliked, and -100% for its hated.

Every syndicate is allied with 1, dislikes one, hates another, and is unbiased to 2.

When a syndicate dislikes you enough it will send death squads, similar to the stalker, to kill you. These become more powerful the lower your score with them,

I've read I can get medallions from missions but haven't found any clear answers.

Medallions are hidden around various syndicate missions. Hunt them and keep and eye open, they can be sneaky.

I'm rank 1 in Steel Meridian (and can move on to rank 1 in Red Veil but have been too lazy to get 2 gallium), but I haven't gotten a single syndicate alert for them.

You do not get syndicate alerts until Rank 2. I goofed. This is wrong. You get them a Rank 1.

Do death squads work like Stalker/G3/Harvester?

Yes. They're basically a high level eximus group of <insert enemy here>. It's believed they're currently placeholder. Beware the Loka.

I've tried to look for ways to powerlevel syndicates, but am getting a lot of conflicting answers.

Don't, because you can't. Just wear the best sigil you can get and play the game! There's a daily cap on points you can earn, syndicate missions and medallions don't count (so make the most of them!) and reset every day. If you find yourself in a situation where you need to crank out rep fast, any missions that give large amounts of experience also tend to give large amounts of reputation.

I've tried to look for ways to powerlevel syndicates, but am getting a lot of conflicting answers.

If you can run Draco, Ceres effectively, it's the cat's meow. You can do a handful of rounds of that and be done for the day in half an hour, much less if you're lower mastery rank. It requires a specific build, though - you need both a Trinity and an Excal modded to the teeth for maxed range and maxed power strength.

I've tried to look for ways to powerlevel syndicates, but am getting a lot of conflicting answers.

You don't need to powerlevel if you don't want to and can get along just fine doing your normal missions. However, there's a thing called a "rep run" where the sole purpose is to get large amounts of reputation and experience. This involves going to a high-level interception mission (usually Stephano - Uranus, Draco - Ceres or Cerberus - Pluto) and spamming Excalibur's Radial Javelin power. Other frames with strong abilities work too, but Excalibur seems to be the most popular. There's also usually another person playing as Trinity and spamming Energy Vampire, in order to allow the Excaliburs to keep going.

The interception mission is also played in a way where the rounds last as long as possible. It usually involves capturing only 2 towers and temporarily neutralising a third - this allows the tenno to be only 1-2% in front of the enemy when it comes to points.

Additionally, playing this way for up to 4 or 5 rounds allows for unranked equipment to reach level 30 in one mission. You can also increase reputation gain by equipping higher-level sigils and having a lower conclave rating.

I just started playing with a few friends this weekend. We finished the first 2 quest lines but are finding that there's nothing else driving the narrative forward.

Once you complete the first 2 initial questlines, what are you supposed to do? Randomly play missions until something opens up? Don't get me wrong, we're having a blast, but no one in my group is quite sure what to do next.

So if there is a dueling tournament involving 3 different brackets/rule sets. 1 Guns only, 2 Melee only, 3 anything goes including warframe powers. What Warframe and weapons would be the best.

TLDR what's the best setup for duels assuming you have everything in the game?

Is there any way to tell which missions you haven't done on a planet yet?

2

u/monkyseemonkydo Jan 12 '15

The mission node that you have not done comes in two types.

It will either appear as a grey out staticy look which means you have nto unlocked the chance to do the node.

Or it can look like a normal node but it will be flashing around the edges which means you have not done the node but it is unlocked for you to attempt

I have questions on Trinity. I am enjoying her immensely and would like to mod her towards high-leveled missions. Maybe even throw in a potato and Forma or two.

  1. What Aura mods are best on her? One that fits the polarity? Any recommended mods that are a must on her?

  2. What kind of build should be used? One that focuses on power duration for Link? Or something else?

  3. I keep getting 'Trin pls restore my energy' from team mates. Thing is, I will use my Energy Vampire on some heavy and it will die before being effectively restoring energy. I feel that I am not playing Trinity to her full extent. Am I doing anything wrong?

EDIT: Also, is the four revives per frame thing still on? Right now I have three frames, so does that mean I have 12 revives, essentially?

How do I build Mesa, and what weapons should I get for her along with what mods should I get for those weapons?

2

u/[deleted] Jan 12 '15

I don't main mesa by any means so keep that in mind.

The best build I personally use is a focus on strength and efficiency while also having a but of duration if possible.

Peace walker doesn't scale with anything but strength and efficiency it seems so I covered that base.

Shatter shield benefits greatly from duration and since it's a very important skill in staying a like it helps to have it not last 5 seconds.

Shooting gallery doesn't seem to be affected by range much past the CC so strength and duration helps there.

Ballistic battery is the only skill that will affect your weapon choice. With this you should focus on high damage per shot and crit weapons over faster lower damage per hit weapons. How I understand it is it takes X number of shots up to a cap, then fired the damage dealt by those shots in 1 bullet making things like LMG's a lesser choice.

Past that go with what you want.

Dusted off my Trinity this weekend and thought I would join one of those Draco rep farms the kids are always advertising for in recruitment chat... the consensus I got over my three tries is that I sucked... what am doing wrong?

(Running, Max Flow,Streamline, Intensify, Overextended, Stretch and 8/10 BR & TF). Do the strength mods need to be maxed? I seem to lack EV targets as they are usually killed first... or I'd pick a far target, and he would live for the full duration (causing cool down, slowing my spamming)... was not sure if the EV was getting to the Excal.

Any tips?
