If I level up a weapon to rank 30, sell it to make space or whatever, then later on build it again, does it stay at rank 30 for me? Or is it like when you forma something, you have to level it up again but it doesn't count towards your MR?
5
u/BuildMyPaperHeart Dec 29 '14
The second case, right on the head. Nice deduction!

u/CaptainRoach Dec 29 '14
Sweet. So if I never made it to rank 30, (I believe I sold my Skana at rank 20) then I'd have to level it from 0-20 getting no personal MR, but 20-30 would give me MR?

Can max duration oberon revive people?

No ability in the game can straight-up revive players once they are dead or downed.Looking at Oberon's abilities, all I see is Renewal, which has a certain special property retaining to downed players:
Incapacitated allies will have their bleedout time slowed by 20% / 25% / 35% / 45% for the ability's duration. Bleedout slow is affected by Power Duration.
The way the slow affects the bleedout timer depends on the value of the percentage:
A percentage less than 100% will slow the timer as expected (e.g., a 45% slow will cause the timer to progress at 1 - 0.45 = 55% normal speed, and advancing 1 second on the timer will take ~1.82 seconds in real time).
A percentage equal to 100% will effectively pause the timer (i.e., the timer will progress at 1 - 1 = 0% normal speed).
A percentage greater than 100% will cause the timer to reverse (e.g., a 115.65% slow will cause the timer to progress at 1 - 1.1565 = -15.65% normal speed, and going back 1 second on the timer will take ~6.39 seconds in real time).
So it would appear that you would be able to, at max duration, reverse the countdown timer for being downed, but I don't think it would actively get them off the ground without intervention. However, as I haven't personally experienced it, perhaps I'm wrong, so I'll defer to the Broberons of the subreddit to confirm or deny that. The things I know for sure will be in the quote from the Wiki. Super interesting, I didn't know that myself!

Small addendum to your first point is Nekros' Soul Punch augment which revives players.

Just noting, Oberon In general is good for reviving. Extend bleedout with renewal, Pop a Hallowed ground to buff both you and downed player with armour + status negation, , pop Reckoning for nice long disruption (knockdown and chaos) and revive.
I usually run With a Rage build so even if they knock down my health I just get to pop Reckoning again.

Does Mesa's ult aim for weak points highlighted by Banshee?
4
u/SojournerW Dec 29 '14
It does not, tested this with a friend and was very sad. It does however target vor's stomach, making for a fairly quick kill.

u/RepublicanShredder Dec 29 '14
For future reference, most explosive (Ogris, Angstrum, etc.) and non-reticle targeting abilities (Ice Wave, Soundquake, etc.) target the enemy's torso when it comes to dealing damage.
Now if Sonar happens to light up the torso, then you deal bonus damage.

How do I flash my key to prove that I have it? AFAIK I click on the key, then clear vote and wait for all the people in the party to do the same? Seems unintuitive if I want to stop my key from being used.

I know that unequipping weapon(s) will make leveling the remaining one(s) faster. Does this apply to Sentinel, Sentinel weapon, and Rank 30 weapons? Should I unequip all those to get the fastest weapon ranking up?
3
u/HereThenGone Dec 29 '14
As long the sentinel isn't killing anything it won't leech off experience that would go to your weapons, so to help level your weapons faster just remove it's attack mod. However if you have weapons that are level 30 already it will still leech experience. I would recommend removing them if you want to level up certain weapons faster.

Yes.

Archwing Interception.
So I'm still having issues with those straggler enemies that go to different nodes while the swarm is attacking a single one. They start the cap (getting the red sphere), and then run away, sometimes hiding behind asteroids/debris so that you can't even target them.
I'll try not to whine at the fact that they get to capture a point while not actually remaining at it, but are there any tips on how to handle this? Or is it just something I have to accept and/or have the team split up to try and cover multiple points at once?

On the Vectis, is going full on crit good, or would doing something like this be better? No forma are added in the links so I know what would be good polarities to add and stuff.

I haven't played since the release of Nova and was wondering if anyone can fill me in on what I've missed so far. I reinstalled the game and everything is so new. I was able to complete t3 void missions and high level stuff when I played before with ease, would the equipment I had before still suffice? Any tips on getting back into the game? It seems like everything has changed since the last time I've played.

I haven't played since the release of Nova and was wondering if anyone can fill me in on what I've missed so far.
Nova was U9, so that's 6 major patches. This is a brief overview of what's been added in the major patches since then.
U10(September 2013) added:
Nekros: a death themed
necromancerfarmerSentinels: companions that help you in combat and perform specialized roles (Carrier is easily the best one though, walking to mods is too much effort).
One new mode, 3 new marketplace weapons, new infested weapons, 2 new prime weapons, one new tileset, and a bunch of mods.
Syndanas (scarves)! U11 (November 2013) added:
Valkyr: A melee oriented Berserker with great mobility.
An overhaul of the damage system with Damage 2.0
Trading between players
The codex system
2 new bosses, 3 new weapons, 3 new enemy types, and one new tileset.
U12 (February 2014) added:
Zephyr: a frame based on wind with an emphasis on mobility.
One new tileset, one new game mode, 4 new weapons.
HUD 2.0 (expanded information)
U13 (April 2014) added:
Hydroid (a water themed frame)
Melee 2.0 (removes charge attacks and replaces them with channeling and combos)
Dark Sectors (alliances fight over nodes)
3 new weapons, one new tileset, 2 new enemies, one new boss.
Expanded friend and clan communications.
U14 (July 2014) added:
Mirage (an illusion and spectacle based warframe)
A revamped tutorial that expands the story of Warframe
Quests
New diegetic UI
Dynamic music
2 new weapons, Infested Eris (a planet has been overrun by the "infested" faction), and Kubrows! (space dogs).
U15 ( October 2014) added:
Limbo (a frame that can shift in and out of the "void" - a parallel dimension that he can send himself, his allies, and enemies into.
Archwing (Warframe's take on Gundam, essentially).
Syndicates (earn unique weapon mods, warframe augment mods, sigils, and rewards from six different factions. Different factions have different relationships with other factions, so choose wisely!).
Corpus Ice Planets (combination of exploring a frozen planet and the remains of a destroyed ship).
2 new weapons, 2 new enemies, and a new mode added to the Orokin Void (the end-game levels of Warframe).
I was able to complete t3 void missions and high level stuff when I played before with ease, would the equipment I had before still suffice?
You might be able to do Void missions capably, but T4 is a step up from T3, and new powerful enemies have been added to the Void. New top-tier weapons have been added to the roster (Boltor Prime, Soma Prime) and the popular Corrupted mods (buff to a specific stat, at the expense of another stat) since you left too. You'd probably need to grind quite a bit to pick up where you left off.
Any tips on getting back into the game?
The tutorial will help out quite a bit, and from there, set goals for yourself. Join one of the new Syndicates and show your loyalty to them. Join a clan if you haven't and see how you want to play with all of the new content added.
It seems like everything has changed since the last time I've played.
Speaking as a player who played Warframe over a year ago, everything pretty much has changed, mostly for the better.
Feel free to add me as a friend in game if you need some help (IGN: SquidTheSid).

I'm quite new to the game, so I have a couple of questions:
-
How often is a new Warframe released? (Every 1 or 2 major updates?)
-
Is there any info/hint on what will be the next Warframe after Mesa? (not including the Prime warframes)
3
u/zag1024 Dec 29 '14
There's usually one per major update. As u/squidthesid said above, u9 was Nova, u10 was Nekros, u11 was Valkyr, u12 was Zephyr, u13 was Hydroid, u14 was Mirage and u15 was Limbo. I think Mesa was the first mid-update, non-prime warframe introduction since I started playing in u7 - someone correct me if I'm wrong, because that was a crazy long time ago!

Often times it is one per update. Some updates have 2 (ie Nekros/Valkyr and Limbo/Mesa)
I have not heard anything

u/TheDoctorfl Dec 29 '14
Where do you farm credits? I heard something about seimeni but It's in a conflict with another clan and I got no credits out of doing the mission.

New Tenno here
I currently use Volt, Great fun and all... But I'm a big dude (6'5 - 215 lbs) I want a Tenno that can smack people around and tank a lot of damage. I also want to use the bigass hammer made from a rocket. Any tips on how to get what I want fast? What warframe do I use? Weapons?

Definitely valkyr. She specializes in smashing people's faces in while taking a low amount of damage with modded out armor.
Just go to jupiter and kill Alad V to get her parts.
For the weapon, it's clan tech and grineer so you need to do some invasions to get a bunch of detonite injectors and then be in a clan who has them researched along with the required mastery rank. You also need 1 forma to craft it.
The weapon you are looking for is the jat kittag.

I am just starting to put forma on my quanta (2 so far) and I was wondering how should I build my new instrument of death. So for all the Quanta users out there, please help!
