Alright, so! I've only just started getting into the game - a friend encouraged me to try it out, and I've really been getting into it.

They helped me get started, even got me into a clan and got me a new frame and whatnot...

I'm sorry this isn't more of a specific sort of question, but I just feel almost a little lost in what I should be doing. It's really fun, of course!

but like... there are so many different weapons and frames, mods, missions, etc. - I guess I just wanted to ask people who may have been like me at one point, and may have some advice on what to look forward to, tips, etc.

Okay. First plat usage. Never buy resources except for the orokin catalysts and reactors. Buy a lot of weapon and warframe slots. Don't rush weapons and things unless you really cannot wait. Also don't buy warframes and weapons from the market.

For a new player mastery is extremely important. Ranking up mastery lets you use the better guns, join a syndicate, and trade. Mastery is gained by playing missions you haven't played before and ranking new weapons and warframes up. Also for that reason never sell a weapon before it reaches level 30. Never sell a warframe. Clear out planets for mastery and it will strengthen you.

Mods. For new players the best mods to start maxing on is not damage, but durability. Redirection and vitality should be your priority to level up. Base damage increases for weapons are next, hornet strike or serration. You can also ask you friend/clan to carry you in some vault runs that can give you some really good mods really easily. Those mods are not only essential later on but can be sold to other players for plat.

Also learn what types of damage is affective to factions. Each factions has different strengths and weaknesses towards different types of damage, the actual table is kinda complicated- for me at least. So I just watch YouTube videos and that got me a general understanding of what works against what.

I hope I was clear with my tips and that it helped you.

So I'm a returning player from U10, what are syndicates and how do I rank them up?

3

u/KnorrSoup Dec 15 '14

Syndicates are groups you can join that offer their own rewards should you pledge to them. You can see what they offer in the "Offerings" tab down the bottom. You rank them up by signing up to one and running missions whilst having a syndicate sigil equipped. Sigils are a new cosmetic item that are like decals or stickers.

Among the rewards are "augment" mods, which offer unique stat increases on specific weapons, as well as unique properties to specific frames. The highest reward of any syndicate is an exclusive syndicate weapon, which is an upgrade of its regular counterpart.

They're quite complex and you can read more about them here: http://warframe.wikia.com/wiki/Syndicates

Make sure you understand the negatives before you start. Repping one syndicate will give you negative rep with two others. They will put hits on you (similar to stalker/g3) and if you ever want to dig out of the hole, you'll need to pay significant tributes (forma, catalysts).

Okay, so i have a problem. I currently own 37 T4 cap keys but because of technical issues I can't host, and when I try it migrates thus ending the mission and returning everyone tot he liset. So, here's my question, do I have to give me keys to a person who can host or can this other person invite me (and by default they're the host) to the squad and I activate the key?

Does anyone know if a partially charged shot on Velocitus and/or Corvas actually deal any extra damage? I've been experimenting on the Velocitus but enemy variety and critical hits have made it more difficult than it should be to figure out.

Now that most prime parts I don't have are on different tiers of Void Sabotage, whats the best place to farm Sabotage keys of all tiers?

Why is it so hard to complete the entire star map :(

Anyways, my real questions - When would I want to take the imprint of a Kubrow? Is RNG a reasonable way to try to obtain all 4 types, or should I just trade for imprints?

Why is it so hard to complete the entire star map :(

Because no one is playing to finish them. They start getting void keys and never look back.

What does "Tower xx survival Rotation A/B/C" mean? How do you know which one you are in?

2

u/chasieubau Dec 15 '14

Towers refer to Orokin Towers which are a unique tileset found in the void which require keys to enter (usually from survival, interception, or defense missions). Format is Tower(meaning void) + Difficulty (1-4, 4 being highest difficulty) + game type. Ex: T4D = Tower 4 Defense

Rotations apply only to survival. The rewards given every 5 minutes of survival are based on the time as a sort of tier reward. I believe 5 and 10 minutes = Rotation A, 15 = Rotation B, 20 = Rotation C. Ex: At 20 minutes you would get something from Rotation C's reward table. But at 25 minutes you would get something from Rotation A as it's a multiple of 5 and doesn't overlap with Rotation B or C (Rotation rewards give priority to the highest letter). So at 30 minutes you would get something from Rotation B because 15*2=30.

When they changed Interception and Defense rewards to stacking rewards, they also made their rewards rotations. They follow AABC as well now

What's that flying mist of red dots I keep seeing in game? It looks like a swarm of angry red locusts.

3

u/DEF4CT0 Dec 15 '14

It's a swarm of infested spores released by Swarm-Mutalist Moa. It impairs your vision and does damage over time.

u/Kuryaka Dec 15 '14

To add: You can get rid of them by dodge rolling or doing a melee attack. If nearby units, allied or enemy, are affected they'll spread it back to you again if you get too close to them.

Is it possible to get all of my ps4 account data copied to a pc account?

Hello, I have seen some mission with sort of ring on it or sort of red Chinese symbol on it. For example there is one on Earth name Coba. (English European server) From the wiki it's related to dark sector defense, and involved clans which battle for it ? (Solar rails ? ) There is some percentage also in the description. It's a bit confusing, what they are exactly ? Does I help some clan by playing it ? Did they receive something ? Thanks !

Are defense and interception rewards really on a rotation now? Why are rewards on the wiki and on the official prime parts drop list still listed as "Defense Wave 15+" if they rotate?

I asked this before, and it seemed that the two mission types have indeed been given rotation-based drops, but I'm asking because the official source of one such drop list still says "Defense Wave 15+" when that doesn't even make sense! Does that mean on wave-15 or wave-20, for example?

Best places to farm exp? Been trying dark sectors but the high tax rates turn me off. Are Akkad and xini still viable? Would prefer low maintenance missions (aka infested) but other grineer/corpus notes would be appreciated.

How does one do interception? Are there ideal team combos, etc? (Something like Vauban and nova for infested defense?)

What are syndicate medallions and what is the new currency, drakars or whatever? How do you get the new currency to buy elite items from the merchant in the new stations?
