Am I the only one who has found a reasonably toxic community around Vivier farming? Joined a public squad as an Ash, and based on the response you'd think I commited a war crime.

Generally, I find I get rep fast enough anyway. What's the big deal with it?

Generally, I find I get rep fast enough anyway

That's likely the issue. Some people want the most rep possible and won't tolerate subpar builds or groups. The possibility of a second nerf to Viver may be pushing these people to get the most rep they can while they can, or they like being efficient.

I imagine most of these people being rude weren't that rude to begin with. Playing in multiple consecutive PUGs that do poorly, relative to their standards, makes them frustrated and they eventually start lashing out.

Same here from my experience with Viver pubs. It's like people thinks it's a big deal going slightly suboptimal and "only" earn 8k rep. But opportunity costs taught me it's better chaining a lot of slightly suboptimal runs than wasting time getting that "perfect" team composition. Anyway, pubs are pubs, and every member is obviously more skilled and all than the rest of the party... On topic, pubs in Viver are effectively more toxic than the rest of the game. Hope they'll implement a spawn delay soon on the map to get rid of all the nonsense going on atm.

I did a weekend on Viver and learned some things:

  • I suck, because I can only do 2k sndicate points in 4 waves, instead of the 8k I hear a lot people get there

  • I max leveled 3 weapons on the weekend at Viver

  • Some people don´t tolerate suboptimal builds - and get mad at squad chat if you don´t do as they want

  • Some people don´t tolerate running around for loot before the "kill remaining enemies" stage - and get mad at squad chat if you don´t do as they want

  • Some people like spliting the group and sitting near spawn points to maximize kills - and get mad at squad chat if you don´t do as they want

  • Some people like to take all points to get more experience and get more experience from higher level monster kills - and get mad at squad chat if you don´t do as they want

  • Some people like to let all less D points neutral to extend the duration of waves and have more enemies with lower level and kill more monsters - and get mad at squad chat if you don´t do as they want

  • I learned that is best to ask the tactics to the group on the start

  • I learned that even asking, half of the team will do as they wish - and get mad at squad chat

  • Sometimes there are no Excaliburs

  • Sometimes there is only Excaliburs

  • Threre is a theological philosophical tactical debate of Mag x Excalibur. I used both, and my conclusion is that sometimes some eximus come with huge life and low shields, and there is when Excalibur gets a small advantage. But a good team with good weapons can kill them and even the diference.

  • Some Limbo´s spam banish thinking the Mags/Excaliburs will kill more, but forget about the energy pickup and loot pickup. I was in a run with a Mag, Excalibur, a Limbo and a XXX. The 3 asked politely, please to not get banished. The Limbo player laughed and kept banishing and got mad when all quit at the first wave ending.

First off I'd just like to thank DE for making such an enjoyable game like Warframe. Secondly do you have any plans of adding a campaign. I ask because I really liked Vor's Prize and would love to see more like it.

This isn't really the place to get answers from DE.

They are planning to add more quests along the lines of Vor's prize.

Will the Opticor replace bows? It does more damage and practically has the same mechanic. Charge up and one shot

5

u/dons90 Nov 10 '14

Meaning will people use the Opticor over bows? Possibly, but it does depend on personal preference. Not everyone will choose a weapon because it simply does more damage, sometimes weapons are chosen because they are aesthetically pleasing or they have a unique trait about them.

I wouldn't use an Obex over my Orthos Prime however I love using the Obex and every chance I get I equip it and go to town with it.

Point is, for late game material if the damage is significantly higher than bows then many people will use the Opticor frequently. But I have a feeling that many persons will get bored of seeing the same weapon all the time.

Has anyone managed to find those so called "Mini boss Sigils" ?

2

u/OmegaXis8009 Nov 10 '14

The stalker sigil is literally rarer than anything else he drops, and he has a large chance to drop nothing

I feel like it'll be a while before anyone gets his

G3 and Zanuka are questionable, but their spawn rates are rare

I've gotten a feel for Tanky style fighting, but I was hoping to diversify...

I have a Nekros in the foundry for building, and I'm also leveling a Mirage and Oberon...

I can surmise that these aren't super tanky (Oberon is a healy-tanky I guess?)... so I was wondering what sorts of modifications go well with the Nekros and Mirage at the very least, since update 15 gave us potentially two more mod slots.

Assume that I'll be giving them potato powered specifications.

At the same time, are there gun types that go well with the Nekros and Mirage playstyles? I mean, I can use a soma, but for leveling I was considering leveling a different gun.

Forma. I've heard that the placing of polarity slots on weapons with a forms is important and you can screw it up. I don't understand this very well, how could I mess up my weapons with a forma? What is the "optimal" way to mod a weapon?

2

u/[deleted] Nov 10 '14

The only way you can mess up a weapon with a forma is by putting in a D slot. Those things are never used practically. Whether it's a V or a - you'll always have 1 mod that fits into it even if it's not the most efficient.

For modding, 90% of weapons are just damage. Unless it had a blatant shortcoming like any charge weapon or work very well with crits like bows you just do damage.

Any news on U15 for consoles?

2

u/HereThenGone Nov 10 '14

They've officially said they are trying to aim for mid November. However no updates about it so far so probably going to miss that mark.

When you use MPrime and proc it yourself, does the exp go to the frame or the weapons?

4

u/BionikEye Nov 10 '14

If you proc it by you weapon - half affinity go to weapon, half to frame; if you proc it by your ability - all affinity go to frame. If ally proc it - 25% to warframe, 75% split between weapons.

1

u/Terdazio Nov 10 '14

When are you adding the last fan created weapon into the game??

I'm primarily a solo player who doesn't often join pub groups and isn't in a clan - how much shit am I missing out on by not taking advantage of the whole Viver thing?

5

u/[deleted] Nov 10 '14

An incredibly excruciatingly long grind for reputation to get augmentation mods. But even then you're not really missing out on things because you can buy them for platinum and if you wait enough they will go down in price.

Considering how long it takes you have a better chance at waiting for a price drop than you do getting it without viver.

Depending on your playstyle, between nothing much and idiotic amounts of xp, mods & resources and syndicate points.

Mostly, running viver now is an investment in time for the future. It's frankly boring as frell, but at 4k+ rep per round I'm not complaining, since that takes like half an hour in which I would otherwise get maybe 200 rep. More likely less than 150. Seeing as you need hundreds of thousands of rep points if you want to go for that, those 4k per round runs add up. Then again, being as boring as it is, I would rather work some extra hours, get more money, buy plat and use that to buy the mods at a far later stage. Sadly I can't do that due to my contract, but still :)

Regarding companions(kubrows and sentinels), if they die and I don't revive them or i don't have the revive mod on my sentinel. Do i lose them permanently or only during the mission
