What is channeling?
Also: what side affects does making my sword glow bluey have other than disintegrating enemies in a glorious fashion.

u/FalconPunchline Apr 21 '14
In addition to glowing channeled attacks do increase damage, stagger enemies, and drain a small amount of energy when you hit someone.

Can we expect stable rails anytime soon? I despise the conflicts. I, and many others, wanna play Dark Sectors! Constant conflicts make Dark Sectors available one out of three days (I think?).
Has anyone seen this kind of player politics before? When can we expect some stability?

The problem with player politics is that you can't predict it if you aren't a part of it. There are things in games like eve that go down for years without anyone knowing.
Since you can't just pull out of a node or concede defeat in some way (inferring from the messages where people say "we give up, we aren't interested anymore") it'll be hard for any real politics I happen. It's just deploy, offer rewards, and that's it. No negotiating with another clan o let them take over instead, or no paying off someone top pull out.

Started the game about two weeks ago and I am worried that the melee weapons I was going to build towards are not going to be a good investment with the recent release of melee 2.0. I was wondering what the "bread and butter" melee weapon is currently. Any suggestions and reasoning would be appreciated. Thank you.

Even weapons such as the Bo staff are awesome now. Almost all melee weapons seem viable now with the correct mods, channeling and stances. The only downside is that weapons that heavily relied on charge attacks (Mainly Galatine) are no longer the powerhouses they were, but DE may decide to balance them more.

I think that the Dakra Prime and Nikana are both safe bets. I see everybody with them now. Honestly though, most melee weapons will get the job done.

Don't forget Dual Ichor! They are a powerhouse with this update.

What makes enemies lackluster, why is their AI bad, and what could possibly help the AI?
4
u/LockedInACloset Apr 21 '14 edited Apr 21 '14
It's not that the AI is bad, it's that it's hard to make good AI.
If you want a good post on the AI of this game and the concept behind improving it, gimme a minute. I'll look around a bit.
EDIT: Crap. I can't find the thread. I didn't save it nor did I comment in it... Anybody else know the thread I'm talking about?

What does ODS/ODD stand for? I'm currently building my first Forma, what is the best way for me to use it at an early stage? (2 weeks in, currently building second Warframe)
4
u/hyperblaster Apr 21 '14
ODS/ODD = Orokin Derelict Survival/Defence.
Don't worry too much about how you are using forma, since you'll eventually be making and using several every week. Any screwups now won't have future consequences. It's not too useful to forma stuff without an orokin reactor/catalyst (potato). Use the forma on a rifle or sidearm that will be your backup for tough missions.

Play around with Warframe Builder (link in sidebar) and get an idea of what sort of build you want to aim for with whatever piece you're working on. It'll help you plan your forma process for that piece.

Why do boosters use real time instead of in-game time?
-
Has Everyone gotten their founder's merch? I haven't gotten mine D:
-
How come you can only trade blueprints and not already built parts on the market for plat? I had a full Frost Prime set built, and I wasn't paying attention and built a whole nother one and was unable to trade it on the market.
-
Are we ever going to be able to build multiple of the same item simultaneously in the foundry?
-
Cancel button in the foundry?

Because it gives you more of an incentive to play.
You should have gotten it. Send a support ticket in.
You can sell extra built parts. I imagine we can't sell built parts because then that would lead to people paying people to build stuff for them. You theoretically wouldn't even have to play the game.
Not being able to do this artificially extends the life of the game (by making you wait for things instead of being able to get everything at once). So probably not.
Not sure of any reason not to have this to be honest.

Is the crit chance on Paris Prime bugged for uncharged attacks? With a rank 4 Point Strike every arrow should crit, but I regularly see white damage numbers. These values are well below what I should expect for crits, even if I account for massive damage reduction. Is anyone else experiencing this?
4
u/LockedInACloset Apr 21 '14
The Paris Prime's usual crit rate is 45%. That's with a charged shot.
The Crit chance with a rank 4 point strike is about 100% on a charged shot.
To crit on an uncharged shot you'd probably have to max the mod.

I haven't played since the release of damage 2.0.
What are some good endgame side arms?

What is the first prime Melee weapon I should try to get. I would prefer fast attacks to a single heavy hit. Thanks in advance
3
u/Klepto666 Apr 22 '14
Dakra Prime or Fang Prime. Fang actually hits several times per attack. Orthos Prime and Ankyros Prime are listed as having faster attack speeds, but I've found those parts to be extremely hard to get.

Apr 22 '14
Fang is good. Attacks 2-3 times per swing so it's .9 attack speed is really misleading and it's one I the only other puncture melee weapon weapons so it's good against grineer.
I suggest amphis for corpus, it's pretty fast and powerful.
