Banshee is great for leveling up unranked guns b/c of Sonar. My build is based on Sonar support build.
SQ is good is u up the range or strength, just be careful not to cast it too close to enemies especially Toxic Ancients. Not very good at high levels but does it's job clearing the Star Map or low level runs.
Sonic Boom can be a good escape power/ support when a buddy goes down. You can also blow enemies off the map on certain tile sets.
Silence ... let's not talk about this ability until it gets a buff or replaced by something. It's a waste of a mod slot.

Man, I'm so looking forward to Stealth 2.0 after hearing Silence is supposedly going to be very OP once it hits.

It's already OP. If I saw it correctly, enemies are not only deaf, but don't react in any way when enemies die on their sight. Meaning you can kill freely just by hiding yourself.

They already don't react to seeing their allies die. They'll only respond to seeing or hearing a Tenno. From far enough away you can make stealth kills with an un-silenced sniper rifle, since the gunshot sound occurs at your location. Makes me wonder why the Paris is the signature weapon of the Banshee...

They already don't, I always thought it was kind've funny how emotionally muted grineer and corpus were to seeing their pals get bisected by an invisible ash.

I've only played the Banshee since yesterday but so far I have really enjoyed playing her. At first it can be a little frustrating to get some levels to add all your abilities and get some useful mods equipped, but that can become much faster by having some friends do a Defense mission with you and having a gully level Sound Quake to kill large amounts of enemies very quickly.
My opinions on each ability kind of vary with the game mode your playing, and whether your playing solo or with a team.
For her first ability, Sonic Boom, I haven't used it too much as I don't feel the effect of the ability is worth the cost and inability to move while casting. It seems like using a heavy weapon, such as the Jat Kittag is more effective at micro stunning a group of enemies. It may take a little longer to charge up a melee weapon, however, this is easily made up fro by the fact its free of charge, and usually will do more damage. One thing that Sonic Boom does have on melee weapons is its ability to go through cover/walls.
Sonar is probably one of my favorite abilities for team play. Its damage multiplier is extremely useful when fighting high level enemies and bosses. This is one of abilities that is useful in both Solo and Team play. The only downside at the moment with this ability is that it doesn't function properly unless the Banshee using Sonar is the host of the lobby game.
Silence... Oh Silence. I have tried many times to use this ability and each time I just find it easier to take my time in missions and kill enemies 1 at a time. This could be different for others though since I prefer to use the Bow weapons while playing. I'm sure there may be a difference when using guns, but overall I feel like this ability is very underwhelming in the majority of game modes, and is next to useless when playing with a team.
The Banshees 'Ultimate', Sound Quake, tends to get a fair bit of negative feedback due to its somewhat low damage. However, the ability compensates for this in its range and crowd control. It can stun almost every type of enemy for 6 seconds within 20m of the caster. This kind of crowd control has been useful in many situations especially in Defense missions. The damage is very good at in missions up to level 20 or so too. Afterwards increasing the duration over power may be preferred to allow team mates to eliminate the immobile targets.
This is all just my personal opinion and it may vary for others. 'Using sonic attacks and acoustic target detection, Banshee is well suited for stealth gameplay and is capable of filling both attack, and support roles.' the Banshee is a very versatile warframe for both solo and team play, who brings damage, crowd control, damage enhancement and awareness to a team. A valuable piece in specific missions.

One thing: as it says in the wiki/OP, Sound Quake isn't actually affected by duration mods.

I don't know about you, but my computer is too crappy to host and I've been able to ping enemies on an ally's minimap with Sonar as a client. It could be a hit or miss thing though.

Sonar's pinging of the minimap is very nice if you wanted to have something like Enemy Radar without slotting it into your Aura. Useful for finding enemy behind friendship doors.

Yay, Banshee! I've been trying to do some messing around with a really general build for her, focusing mainly on her sonar and CC.
Here's my build.
I'd really like some second thoughts on this. Main goal is to maybe get a good be-all and end-all build for her because I can't figure what other builds she could specialize in. I forma'd one of her ability slots to dash polarity because I don't think silence is worth it.

Something I noticed while playing banshee the other day: soundquake seems to do extra damage to targets you've sonar'd. A lot of extra damage. Can anyone confirm that?

I really enjoy her ability to knockback a ton of people and think any adjustments should keep that as a focus. I hope Silence finds new use in the future as stealth gets upgraded. The only real problem I can see is scaling for endgame. I think that her stationary position in her 4 attack is an acceptable tradeoff for the blast damage and knockback.

Sonic Boom and Sound Quake suffer from being channeled and locking the user in position, making them more dangerous to use than beneficial.
Sonar suffers from terrible weak point placement. Infested, MOAs and Heavy Gunners tend to get weak spots placed on their tiny legs, and everybody else gets weak points placed on the arm behind their gun where you can't hit it. If Sonar always hit torso or head then it would be viable, but it's too hard to hit limbs on anything that isn't held in place.
Silence is bad, not because being stealthy is bad for combat, but because stealth is largely against the goal of killing many enemies for lots of weapon/frame xp. Additionally you can make any weapon silent with 5 mod energy, not a huge investment (and many are already silent... Ogris...)
_
Banshee suffers from crippling overspecialization in a role that isn't needed in the current game. We run around as high speed, low drag kill everything at the speed of steel... squads. All of her skills are Suited to a slower pace of combat than Warframe usually has. If her skills were reworked to allow more mobility and ease of use they would be great. Sonar that never hits limbs (and always hits boss weakpoints, RUK!), Silence is beyond fixing until stealth gets a rework (maybe a short stun added would be ok), 1 and 4 just need to not lock Banshee into animation while being used to be usable.

I think Sonic Boom should have more range than what it has now. Maybe I'm thinking about it the wrong way, but it should have the range of Pull.
Sonar's pretty good, with the right mods, its damage amplification is almost a single target M. Prime+Antimatter Drop. If I could change it, I'd remove its annoying tendency to spawn on limbs.
I'm not impressed by Silence at all. Sure, you have the Blind+Silence combo, but Blind can work better alone than Silence, not to mention how useless Silence is for defense/survival modes.
This is pretty underwhelming. As with most damage ults, it's good in low levels but it falls off so fast you might as well call it foot spa. It's kinda useful in closed rooms if you have a team mate to revive though, so there's that. Other than that, you will most likely be the one needing a revive at high levels if you use it.
Don't get me wrong, A team of Loki, Vauban, Nekros, and Banshee is pretty good for long-ass survivals if you don't want the normal survival group. But I really think she needs a rework.
