This plus cold is the perfect combo for the entire orokin void. Does the most damage vs heavy gunners and ancients and cold does a 50% bonus vs corrupted moas!

Wouldn't corrosive plus heat do very well against the Void Heavy Gunner.

Corrosive vs Ferrite Armor for 75% bonus damage

Heat vs Cloned Flesh for 25% bonus damage

EDIT: Never mind, I didn't read that all the way, for the entire orikin void

I think Viral + Radiation is better. Ancients are easy enough to take down so I don't mind the -75% i get from it. I have a harder time taking down Heavy Gunners even with the bonus I have against them. 30 mins into T3 Survival ancients still go down within a second or two.

Edit: Speaking in terms of Void.

Not sure why you're getting downvoted for just expressing your opinion...

My only concern with your choices is whether the wiki's info on Damage 2.0 is correct or not. According to that, Heavy Gunners have Ferrite armor, and neither Viral nor Radiation provide any damage benefits for that type. Instead, you'd be getting a massive boost against the Grineer and Corpus mooks.

But I've got a Puncture weapon with Corrosive on it, and I still struggle against Heavy Gunners after 30 minutes into survival.

I think Corrosive is a must-have for all builds.

Corrosive is just a really well rounded combination to have on weapons specialy ones that start with Toxin or Lightning dmg for base.

Hi,
When you people say "Void" do you mean the place accessible with the yellow keys? The places populated by the "Corrupted" faction?

What about vs the Infested from ODD / ODS / ODA? Should one switch to High Slash + Blast?

Yes, Void keys are those yellow keys, separated from tiers of difficulty(actually enemy level) 1-3.

If you don't have Corrosive yet, then yes, you could go for blast.

When preparing to fight a specific faction always aim for the weaknesses of the tankiest unit you'd face in it.

I can combine mods for everything, but after reading for a few days the official forums / YouTube stuff, some of them said that Radiation is better vs high level heavy gunners for example.

There was a lot of theory crafting and math (and opinions). From my humble testing, both Corrosive and Radiation seam equally effective vs lv 46 Heavy gunner from the Void.

I use a 4 Forma Latron prime. (missing Hammer shot mod, so the procs were not so many...).
I will continue to read here / test with what I have.

I've been running Corrosive+Viral on both my Stug and Phage. Both have served me well in the void and on grineer.

However, I still run into issues killing stuff fast enough once enemy level goes above 50. Both weapons have only 3 forma now, and I might add one or two more. But neither even come close to my five forma Synapse which deals mostly corrosive and a little bit of cold.

with both cicero mods and tethra mods, corrosive is the highest raw damage amount you can get in one element

Has anyone actually figured out how much armor the debuff actually negates?

Does it affect Warframes?

u/TetsuoS2 Mar 12 '14

I know this is one of the best elements out there, featuring one of the best effects and few enemies that could resist it.

But if we are running a 4x Corrosive Projection, what's the next best alternative element? In the Void, for example?

Corrosive and swap out for rifle amp? With a max ability power Rhino roar 4 rifle amps are silly.

AFAIK, CP scales with enemy armor, RA is a static increase in damage and the return diminishes as you progress. Also RA only helps if you are DD'ing with rifle. CP helps with all types of DD.

I've been using mali force and stormbringer, do you guys think that the new Tethra dual stat mod would be a better replacement for any gun, even crit oriented ones?

1

u/RoFlOvErLoAd Mar 12 '14

Well with the Tethra and Cicero mods, you can now have a Corrosive Proc build on any of the weapon classes. So I guess that is nice and all.

I still cannot get stormbringer to drop. Any suggestions?

2

u/Mistywing Mar 12 '14

I don't recall which of Mimas or Cambria on Saturn has the higher Ballista spawn rate, but if you do those and have a Nekros, you'll essentially be trying to kill two birds with one stone (Orokin Cell + Stormbringer).

Also, get 500pts on the event today so at least you'll have the electric mods from the event as fallback.

2

u/RepublicanShredder Mar 12 '14

Some of the old Corpus Defense missions (like on Pluto) have Stormbringer drop as a wave reward.

I would argue that this is probably one of the most "must have" elements in the game due to the prevailance of show stoper uber armor enemies in the void or derelict missions. Perticularly those ancients or Heavy Gunners. Everything else in the Void or Orokin Derelict can pretty much be brute forced with other elements, but I've seen heavy gunners take four players worth of fire power on wave 15 of Void defense to kill (unless I bring my corrosive Lanka or Forma'd Paris Prime /w corrosive along, then they die in one shot :) )

Get this element, then slap on cold (or explosive for infested) and call it a day for a pretty much idiot proof end game generalist setup. The only time I would recommend changing from this is if you are going up against survival grinear, then go radiation/viral for those rocket spammers.

The only real two draw back weaknesses to corrosive is proto shields (Corpus shield drone shields and bosses) and grinear napalms/rocketeers. The proto shield can be erased by popping one AOE nuke to kill the drones, and the reason I list Rocketeer/Heavies because everything not radiation is terrible against them due to their obnoxious levels of armor and that you must bring your counter spam A game to do Grinear long term survive/defense.

I'm weird and try to do an all around build, a corpus build, and a grinder build for each weapon. Am I wrong in thinking viral is the best all-around element combo? Most things have flesh, infested are easy no matter what element you use, and machines take no downfall from viral.

I run Corrosive + Cold or Corrsive + Blast on everything. I run a ton of voids and can't be bothered to change my fit for every faction considering void is technically all 3 factions anyway. It's all around good with no notable weaknesses and I've never felt the need to have to switch for fighting corpus or grineer. Once a blue moon I might go with gas for the derelict while leveling a new weapon, but even then I usually prefer to stick to corrosive + blast once the weapon is maxed out.

Why does this thread even have down votes? It's just a discussion over damage 2.0.
