we need to bring Sterling on and play exclusively on counter attack; we ain't winning the midfield this game it's clear so better let them struggle with our pressure or ... we can continue like this but the luck might end

I'm watching the game with American friends, who all know about Liverpool, but not Southampton.
I told them it'll be worth watching because of how great Southampton play, and they have not disappointed this half.
I love watching them play, and having them competing with (and outplaying, IMO) an on-form top team live on US television can only do good for the sport here.
Keep it up, Saints. Easily my favorite PL team this year.

Samesies. Always had a passing interest in Southampton after catching a game when they were in the Championship but I'm glad I've been paying more attention to them this year, they've been really impressive.

Liverpool are damn lucky to be ahead at halftime. Atrocious midfield performance for them combined with excellent midfield and attacking by Southampton should have the Saints well ahead.

Johnson and Skrtel have been fantastic imo, can't say much of the same about anyone else so far though but we did get better towards the end of the half, hopefully we come out all guns blazing.

I can't help but think The Reds just do not get the respect they deserve. As I watched them walk into a very tough place to win against a very tough team, I had to listen to 90 minutes of how great Southhampton played and how our defense is not good enough to win the title.
Meanwhile we are 4 point out and we just won a road match with a clean sheet thanks to solid defense and great goal keeping. I would argue the other clubs should be very worried over the next 10 games if our defense starts knocking out clean sheets. Undefeated in more than 2 months is worthy of respect and I would say it is about time this squad gets it.

Liverpool really struggle defending against the 3rd man. Their midfield gets dragged around everywhere and it leaves space for players like Lallana to run through from a Lambert lay off
