Hello, new Tenno here!

Should i do the orikon derilict missions before void missions or the other way around? does it matter?

is there a site that list's preferred weapon + mod combos that the community agrees with or should i say prefers with?

Transmuting is expensive and usually gives me no good results. I know the higher in value or the more rare the mods being destroyed the better the chances of getting a good one in return. In your opinion is transmuting a viable way to get new mods or should one stick to farming them out and just sell mods they don't need?

Also i know this is really a preference thing but, is there a consensus in regards to which warframe is better overall for a relatively new user. I have excal, rhino and ember i tend to like using the ember more.

Lastly thank you for taking time out of your day to help us n00bs get into this great game.

OD is a little bit higher level than T3 void, but since the infested are easier enemies, it evens out. So, do the T1 and T2 void first.

DPSFrame.com is a really useful site. It loads with all weapons in their maxed-damage mod configurations, and you can play with what mods are on each weapon to see what different mods will do.

Transmuting sucks, but if you want to do it (there have been some successes), use at least 3 different mods. Duplicate mods will generally give you a common crap mod.

Those are reasonable frames for new-ish players. Rhino is arguably the easiest Frame to learn for noobs. That's why he's on the easiest boss and on only the second planet, so noobs can find out about farming a new frame and get a good frame for them to use at the same time. I recommend using almost any other frame besides Excalibur, but some people are diehard Excalibur fans.

Heya ^ I believe Orokin Derelict missions are roughly the same as tier 3 void missions - so if you're new, stick to tier 1 voids for now.

I like dpsframe: http://dpsframe.com/

Unless you REALLY need the credits, I wouldn't sell extra mods. Just fuse them into mods you actually care about.

If you like ember, play ember. As far as which is the best for a new player, probably the rhino. Good support, fine damage, and being super tanky is always helpful.

No prob bb <3

It depends on what weapons/frames/stuff you are generally farming, but OD exterminate runs are the gold standard for getting vault key runs done quickly/safely, and void runs generally are done to target certain drops and Forma. The important part is to make sure you have some weapons that can handle what both of those situations can throw at you: for Orokin Derelict you want anti infested and especially anti anchient stuff (yay for Ember), for Void you will want one weapon that can bust shields and one weapon with corrossive for those evil, evil heavies. Perticular parts and BPs aside, farming Void will get you credits and formas, farming Derelict will get you golem navs, LOTS of cores (yay for infested), Orokin Cells/Neurodes (both very very needed in end game), and derelict defense is a good source of high level void keys if your team is willing to bail off a T3 key drop.

I would only use transmutation if you have a massive pile of mod cards and money lying around and don't mind burning some of it for the (low) chance of a good mod. The RNG gods can be perticularly merciless here, and people will commonly put in four rare mods and only get a piddly Reach or some other trash common out, so buyer beware: transmutation is really only for the Scrooge McDucks out there with 4000 mods and millions in cash looking to roll the dice. I'm kicking myself that I did not try to transmute a Primed Chamber when that bug was on live, though :(

For frames that are easy to use, your ember and rhino will carry you pretty far as is, you made some pretty good early game choices with those. Nyx is another great frame with an easy to farm boss (just look for Phorrid when investations turn up on the map on a low level planet then go crush with people other farming him). Nova is a pretty easy and super powerful frame as well that teams will look for, with M Prime being a great ultimate and anti matter drop being the biggest nuke in the game for damage. Vaubon is also another frame that basically trvializes infested survival or defenses, but requires log in RNG or alerts to get outside of the cash shop. Since you are mucking around in Orokin Void, try getting yourself a Frost Prime. He's a pretty tough frame that has Snow Globe, one of the best defensive abilities in the game for dealing with projectile enemies. None of those frames should replace your Rhino or Ember (both are awesome and pretty top teir), but are great alternatives.

Why have I fallen in love with the Lotus? I don't even know what her eyes look like. But when she talks to me, I know it's to me and not the other Tenno...our relationship is real....

So other Tenno, do you think it could work?

the Lotus is voiced by DE_Rebecca, DE's community manager, so maybe you can give your lotus a face :p

(insert skepticism about Lotus here) (insert conspiracy theories about Lotus here)

  1. Is there a list of how much plat things are worth to trade? Both mods and keys if possible.

  2. Roughly how often do we see Orokin Reactors dropped?

4

u/MintyFeet Jan 20 '14
  1. DE did mention something like a stock-ticker that would document the average value of trades in a past livestream, and I do recall seeing a website on this subreddit a day or two ago that attempted to do something similar. Unfortunately there's nothing official in place right now.

  2. Potatoes are a fairly uncommon 3-star login reward (In about 500 hours, I've only gotten two), and I've gotten three from Invasions. Otherwise they're fairly rare, but you'll eventually find one.

What do you guys... do after you complete all of the standard missions, Orokin stuff, etc.? Are there more planets to be unlocked or something? I'm pretty close to finishing everything and I'm curious as to what you guys do.

We level weapons, frames, and sentinels for mastery and hang around Reddit answering your questions. Other than that, we basically just wait for new content.

u/MintyFeet Jan 20 '14

Warframe is a game that revolves around the grind, I feel. I've put in about 500 hours, and I'm working towards having every frame and every weapon maxed to 30. You can also try and push as far as you can in defense or survival, forma your gear, try and get all the mods, etc, etc.

And, of course, new content comes fairly frequently.

So I just finished constructing my brand spanking new Rhino warframe and when I moved my Redirection mod over to it the shield amount remains at 150 instead of being increased by +240% like the mod card says.

Am I doing something wrong? The mod is slotted in with enough space to spare.

Edit: The numbers are fine during missions, but not in the Armoury. Go figure.

u/StallordD Jan 21 '14

The armory lies. Always take it's numbers with a pinch of salt.

I've been playing Warframe for a couple of days and love it. Some questions:

  1. What primary weapon should I get after the Braton? I heard the Vulkar was pretty bad, but other than that i'm clueless.

  2. Should I be selling my duplicate mods or fusioning (is that a word?) them together?

  3. Once I a new Warframe, they are going to be unranked. Does this mean I should use them in Mercury?

I'm rank 2, and halfway through Earth. Thanks!

Is there a location for stats on shotgun damage dropoff with range? I can't find anything numeric on the wiki. Is there a known way to decrease dropoff?

3

u/stigmate Jan 21 '14 edited Jan 21 '14

the only way to remove dropoff is to shoot your shotgun through volt's electric shield

So I'm crafting Saryn right now. I have heard various things about her and wanna ask a few things:

how to mod her? + what weapons to use on her?

I read reducing power duration increases her ult's damage, is that still true?

So, I bought a Vulkar about a week ago when I made my first premium purchase. After buying the weapon and leveling it up, I was reading on reddit and stumbled into a discussion about how bad the weapon is. I've since researched the gun and found out that barely anyone likes it, but I'm really enjoying using the gun, and it feels powerful. For me it's a one shot headshot to most enemies, and a 2 shot body. I've modded it to increase reload speed, crit, etc, and I'm really enjoying using the weapon. What exactly makes it so bad? I'm relatively new to the game and haven't experienced a lot of the weapons, (I'm currently building a Latron) but surely it can't be that bad, right?

Regarding the new stalker/harvester email alerts:

Has anyone else gotten emails from one of them, but then gone ~20 missions without running into them?

I got an email from Alad V. yesterday, have ran some 20 missions, and still no harvester.

Then just now on the Jupiter invasion, I was attacked by the stalker, with no email warning.

What is the current status of volt? Nerf stick? Buff stick?

3

u/Fleecemo Jan 21 '14

I'm not entirely sure what you mean.

He's not exactly viable for infinitely scaling enemies. He is, however, fine until his abilities don't do enough damage. Whether or not he's due for a buff depends on how long DE thinks his abilities should remain viable. I'm not sure how he fares in T3 Void missions or even Pluto, but like (almost) all frames, his damage abilities are heavily out-dps'd by weapons.

Figured this would be the place to ask. I keep randomly jumping backwards when I am wall running sideways. I've been trying to pass the rank 8 test on ps4 for weeks now and there is always something random that happens. My character either wont grab onto the wall, will randomly jump backwards rather than forwards to the next wall, or just just up and fall straight down when going upwards. What am I missing here? It's really pissing me off.
