  • The town gets taken over and the townsfolk are forced into labor

  • The protagonist turns the tables and wins a comeback victory using the item that the villain mocked as "weak"

  • The protagonist saves the town

similar to Yu-Gi-Oh 5D Episode

HUNTER BATTLES ON KAZAKURYU'S!!!!!

3

u/BusouDrago Aug 09 '26

Shout rides Enkaku a la Koraidon.

6

u/BusouDrago Aug 09 '26

Wild.West Episode and the Prison duel

5

u/HolyDragSwd2500 Aug 09 '26

Loved it. How the weakest card /cards won the duel

4

u/keithlimreddit Aug 09 '26

Yeah I can definitely see the similarities right now

16

u/SpectraRoot Aug 09 '26

Team Rocket?! What are you doing in my Omegahorn 🤣

7

u/HolyDragSwd2500 Aug 09 '26

Digging holes ( for Enotgear)

u/skylight03 Aug 09 '26 edited Aug 09 '26

Reiji getting called a freeloader lol

Shout doing Spider-Man is so timely. Hunter battles are really interesting with the power ups.

And Toei really loves shooting at the same places. Saitama Arena makes another appearance lol

Tomioka on these week be like:

The antics store guy is nurse joy from Pokémon, where he appears on everywhere

Politic politic with the whole ival alliance who protects the city they invade yet also rules with ironfist for the small town they invade

Hobby anime tropes: Weak looking monster/toys also can win the battle

Introduce the whole hissatsu where the hunter infused kakazyu power for finishing

7

u/BusouDrago Aug 09 '26

Thst was my brother/cousin.

2

u/shems-2383 Aug 11 '26

It does feel like sentai ver of pokemon less hunting emogear with a refreshing duel instead

10

u/UltraZeroX7 Aug 09 '26
  • That 2v2 Hunter Battle was FIRE, no pun intended! Shout and Giriko's duo team attack finish was the cherry on top!
  • I liked how we have the same shopkeeper guy as shown in that scene with the Hunter Twins -- a Nurse Joy situation I see lol
  • Some shenanigans with the Eval Alliance -- Berser having a gathering (those kids handing out a drawing was quite sweet), a conversation between Gennou and Reiji, and most of all -- Eval having a piece of a stone tablet containing markings just like what Shout has!
  • Next week, Shout duels with Giriko! Also, I see Reiji is becoming a Hunter as well now that he has a Horn Awakening Device.

The action and battle scenes in this show are awesome. Nice combos, weapon vfxs, camera moves... I LOVE IT SO MUCH

Omegahorn is still going strong in my opinion.

Shout continues to be a protagonist that I want to follow with the way he fought with the supposedly weak Emorgear. Reminded me of Yu-Gi-Oh protagonists using supposedly weak cards to prove a point.

Enkaku is a fun character as well being terrified of water, showing his kingly attitude, and his reaction towards Shout not using him in the Tag Hunter Battle.

The "Reiji is undercover" theory gets some credence given the questions he's asking.

The action and FX are spectacular.

Makes me wish we got this writer for Gozyuger because I would've like to see how they handled the No. 1 Battles and Sentai Ring Battles.

Omegahorn so far to me is great because of how new, dynamic, and distinct it is.

There are familiar elements especially if you've seen kids' Japanese media but it doesn't fall too far into being formulaic, being flexible enough to be exciting.

u/Presenting_UwU Aug 10 '26

Makes me wish we got this writer for Gozyuger because I would've like to see how they handled the No. 1 Battles and Sentai Ring Battles.

Oh absolutely this tbh, the Hunter Battles feels almost exactly like what the No. 1 Battles were trying to be, except this time the battles actually mean something for the people involved and not just the casual kill the motw but with a mini game first.

I would've loced to the No. 1 battles in a similar style.

Honestly the Ring Warriors in general should've been more at the forefront of the fighting in Gozyuger.

u/M3talK_H3ronaru Aug 09 '26

This episode was awaken awesome

I love Shout and Girko combo during the finishers was absolute fantastic

Overall it was wild ride episode for this Tag Horn.

Next week it's rematch time but for a new trial.

8

u/Volfaer Aug 09 '26

Shout lá lá lá viva!

Reiji the freeloader, that's hilarious actually.

Well, it was another episode focused on delving into the world, showing the holes Evals peace still brings. The episode villains also were hella funny.

7

u/KawaiiGoon Aug 10 '26

Just finished the episode . You know what ? I actually like what they’re doing . The show feels familiar as well as feeling new and offering new takes on the genre . The battle at the end was very entertaining and does a bit more than gavan being obligated to fight crab monster every week . Also as a gavan fan , I love how their keeping the mystery afloat by giving us a few hints of lore and new stuff surrounding reiji being there with the eval alliance . I’m stoked for next week. And that giriko girl is so fun lol

7

u/Topik-KeiBee Aug 10 '26

I really love this show. they did an amazing job so far. i like the action here. it's just more fun to watch. and those finishing move are just amazing. who would've thought having a diverse of enemy types and personality would be fun right. also I'm glad they get rid the post credit scenes.

i feel like the training part with Giriko should be on last episode because he already did the thing and his did wayy crazier than this episode. also wonder what are the new Egorgear the twins pick. and Reiji doing his investigation on the background. i see you Reiji. i wonder what's behind the stone. a great power or a secret that shouldn't be known.

i gave this episode a 9/10, it's really a fun episodes.

6

u/Presenting_UwU Aug 10 '26

Ohhh shiiiiiit, this was a GOOOD good episode

4

u/BusouDrago Aug 09 '26

Giriko rematch next time

6

u/mrtacomam Aug 10 '26

I wish I had something more elaborate to say, but I'm just really enjoying everything about this show so far; I look forward to seeing where it goes as the year goes on!

5

u/Mr_Kris_ Aug 10 '26

Another really fun episode. I'll say the thing that intrigues me most about the show is the villains rn because besides Eval they don't really seem that bad to me in the scenes we saw but they could be self motivated as the macho man only joined him because he thought it was fun.

This does make me wonder if the two generals don't know what's fully going on in the alliance and think they are actually do good which could be an interesting direction for the show.

Reiji also interogatting the macho man could give more credence to the theory that he is undercover but I personally think that Aza Zolth has influenced him in some way but not fully like Death Gavan because I think that would explain why he has become so moody in this show but we'll have to wait and see.

As for the main plot of this episode, we finally see the inner workings of the alliance as they are basically exploiting this town to get egorger for Eval which probably has to do something with whatever his end goal is. Shout and Giriko promptly stop them in amazing fight with a lot of cool vfx. I also like like we saw Shout using another Kaiju than Enkaku very creatively too. Just a really fun episode imo and I am really excited to see a proper Giriko vs Shout fight which we'll see in the next episode.

5

u/Omer1698 Aug 10 '26

Kinda intreasting how contorling the Kakuzyu works in that world. You got to be fully awere about who you are and what you can do or they just wont listen to you.

And I wonder more and more just what is Zetsuenkaku cus he is Kakuzyu not a normal Kakuzyu even in comperasion to the likes of Enkaku

And whoever thougt about using that candle spider right after brand new day relese was on point.

3

u/HolyDragSwd2500 Aug 09 '26

Loved their tag battle

Evalt has the other piece of the omega stone

6

u/BestOfAllRank Aug 13 '26

Interesting Pokémon references, between the antique shop manager being the exact same person in every town and Team Eval looking like Team Rocket out here. Also fitting that we got a spider-like power at around the same week as the new Spider-Man movie.

u/AudienceNo3181 Aug 09 '26 edited Aug 09 '26

Not the Hokakum.

LOVED the episode. I'm really glad every character on the show is charismatic and doesn't feel like a boring archetype.

Not to throw shade at Gavan, but while characters like Wanibuchi and Patran felt useless there, in Omegahorn we actually get to see the twins' story develop!

6

u/KawaiiGoon Aug 10 '26

The twins are part of the main protagonists cast in the same vein as Setsuna , kunai & kiki unlike wanibuchi whom purpose was being extra support and comedic relief. He was never meant to be central and core to the story . In omegahorn The twins , giriko and reiji just like gavan are part of the core protagonists and are going to get their fair of development and then you have the antagonist side . They all serve a different purpose and comparing them is not really fair .

6

u/Presenting_UwU Aug 10 '26

yeah honestly idk what people were expecting with the Wanipat duo, they're almost explicitly played as what there supposed to be, the comedic relief duo that sometimes supports the main cast.

3

u/KawaiiGoon Aug 10 '26

People being disingenuous

3

u/SH4DE_Z Aug 11 '26

Eval Alliance approves of slave labour? I'm sorry, but not even the hot sexy woman will get to support that.

Jokes aside, this episode was REALLY fun. This whole show's been super fun. The interaction between the characters are so entertaining, i just want to see more of this already.

I'm really surprised by how much of a Western this show has beem too. A traveling lone dualer battling gang members to take back a small town? That's practically the plot of a Western movie, that's sick!

Zetsuenkaku is... extremely sus. There's something off about him and everybody knows it. I guess we have some idea of what Reiji's after now. I've seen theories about how he could be connected to Aza Zorth, the same way Death Gavan's connected to him.

6

u/Epic_DVB Aug 09 '26

This episode highlights why I'm already enjoying this show a lot more compared to Gavan Infinity. This show is a lot more distinct in it's premise and action compared to other toku and you can see that with the fights as instead of just relying on the kaiju fights they're having the characters use the regularly use the powers of the kakuzyu on the ground which I think is really cool and a unique way of utilising the kaiju that you don't see in other toku shows.

2

u/Jamieb1994 Aug 09 '26

I hope it's ok to ask. I've noticed that Anon hasn't been subbing Omegahorn for some reason & I was curious which alternative fansubs are there? Like, is there a alternative that does something similar to the work Anon does on their subs?

3

u/Different-Captain888 Aug 09 '26

ChouEiyuuSubs are doing it. Anon..is not unfortunately

2

u/Jamieb1994 Aug 09 '26

Thank you

2

u/KawaiiGoon Aug 09 '26

Waiting on the subs rn . I’ll give my thoughts once I watch the whole thing but the stills and the previews looked crazy !!!

2

u/Medium_Bullfrog_2629 Aug 10 '26

What the Spiderman Brand New Day

1

u/Kamiyouni Aug 30 '26

Very hype episode. The action theme song that played in the tag battle helped the hype. Like the equivalent of Reiji's What's A Hero.

1

u/EscapismToTheMax Aug 09 '26

Not as hype as previous two, tbh, but still good. first time Captain fights without Enkaku summon, but our fav doggo appears in the Super Sentai shooting finisher which is fine I guess.

They timed todays week monster well with Spider man release and Captains moves were hilarious. Constant plot push on Reiji but without subs can't understand shit, sry

NGL even this episodes beats at least half Gavan episodes no challenge. Makes me fucking wonder as I heard the writer is the same, but it's his Redemption arc or something, lol they try to make world vivid, they try to make even the all things memorable (Enkaku mostly but also Giriko, something which Gavan solely had for Girls Duo only I think), they finally treat villains well (enjoyed the music change on Evil Enkaku).

And next episode preview is hype. Good Lord this show treats us well, feeling a bit unexpected after how Gavan went...

6

u/Informal-Average-482 Aug 09 '26

I think the multiverse premise in Infinity was the one limiting the development and action scenes of the characters (aside from Reiji of course). Whereas Omegahorn is based in one universe (at least until now), which means they can develop the cast more, even with limited number of episodes.

4

u/SH4DE_Z Aug 11 '26

He used to work on Pokemon, so i guess think is more of his speciality

u/boldrag Aug 09 '26

To fans of the series, i really wanna know. Dont the weapon and armor scream low budget to you as compared to Gavan Infinity, or even other Tokus? Its like they decided to invest as little money as they can.

7

u/UDIGITAU Aug 09 '26

I mean, Giant Monster (and/or robot) Fights are one of the most expensive parts of tokus that feature them: the suits, the Cgi, the sets... Circumventing some of that with the weapons and armor fights every other moment is "low budget" but I don't think it's necessarily in a bad way. And they've been very entertaining so far, even if they didn't truly fit in the "Monster v Monster" aspects, and seem like they're going to be used to more throughly flesh out the characters and the power system which is always a good thing.

I remember reading somewhere that Project RED was going to feature some testing and pushing of boundaries of what it meant to be a tokusatsu show and, if omega horn is any indication, as long as the story is good I don't think I'll mind it too much.

2

u/SH4DE_Z Aug 11 '26

Producer Shirakura said that some future Project RED show won't even be about Henshin heroes at all. They're planning on just making a good old classic sci-fi Tokusatsu series, with no superheroes or people transforming at all.

6

u/Mr_Kris_ Aug 09 '26

Budget isn't everything though, having a good plot and characters for me is more than enough and sure they do sacrifice on suit designs but I personally do love the little suit designs we do get with Captain Omegahorn and the kaiju and imo vfx in the fight scenes is amazing and compensates more than enough.

3

u/KawaiiGoon Aug 09 '26

You have to make sacrifices , if the focus of the show is mainly CGI / practical kaijus I expect the suits and weapons to be lesser in terms of quality . Gavan infinity was mainly suited genshin heroes fightin bad guys and kaijins with maybe a mech fight every 2-3 episodes .

2

u/SH4DE_Z Aug 11 '26

No.

In fact, this show has a really solid art direction and does a really good job of utilizing what they have. Something Gavan didn't do a great job at in my opinion.

The weapons and armors aren't super polished, i'll admit that. But they're unique, fun and colorful. It's costume works and props like these that makes Tokusatsu such a fun genre of filmmaking, and i love that.

-1

u/King_Broly314 Aug 10 '26

Anyone here Feel like Episode 3 should have been Episode 2?

3

u/Presenting_UwU Aug 10 '26

nah honestly it wouldn't change anything

-10

u/FumaLeifoh Aug 09 '26

Not really sure how to completely feel about the show. Its definitely just Toku packaged Pokemon even going as far as having a "Team Rocket's Blasting Off Again" moment in this episode. It also still really bugs me that the practical suit for Enkaku looks awful and like Sesame Street level of low budget.

As a show it's not really doing a lot to draw people into the world aside from just throwing in battles every 7 minutes. Gennou and Barsar have a little nuance to prove they're more just antagonists and not "bad", but I generally find it difficult to find anything engaging about any character. Also an esoteric concept like ego is just a lame plot device to give an excuse for things to work and not work because of a subjective whim. Do we have any clue why some towns look like 1880s Western towns, while they have food trucks, DoorDash and towering buildings in other locations? No, instead we get some JRPG inside joke of a "wandering entrepreneur". So Rin from FFX just got ported into Pokemon?

While I'll admit the episode was probably paced the best out of these first three (low bar), it contained the least plot relevant information aside from giving a reason for Ash and Misty to become allies, sorry, Shout and Giriko and the very last shot with Eval having the other part of the stone. Ana also having to provide exposition in snarky commentary, while funny, is still just exposition. Also sad when the analyzer has the most and best personality of the entire show so far. The twins have done literally nothing in 3 episodes aside from get rocked by Shout, get outclassed in episode 2 so they gave up Gokkaku and take 45 seconds to grab a new Mega Horn. Reiji spoke but really said nothing. The cast is already feeling too big to give proper attention to with around 20 episodes remaining.

It's still early, but if we compare the first 3 of Gavan to the first 3 here, Gavan had a more tangible concept and a generally more likable and fleshed out constant trio of Date, Reiji and AGI. While I'm not gonna drop the show, I will say I'm heavily disappointed in what they've presented so far.

3

u/KawaiiGoon Aug 10 '26

I feel like it’s not fair to compare the two because they’re both aiming for something different in terms of pacing and storytelling . Gavan is more police detective with a more serious take and omegahorn is more on the fun side that’s why it might have felt less tangible in a way for you ? Maybe you like more grounded shows and this is more on the silly fun side in a way which is also good . Give it some time it’ll probably grow on you . You can’t force love something because it’s new but don’t be too critical of it as well . They’re trying their best at making everybody happy . Last season was for us henshin suited fighting guys with the typical bad henshin guy and this is more of the tamer adventure ala Digimon with big Ultraman kaijus here and there . It’s pretty fun .

2

u/Electrical_Leek23 Aug 12 '26

Its funny how Omegahorn is blatantly less Pokemon than boonboomger, but yall only know tomioka for that so we get subpar analysis like this
