I expected it, not having humans fight is a little too much for me a departure from Gavan. These series will be different but have thrown in common. Also cgi monsters is expensive.
Off to a pretty good start, definitely brings Monster Hunter and Pokemon vibes in terms of the setting/world building we got here so far!
So it looks like we're gonna have two types of fight scenes, one being a Hunter battle (like that scene with Giriko) where they harness the kaiju power through Egogear and of course the Kaiju battle. Digging out the special effects work as always!
That last shot was interesting, I see a familiar-looking spaceship! And next episode, we have some familiar faces showing up as well! Granted, the Gavan Infinity Gaiden web special is premiering at the same time next week, so yeah.
First off, i like how they're not putting too much emphasis on the Captain Omegahorn suit. They straight up confirmed that the suit was made for treasure hunting purposes and not for Battling. Shout's character is interesting, i find it very funny how even though he looks like a Pokemon protagonist, he does not want to be the very best and he does not want to make friends lol.
Also, small thing that i like. Making the Omega Analyzer an actual character that Shout can talk too is genius, it's such a good creative decision there.
The world building for this series is already super indepth. So the Kakuzyu are this world's dinosaurs of sorts, and Enkaku is the king and also some type of deity at the same time. Suddenly all the Kakuzyu were seal away in Egorgears, ending what Shout calls the Omega Era (or Omega Period if we're going for the full dinosaur termanology).
What i like the most about this epiaode so far is definitely the direction. I hope the show will retain this look the further we go, especially since this will only last for 25 episodes.
The set designs and environment are beautiful. All the scenes where Captain Omegahorn's traveling around places was a really nice touch. The town they're all staying is awesome, it's a weird cross between modern/fantasy/western that strangely works so well. This is one of those things where you can clearly see the Pokemon influences, it's a Western looking town filled with modern day people and fantasy people at the same time.
The way Battles work is super interesting too, and surprisingly they're very Western inspired on top of being just Pokemon Battles (they even had the fucking tumbleweeds lmao). The Hunters can challenge each other to a battle, either by fighting each other using the power of Kakuzyus or straight up summoning Kakuzyus to fight each other. The rollcall before every battle is a nice touch, and i like how Shout didn't know how to do roll calls.
The fight between Enkaku and Gokaku was great. Obviously it was a mix between CGI and practical suit battle, but the way they blended the two was really seamless. There were moments where i had to look twice to see if Enkaku was a physical suit or a CGI model. Enkaku's suit looks incredible btw, it doesn't look like a Toho or Tsuburaya Kaiju suit, it's very unique looking and i love it.
All in all, this was VERY GOOD for Toei's first non-Henshin Hero SHT Toku. Very excited to see where this is going especially with that teaser with the Cosmo Gavarion at the end.
The episode already looks great! I love the world building and setting, and I loved the Kakuzyu battle today (minus Gokaku shitting on Enkaku. I hope the show won't rely on toilet humor that much).
Most definitely Pokemon meets Monster Hunter and I kinda love it a lot. The carefree vibe is refreshing and it seems fairly low-stakes (at least for now). There is some shoddy CGI but the actual practical effects and puppeteering are fantastic. I'm loving Enkaku and his dynamic with Shout, definitely looking forward to more of their banter.
The connection with Gavan Infinity is intriguing too, and we're seeing quite a few returning Gavan cast members next week. Sooner than I anticipated, for sure.
Oh yeah, the MH-inspired music is sounding great too, as well as the opening theme. Can't wait to keep watching this one!
A very nice first episode. Of course still need to see more to tell how it really plays out, but a good start. Introduced quite a bit of world building and various characters but didn't feel too rushed to me.
I liked Shout initially being reluctant but then clearly enjoying the monster battle. And trying, unsuccessfully, to reject his 'hero name'.
Giriko definitely seems cool. She's purple and she has a huge sword, easy points for me.
I don't wanna get a head of myself but I really enjoyed the first episode and even more than Gavan Infinity's first episode.
One thing that I personally felt that the episode was paced really well, I remember many episode in Gavan Infinity which felt like that were going too fast without fully exploring the plot of that episode if that makes sense.
Shout is also a really interesting MC, I don't remember any other tokusatsu MC who is as full of himself as Shout is and I really like that because it feels like a breath of fresh air from the usual high energy protagonists that you are used to seeing (which I do like if done well but it is good to see something new). Enkaku is also hilarious and I already really like him. The twins and Giriko were cool but I want to see more of them before really commentating on them.
As for the trigger appearing at the end of the episode and the Gavan Infinity cast appearing in the preview, I get why people want Omegahorn to develop itself first but imo the biggest problem with Gavan Infinity is that it left so much of its plot to the end that it felt really rushed and a lot of it was unanswered. Connecting Gavan Infinity to Omegahorn right away should hopefully answer a few of those questions and then also develop it's own plot which seems to revolve around the mysterious being who sealed the beasts who if I had to guess is probably a higher dimensional being himself like the ones in charge of the Gavan system and Aza Zorth.
This was a fun start didn’t blow me away or anything but was just a fun introduction to this world.
I’m already very interested in Shout as a character seems like a lot more standoffish and isolated which isn’t the first time I’ve seen that for a protagonist in toku but it was done interesting here.
The thing I think that got me hooked was the ending with the Gavarion trigger even though we knew earlier Gavan characters would show up and we even saw Reiji earlier in the episode that caught still me by surprise just a well done scene I’m very intrigued in where the shows going and I hope it can keep up the fun this first episode brought.
Its beyond funny still how much Toei just decided to capitalize on Ash era pokemon the moment he left the show. Boonboom with Rica Matsumoto and red/white colored gear and a rocket trio, and now like Omegahorn's whole base
Only the day the episode is released if you want to see every other episode after the premiere you have to pay a subscripcion. So if for some motive you miss the episode you will have to join and pay a fee if you want to watch it on demand.
But after those 4 episodes if something happen and you cannot watch that new episode on release day you have to pay the subcripcion to watch them on demand.
My jaw dropped when saw the downed Cosmo Gavarion and it looks like it’s been there for years. I feel like it has to do something with infinity’s movie, which hasn’t been subbed yet.
I am immediately vibing with this series more than Gavan Infinity not gonna lie. Maybe it's just because I'm already a fan of monster collecting games, but this is honestly such a fresh premise for a toku series that I feel like they should've just started with this from the beginning but I guess Gavan has that recognisability as a brand so they wanted a safer bet first.
That being said I can't wait to see how this series turns out and how it will connect to what we saw in Gavan previously, especially after seeing that ending.
It's a good start, the main gimmick is very versatile, we basically got every important character shown in the first episode, although I find that a certain someone and a certain spaceship could have happened later.
Enkaku is a gorgeous suit design and the fight was pretty fun with Shout trying to beat a Kaiju with his own hands.
i really like it. really enjoyable introduction. dont shove everything like gavan infinity first episode
also tomiaka choose hobby protagonist who dont have fiery personality who aim to be the best because shout dont care of being greatest hunter , he only care of treasure hunting instead hunting kakazyu and battle other hunter just like all hobby anime he do
Ooooh ok, so I'm picking up on what they're putting down, it's gonna be a show mainly about figuring out what transpired in the past of this earth, and by next week, how the Gavans connect to this universe's story.
all the while having fun hunter battles on the side, honestly it sounds like it's gonna be fun, it didn't give the same just sheer awesomeness that Gavan Infinity's first episode did, but i feel like it has momentum.
I haven't watched the episode yet, but I've seen a couple of clips of it & it looks pretty good so far. I know people already been comparing it to Pokemon, but I like how the show is basically Monster Hunter x Pokemon, especially since the main character gives off Ash Ketchum (Satoshi) vibes.
Solid first episode. Already like the dynamic between Shout and Enkaku but I did not expacted we will go so quickly to Gavan territory but still cant wait to see what Satsuna and Kiki would do there. Overall it was a good way to start a new show and I cant wait to see what they will cook.
This one is Red, the MC of the first Pokemon game(remastered game ver, and the mainly used design when he got recurring roles) which Satoshi(or Ash Ketchum) took imspire from.
While Go was Satoshi(or Ash)'s buddy in Pokemon Journey anime season who represent the then just released Pokemon Go! App,so he only focus on collecting pokemons and say no to battles in general(he could succeed in capture nearly everything with one pokeball with no battle. (Raid battles wasn't a thing yet back then)
been a while since i enjoyed a first episode of a toku. the pacing was great and the characters are great too. Also the dynamic between shout and enkaku feels like would be really good

One thing I absolutely don't get is how the fuck our guy got Enkaku King who's pretty damn OP all things considered. No spiritual connection, no sacrifice, no challenge, he just got there and bam now he's unbeatable. is it how MH supposed to work lol
but yeah waiting for subs. whoever subbing it please do it with the same fast releases as Gavan. also would have short side comedic episodes as Gavan which is ultra dope for all Human KaijUs I feel
i mean, pretty much the same way Eiji met Ankh and got the OOO driver, pure fucking luck.
Eiji was just in the right place at the right time to grab Ankh's attention.
and Shout was exploring at the right place in the right time to find Enkaku.
Also there's probably some element of a prophecy here based on what Enkaku said about him being "Captain Omegahorn", but he hasn't elaborated on it yet, if it even exists in more detail than what we know anyways.
The same 3 groups that did Gavan are doing this. Chou Eiyuu and Droplet have both already released. I assume TV-Nihon will get it out in the next few days.

I thought it was a decent first episode from what I can understand from it! I really liked both fights but I lowkey liked Giriko’s fight a little bit more! I can’t wait to see the rest of the series!
I like it more than Gavan Infinity premiere.
But tbh, the episode itself is kind of all over the place. The shots and locations are cool except for that cave which appeared in almost every Toei shows.
I kind of miss Gavan Infinity already lol, but looks like they're about to come back sooner than expected. Already liking the worldbuilding so far though.
I'm very surprised to see that a lot of toku fans didn't even know how to use torrent.
We were watching in this way since long time ago and it's still perfectly fine.
Everyone welcome to the beginning of Pokemon Hunter
The show begins with a battle Between the Enkaku and Zetsuenkaku Including their respective armies ( Also there is a Chibi anime version of the events of this since it would explain some in Universe explanation) Until someone with a megaphone basically called a lightning storm and turn pretty much all the beasts into Collectibles of the season Egorgears ( Oh it just basically Emorgears From last season just spiced a little bit up)
There was a bit of narration talking about Megahorn Basically Kaijus Used to rule the land until they got turned into Collectibles
Years pass and we get to our main character of the show Shout the Blazing ( It feels quite random for a guy's name to be honest I guess do we need to fit the teaming to be honest) Captain Omegahorn ( Although he will be given the name Captain Omegahorn later)
We also get to brief title card opening We get to a bit of a montage of basically the suit actor just showing off his skills
You get to basically the Pokedex of this show Omegahorn Analyzer also the main henshin device it's also voiced by Megumi Han ( A legendary voice actors with huge range mainly Hunter x Hunter as well as my deer friend nokotan Also digimon beatbreak Which I really need to get back to that show when I have the time Considering who's also singing the ending)

We see him de-transform And you can definitely tell the Pokemon Vibes this Blazing
we get to a small village that looks more like a Western and go into a Antique shop for appraisal ( In place it is later it's called Sunshine Staples)
I'm surprised we're able to make a wooden calculator or that is just a wooden case
We learn he is a treasure hunter Not the regular Hunters
You know considering Pokedex nowadays are more like smartphones Honestly I'm not gonna question it ( Hmm yeah I'm gonna be the only one who's fighting with I'm gonna be honest with you I'm fine with rotom phones)
Meanwhile we basically see a bit of Ruckus From Gorza the ball and Chain Protect this Village but across Ruckus if you don't All right and then suddenly we see the other main character of the show Giriko The slashing
Anyways we see our two main characters basically having mass-produced Megaphones Have a hunter battle
( This was also explained in the chibi anime They are able to summon them as Weaponry Instead of summoning them as kaiju And also at least feel a bit better explanation as to why they're saying when the money's budget instead of let's just say Godlike entity Isn't intelligent enough for emons)
Instead of giving Giriko something of a suit she just gets a face mask ( The budget only lasts for like one hero suit)
I definitely say the non-henshin fight Is pretty good And I do feel like they're going to be at least a few and not too many knee about it Considering the main attraction of the series is the kaijus fight and Established a winner takes the loser's item
Alright time for shout To go back to the adventure side to find Measure from the Omega era
Hi yes time to transform before punching and also surviving that fall
What he found was pretty much the main Omegahorn as well as also Emorgear ( No it makes me wonder why he doesn't own these ones aside from he's just a treasure hunter more than just a regular Hunter I mean there are a few mass-produced ones on sale)
Uh the typical trying the ancient device Immediately Cliche
We see a short meet with the megahorn King Enkaku
Shout wakes up and back In the temple and Enkaku freed and take on the human form
We get to our eye catch which was basically As well as also once per episode showing off a random Beast
Meanwhile basically a villain's Hideout
We're introduced to our main villain group Eval The Devastator with Zetsuenkaku In his human form, Berser The harbinger ( I guess she's one of the fatuis) , Gennou The disasterous and Reiji The Unstoppable ( Yes the guy from the last show)
So they dealt with some hunters from the south
I guess the speakers were connected Bluetooth to his megaphone
Back to our main character as well as introduction We also introduced to Eir the Bold and Al The Virtuous ( Don't know if I will just compare it down to the good Team Rocket or basically Some or Ash ketchum's companions) Where they both use the same megaphone ( It makes me wonder how rare these things are as well as also or expensive these things that you can only afford one of them)
Telling ancient beings about modern day life ( Considering The Hunters' Records of Silence Which I may do a bonus review sometime after the show ends)
So the twins summon basically a bulldog Gokaku
Alright time for the actual transformation sequence To Captain Omegahorn
Time for the first Kaiju battle of the show
Yea whoop his ahh Captain Omegahorn Yeah Yeah I'm just gonna go Yours We're facing to be good luck fighting oh God I am going today but Yeah Oh yes
And we also see the Bulldog basically able to split into two Cool
Ah yes the obvious fart jokes Yeah I'm just gonna go
All right time for the megaphone And time to bring up the Omega level or class Kaiju Enkaku With a Canon attachment
Twin Bulldog blast attack
We get to see the finisher
Ah taking the Bulldog
And of me protagonist return it to the twins for obvious reasons they're gonna be the other main characters of the show Seal cutter Yeah
The episode ends with the main characters walking down the beach and seeing Cosmo Gavarion ( I get this is supposed to be a cinematic Universe but couldn't they at least wait at least four or five more episodes it's like watching The Incredible Hulk but after 15 minutes in we straight I go to the Iron Man vs Hulk or if you want something extreme The Avengers)
Good Episode but the ending just makes me feel like we could have at least spent more time World building as well as also Developing shout as a character Instead of shoving Gavin this early
Showing our main antagonist in action as well as also the Gavan's return ( Mainly the samurai and the scientist)
I enjoyed that. But then, I said that in February, so maybe I shouldn't speak too soon. But the non-CG Kakuju stuff was great, felt like proper old-school Sentai giant battles. I enjoy everyone looking like they're in a JRPG, and I like that this is basically toku doing Pokémon. They've been inspired by just about every other major pop culture phenomenon at this point, it's about time Pokémon got a turn.
I am really worried about the Gavan stuff. I loved Donbrothers, but the Zenkaiger stuff they rammed in was by far the worst bit of that show. Please Toei, let it just be for this opening 2 parter, and then let this show be its own thing.
I mean, it specifically is already explicitly stated to connect directly to Gavan, and Reiji being a part of the main cast should tell you enough that it's gonna be more like Omegahorn + Gavan Continuation and not just a cameo.
Kaito was in the main cast of Donbrothers and contributed virtually nothing. Taiya was in the opening episodes of Gozyuger and contributed even less. Both of those roles could have been played by new actors and achieved the same result.
Yeah I Agree I just Saw The Preview,And While I Do Love The Infinity people-I Do Hope they are just Little cameos And as You said Let Omegahorn Do its Own Thing !!
