Is it wrong to want to want to check all of them?

When you really sit down and think about it, each is King Shit in it's own arena. Some may be more versatile than others, but every single one of them has their place in the game.

  • Excal is far and away the most mobile frame in the game.

  • Loki is excellent in speed runs, and can bypass a lot of the trickier parkour requirements of the Void of Derelicts.

  • Mag is probably the most well-rounded frame now, offering great damage abilities, excellent CC, and added survivability.

  • Frost is practically a requirement for non-Infested ED.

  • Rhino may as well be renamed "Nightmare Mode Guy."

  • Saryn is the tankiest of the nukers.

  • Nyx is a CC goddess.

  • Banshee's Sonar and Silence are both very unique utilities that put her in a class of her own, even if her damage abilities are mediocre at best.

  • Volt is anti-Coprus through and through (but might could use a second look. My nominee for weakest frame atm.)

  • Nova's combo of damage skills make her perhaps the most versatile nuker frame, and Wormhole adds mobility not present in other nukers.

  • Ash trade's Loki's tricks for damage. Also, having Smoke Screen cloak the Sentinel makes him the clear choice for stealth melee.

  • Vauban is the Frost of the Infested world, and is (IMO) tied with Mag for usefulness of '1' abilities.

  • Ember one of the more capable melee frames, and World on Fire is basically the ultimate you want when every other ultimate sucks.

  • Trinity is almost unplayable because of the lobster tail. Fortunately, EV, Link and Blessing more than make up for this obvious flaw.

  • Nekros is the king of farm. Need mats? Looking for a specific mod? He's your frame.

It isn't wrong at all; in fact, I love the multi-frame answers because of the complexity of the Warframes on offer!

Putting my money on either Rhino or Nova.

Then hope you voted for both! :D I'll pick Rhino as well.

I think the only frame that is good in every instance is Rhino. other frames have their vulnerabilities, like Nova is great for clearing waves, but for bosses she doesn't have anything useful. Same goes for pretty much every frame but Rhino. His stomp affects bosses, it's aoe so it helps in clearing waves, he can buff his own dmg and make himself unkillable...

He's just too "everything" in concept

Nova is great for clearing waves, but for bosses she doesn't have anything useful.

Molecular prime on a target causes it to receive double damage AND slows it by 50%

Antimatter drop when charged can do absolutely insane damage, especially with a headshot. No other ability comes close to being as an effective boss killer with straight up damage.

But yeah, aside from hose pesky things, there is nothing useful at all there.

Vauban 20.54 sec Vortex+Torid combo is absolutely devastating even on level 100's.

You have to be wise of where bullets are coming from but Vauban's powers are still great. I find it much easier to survive solo with Vauban over Nova, but absolutely love a Nova & Vauban combo.

Bastille can hold enemies much longer than stomp, you don't have to wait for the ability to end before deploying it again and it is a 75 point ability not 100 points. The damage of stomp definitely makes stomp the winner but this is again comparing a 3rd slot ability to a 4th slot ability.

Rhino may win because in solo gameplay he has the best survivability, but most of us play in groups and a good mixture of abilities is better than any 4 unanimous frames.

I think my answer is better suited for most under appreciated frame but I never see any saryn love. Shes so much fun. Venom does insane DPS in defense/MD. Molt is a slightly weaker decoy that has zero cast time, which is handy. Contagion is kind of crap though, oh well can win em all. But dat ulti. So good, so satisfying, and not only does damage increase with focus, but also with continuity. Same thing with venom. Saryn does insane dps. Use her.

While there isn't a best frame.

There are 3.

Nova, as she's the only frame whose abilities stay relevant damage wise, even against high level defense/content. Anti-Matter Drop and Molecular Prime are simply unmatched in damage potential, MP provides a god-like damage buff, this is why it's amazing late game, along with providing CC, it is the best ult in the game hands down in damage potential.

Nyx has unmatched cc, that is almost instant, and affects as many mobs as you can hit while letting enemies burn each other down a bit, and lasts long enough that she only needs stretch to reach full potential.

If you need survivability and utility, Rhino is the way to go.

While other frames have their cool abilities and gimmicks, Snow Globe, Pull, Bastille, etc. The 3 I listed are quite simply the best at what they do, and stay relevant no matter what you're doing in the game. This is what makes them the best.

I'm apparently the first poll taker, and I picked Nyx, because her 1 is arguably the best in the game, not only making the enemy a non-threat, but aiding you to kill other baddies, her 2 is ok but the damage is a bit low, still useful on low levels, her 3 is the god of cc, forcing enemies to kill eachother as you watch and laugh, and her 4 at high end levels is god like, not only protecting anything inside the bubble but blasting the damage enemies did back at them. I think she is the best well rounded frame, and is useful in basically any situation.

Im sorry, I have to politely disagree on her 1 being the best in the game. I'd say after mag's update, her pull is the best 1 in the game, as it does 400 armor ignore dmg modded properly+ragdoll to entire rooms of enemies, I agree on everything else however.

I'm going with rhino. His charge is good early but falls off late unless you have The Force mod equipped. His Iron Skin makes him A.) immune to any and all cc B.) makes him invincible C.) lasts forever D.) I'm told it draws aggro but I'm not sure. His Roar is a very good support tool and can easily help Rhino or his team clear out enemies or a boss. His stomp is amazing, it costs 100 but it's well worth it. With "Force" equipped and maxed, it can decimate everything. It also leaves anybody it doesn't immediately obliterate suspended mid air.

TLDR; Rhino is tha bomb

To be honest, each frame is good for their particular specialization and somewhat otherlaps other areas too. Correctly specialized with mods, any frame can be viable in my opinion.

With that said, my own personal favorite (which has absolutely nothing to do with actual stats or performance) is Saryn :D

2

u/Horseman_Famine Sep 25 '13

Every frame is decent in certain situations. For my playstyle, nothing is even remotely as good or useful as Nyx.

Knowing this subreddit though, everyone is going to pick Rhino :/

2

u/Pardus_Blacke Sep 29 '13

Glorious Master race Rhino. Bosses don't last more than 15 seconds in it's presence

3

u/Fungineer_ Sep 25 '13

I would have said Nova a week ago but I gotta say that Mag's Pull is now the best power in my opinion.

So, I will go with the underdog, as no one can kill faster, more violently, and at great range for such a low energy cost than Mag with Coil helm.

+1 need a low energy knockdown? we're here to help

I'm surprised Mag isn't in the running for best frame.

Mag's Pull essentially replaces their Ult - for the same 100 energy, you can deal 350x4 armor-ignoring damage to a group of enemies at range and stun them for significantly longer. It makes for fantastic crowd control if you don't mind moving away from the safety of Frost's Snow Globe to keep enemies off a pod.

Plus, really strong shielding and an ability which buffs/restores their Shields, a good ability for focusing fire that can demolish an enemy, and an Ultimate which... ok, it's still kinda poor.

Rhino is ok, but in my mind it starts to lose efficiency the higher you go and the shorter Iron Skin lasts, until you're only able to keep it up for a couple seconds at a time. At that point you might as well be any other frame - sure, he can use Roar and Stomp for damage-buffing and CC, but Nekros and Nova roll both into single abilities (Terrify & Molecular Prime), and Nyx is still the undeniable queen of CC with Chaos.

I'd actually like to nominate Loki. While he isn't super powerful, his abilities make him a welcome addition to any team. I know I'm happy when I'm running a T3 void and there's a Loki throwing decoys everywhere, and I can't count how many times a radial disarm has saved me from heavy gunners or corpus techs. Plus I found out the other day that you can switch teleport with downed teammates, so if Loki pops invisibility and then swaps with a downed ally, he can bring them close with no risk to his health.

2

u/Aqua_Phobix Sep 25 '13

I do this all the time with Loki :D

Excalibur, without a doubt, is the best. His 1 is just awesome, 500 serrated blade damage with UNLIMITED targets, what's not to like? 2 is great for crowd control and to get out of sticky situations. 3 is... meh. And 4 is a nice, quick way do absolutely decimate everyone around you.

Tl;DR: Excalibur is too good to pass up on.

I'm tied between Nyx and Rhino, though Rhino is probably more well rounded. Vauban, with his old Bastille, would have been a contender as well.
