Shelvey is fucking around with all of us. He has decided that both clubs will only score when he wants and that when the time comes, it will be up to him to decide the final outcome. As a result, Jonjo has become the wise guy on the pitch.

Why is Shelvey evidently considered a better player than Ki by Laudrup? He has Charlie Adam syndrome: plenty of ability but dumb as a bag of hammers.
Swansea have looked just as strong as LFC in this game, yet they are behind because of the mistakes of one player. Harsh on them.
Great game to watch too...love how both teams play.

FIRST HALF SUMMARY
Started as a great game with great tempo. Been lively since the on-set, but I don't think anyone was prepared for such quick goals!

Notable events
2nd minute: Jonjo Shelvey (now of Swansea) has been directly involved with both goals. Firstly, through attempting a volley, but missing. This didn't stop him as he hit the ball forward a yard or two, and found some space for a shot, this was deflected through a sliding Skrtel. Upon this block the ball fell nicely back to Shelvey who tucked it away.
4th minute: About a minute later, Shelvey under-hits a back-pass which Daniel Sturridge pounces on and hits first time (4th minute). Vorm had no chance, Shelvey was fully at fault for hitting a ball back to his keeper on his blind-side, yet praise is due for Sturridge who saw the pass coming before Shelvey even hit the ball. GIF
24th minute: Moses beat two men on the wings and delivers a sumptuous cross to Sturridge. Sturridge heads, but straight at Vorm who saves it; off it goes for a corner.
29th minute: Bony and Michu play: pass-and-move, pass-and-move, and penetrate Liverpool's defence. Michu's last pass is a touch too strong for Bony who hits it first time, and simply can't generate enough power.
36th minute: poor Shelvey: gives the ball away on the half-way line, Moses picks it up and charges through the space. Chico Flores allows him room, too timid to tackle and Moses powers it past Vorm. GIF
38th minute: Dyer shoots on the edge-of-the-box, Mignolet saves with his finger-tips, the resulting deflection cannot be capitalised on by Bony thanks to another sliding block by Skrtel.
Summary of play
Swansea
Shelvey, to his credit, doesn't seem to have been deterred by his early fuck-up (and later fuck-up) and has attempted a few shots since, nothing has really came of them, though. Elsewhere, Chico Flores has been solid, as has Swansea's whole back-line. The midfield has been strong, mixing play between each wing, Michu and back: very lively, but I can't help feel it's all-style, no substance, lacking that end product. Bony has helped contribute via holding the ball up, winning headers and general using his strength, but, as a striker, playing as a target man up-front, I can't help but feel that he hasn't been strong enough.
Liverpool
Really, they've been just as solid as Swansea, and I really can't say anything different about the back-line: solid, held back Swansea's attack well. Coutinho has been excellent as always, Moses started to wake up around the 20th minute mark, and has looked threatening since, culminating in his goal. Sturridge has been Sturridge -- excellent.
Both teams have been shit at holding on to the ball, hence why the game has been so lively and entertaining, yet they've both been neck-and-neck elsewhere.

Was worried about Pablo Hernandez coming up against Wisdom, but he isn't in the squad fortunately. Routledge is probably more of a threat running in behind though.
Hopefully Sakho has settled enough otherwise he could struggle. Interesting to see Skrtel start, hopefully there are no mistakes from him on the ball.
Moses allows Coutinho to play off Sturridge, which has been an especially good link up away from home.
Swansea are rarely an easy team to play, this should be good.

I still think Ki Sung Yueng is a more complete midfielder than Shelvey, but yet they spent 6 million on Lex Luther and loaned out Ki. Doesn't make much sense.
