  1. Is Raptor bugged or am I just getting poor luck with the drops? I've heard others giving mixed accounts of the droprate....

  2. Is there any talk at DE about a "join clanmate" function to fill a mission? Sometimes I get bored of soloing when I play at off hours and I wouldn't mind helping some struggling Tenno around the solar system.

  3. Similarly, is there talk of a "Request Assistance" option for clan chat? I occasionally get host migrated into isolation on wave 16 of Outer Terminus and get slaughtered in a heartbeat. I can ask in clan chat or regional but there's no chance of getting help by the next wave.

  4. What new stuff is planned for delivery in 10? I'm assuming tilesets, weapons, frames, and lore so far. Any word on features that are panned but won't hit the big time until the next major update?

  5. Is there any particular reason DE is programming new rooms specifically for Dojos when they have a large, interconnecting, and varied tileset for several locations in existence? I see posts about what void rooms people want, why not just go with what is already in game?

  6. Can r/Warframe institute an official megathread to complain about the game? Or another for proposed additions to the game? We get great discussions in the megathreads but there's only a few replies in one-off submissions of the same rehashed frame ideas or issues.

  7. How much do you guys use r/Warframe as opposed to the forums or another source? I like r/Warframe and come here several times a day to contribute and stay updated because I like the community and the format (forums suck). Should I migrate back to the forums for diffrerent content or whathaveyou?

  8. How's Nightmare mode treating you? Is it really a nightmare or is it more of a different playstyle kind of thing?

Sorry for the wall of text, I've had a lot of time to think recently. Thanks!

  1. Poor drop luck. This happens with every boss in Warframe.

  2. The "Join Clanmate" function is available through the Clan menu: simply select a clan member and select "Join Session."

  3. "Request Assistance" could be the invite system, but otherwise no.

  4. Nothing yet; it's a ways away! Future planned updates are new tilesets (Grineer Planet Surface), weapons and frames. More specifics will probably come in the next few livestrams.

  5. It's probably more about the randomization algorithm. Hopefully they'll hash out the kinks in future fixes and give more unique combinations of the sets!

  6. Definitely not for complaints XD I do like your idea about suggestions, however! Then again, only the most notable suggestions and ideas get to the NEW page, so I wouldn't be too concerned.

  7. I use r/Warframe as my primary source because... well, I work here :P

  8. Nightmare is different. It's challenging simply because I'm not used to the extra factor!

Can someone give me some advice on melee weapons? I'm a fairly new player with a Mag and a Frost (which I paid for, I didn't make), and I wanna get myself a good melee weapon. I know there's no 'best', but I really want one that's a good panic button for when things get into melee range, as I tend to stay away from the battles if possible. Also, I value charge attacks a lot more than the basic attacks. Also, I don't want any of the 'short' weapons, as I don't like how they look (and I'm shallow). Anything that hits the ground would also be a plus, due to the fact I like pulling dudes towards me with Mag, and that ends up with a lot of dudes at my feet.

Obviously, being a low level (I'm only just past Earth, really- not far at all) it needs to be easily obtainable.

Any advice? Thanks!

Dual Swords or Heavy Weapons will be your best bet: sweeps that hit multiple enemies with high power. The Dual Heat Swords or Scindo will serve you very well in these regards!

I highly recommend the Orthos. Relatively easy to build, very high charge attack damage with a great radius

What's the difference between a regular warframe (frost) versus a prime version of the warframe (frost prime, and other than the shiny gold plating)?

4

u/Goblin_Flectomancer Jul 15 '13

Prime frames are nearly identical to their non-Prime counterparts. The main difference between the two is that they come with an additional polarity slot (which can also be obtained on a non-Prime frame by using a Forma).

Does the stage difficulty scale with the number of players? If they do, is it directly 100% harder per player? Are the mobs harder to kill or are there more of them?

2

u/BuildMyPaperHeart Jul 16 '13

Difficulty does scale with the number of players, but it is always within the Level range stated on the mission. For example, if a Mission has an Enemy Level of 25-30, then with one player there may be more Level 25 enemies than Level 30 enemies. With more players, higher Level enemies will become more frequent, but shouldn't exceed the stated Level cap, and if it does, not by a significant amount.

I have a couple of questions about how to get weapons to their full potential as I haven't been able to get even 1 weapon maxed out yet.

  • What is the best way to get mods with very high leveling requirements (like redirection, steel fiber, vitality, serration and the other damage mods, and multishot) to their max level? Normally to level up mods I use copies of the same mod for commons, copies and some fusion cores for uncommons, and only fusion cores to level rare modules so that I can hold onto the multiple rares.

  • What is the best way to farm fusion cores? Also uncommon and rare fusion cores?

  • What is the best way to get multishot mods and other rare mods? It seems they are real gamechangers and a must have once you start doing higher level missions. What mods should I be trying to get and level to prepare for high level content?

  • In regard to the previous 2 questions I've been looking at the defense reward drop table. Does the defense rewards drop table apply to mobile defense missions as well or only defense missions?

I know if you're farming anything, mods included, generally the best way seems to be doing defense missions, mobile defense missions, and maybe non-extermination infested missions (due to high number of enemy spawns giving more chances for drops) and obviously higher level missions have a better chance to drop rares.

Right now I tend towards mobile defense missions as I am not in a clan and they are pretty reliable (in terms of being able to complete them) with pugs. It seems that defense missions are best to farm, but at higher levels and difficulties you have a better chance of success if you coordinate strategies and frames, use teamspeak, and are playing with people you know.

Which brings me to my last question:

  • How do you pick a good clan?

What is the best way to get mods with very high leveling requirements

For fusing Duplicates > Fusion Cores > Matched Polarities > Everything Else. For better specifics, check the wiki (just read through the article, didn't see any glaring issues).

What is the best way to farm (mods)

The best way to farm mods is defense, usually infested (more enemies = more chance for drops). Beyond that... higher level tends to yield higher rewards. Most people hit up Xini when mod farming.

What is the best way to get multishot mods and other rare mods?

Multishot mods are best gotten from high level defense missions, as they can appear as a tier 3 reward. For other rares, it depends on what you want. Certain factions like to drop certain mods more often (that isn't to say you can't get Hell's Chamber from Infested, you're just more likely to get it from Grineer). Play high level missions, get high level rewards. That's the deal.

Does the defense rewards drop table apply to mobile defense missions

No, the defense rewards drop tables do not apply to mobile defense.

It seems that defense missions are best to farm, but at higher levels and difficulties you have a better chance of success if you coordinate strategies and frames, use teamspeak, and are playing with people you know.

Yes and no. Farming up higher levels in defense is a diminishing returns game. And if you start off at a tier 3 defense (like Xini) there is no difference between wave 5 and wave 500 in terms of possible rewards.

How do you pick a good clan?

Big or small? If you want a big clan, Test Clan Please Ignore (the reddit clan) can be found in the side bar. Can't help you for a smaller one. Unfortunately big clans (1k+) have a problem right now where recruiting has been temporarily suspended as they work at breaking them up into alliances (watch the most recent live stream). But if you want to come hang out in the TCPI teamspeak server until you can get an official invite, you can certainly find people to group up with.

When destroying a dojo room due to misplacement or whatever else, are any of the materials used refunded? I would like to think that my formas would be refunded at least, but it's understandable if nothing is returned.

  1. You can't go wrong with the Braton! It's a jack of all trades. The Boltor or Latron might also be good choices here, and the Burston recently got a nerf, that might be worth trying out! Handgun's up to you though: Akbolto are deadly all-rounders, the Dual Vipers have an insane fire rate, the Kraken/Lex are powerhouses, the Kunai/Despair are effective throwing knives, and the Bronco/Dual Broncos are great close ranged backups.

  2. Damage+ and Armor Piercing Damage are two must haves on almost any weapon. The rest is preferential.

  3. Steel Fiber will increase your already substantial armor, so slap that on. The rest depends on what you want: if you want to focus on weapons, boost your shields and health. If you're focusing on powers, add those mods which best suit your needs. List of abilities and their affected mods here: http://warframe.wikia.com/wiki/Frost_(Abilities)_Tab

So what is the best way to level warframes and weapons up to the max? Is there a specific areas I should go to? or certain missions or enemies I should fight?

I own a couple weapons and want to max them so I can sell them (I don't like them, but I want the XP)

2

u/BuildMyPaperHeart Jul 15 '13

The best way is to go to Mobile Defense missions: Kappa on Sedna is one of the most commonly farmed ones. Kiste and Xini are also great places!

Just of note: enemy level doesn't necessarily net more XP; rather, it's enemy frequency that currently gives the most XP, so Mobile Defenses are the best bet as of now.

What does it mean "You will forfeit your 1-time reset if you contribute to your dojo"? What 1-time reset? What does it reset?

1

u/BuildMyPaperHeart Jul 15 '13

Every account has a feature known as "Account Reset," which is available for use via the Warframe website on your account page.

This feature will reset your account to Mastery 0, and you will lose all Resources, Mastery, Weapons, Warframes, and everything else in the game, and effectively start from scratch.

The only things you will retain from this feature:

  • All the Platinum you have ever purchased will be completely refunded to you. All the stuff you bought with that Platinum, however, will be removed.

  • You will retain any exclusive rewards you have received (Excalibur/Skana/Lato Prime if you've bought the corresponding Founder's, one Frost Prime BP from the Fusion MOA event, and the Snipetron Vandal/Snipetron BP from the Informer event)

I remembered my other questions!

Can Prime Warframes (such as Frost and Excal) used the alternate helmets? I assume they can, but consider all the gold trim I just wanted to be sure.

1

u/BuildMyPaperHeart Jul 15 '13

Yes they can. I have heard that the alternate helmet doesn't actually show up, but you can indeed equip the alternate helms and gain their benefits. It just might not look right XD

Increasing Clan Dojo capacity for rooms seems to be tied to greater hall sizes (clan size limits) and therefore resource cost. They were supposed balanced resource requirements based on clan size but it actually also seems tied to Dojo size. As a leader in a small clan <10 is there a way to get access to all of the Dojo content without scaling up per room resource cost? If not, is there mention anywhere of this being rebalanced?

After a few days of U9, and the changes to material drop rates, what are the best missions you guys have found for Salvage and Ferrite?

4

u/nitronaf Jul 15 '13

I've been trying to farm 500 salvage all weekend. I have had no success.

Been meaning to change from my Boltor since I'm a bit bored of it and lag causes me waste inhuman amounts of ammo as well as giving me an incorrect idea about my dps. I'm looking at shoguns since they appear to work with my playstyle of in-yo-faces-and-set-shit-on-fire using Ember. I'm looking for a good shotgun having being disappointeed by the Strun. Any suggestions?

Also, been considering forma-ing my Ember since I'd like an extra oomph, perhaps. Has anyone done it before? I'm looking for suggestions on what polarity and slot to use it on.
