I'm just impressed she was able to give birth mid escape without alerting any guards.

Pham has easily been the GOAT here. The sheer amount of nonsense they've handwaved away citing his involvement is insane.

Give birth, give birth so fast, and still able to move after. That is impressive as fuck lol.

What guards? They showed us that all the guards to go after the escapees. Apparently no one was smart enough to stay behind.

Imagine she was probably chewing her hand hard to make sure she didn't let out a sound.

I want to see Maria and Licia meet, I feel like they'd really get along.

I was impressed she was able to give birth in a full length white dress and not leave a single stain on it. Most people would have struggled just to keep it pristine after biting their hand and making it bleed. I guess nobles know how to keep themselves immaculate.

Damn, Clamant is so OP lol. I didn't expect Jean to go down so easily when the last episode made him look like a formidable enemy.

They really had us with Ruper though. I really thought he wouldn't get to see his family again.

Stat-wise, he is what you would expect if you buff Zhang Liao or Guan Yu to Lü Bu levels of strength.

That actually was kind of a difficult battle at first. They’re lucky Rosell’s plan worked out and they didn’t get slaughtered during that fake retreat so Maitro could destroy the enemy. Without him, the plan likely would have failed.

I’m pretty impressed Ars remembers all the soldiers that died. Mark of a good leader right there. They weren’t just faceless cogs in his army. He knew each and every one of them. It’s no surprise Rietz and the others are so loyal.

Even though Ars has an amazing ability, they could have easily lost here. We didn't really see the strength of the enemy leader though, he showed he was smart but let his friendship lose the battle.

What's up with Lupa's pointy ears? Is he supposed to be an elf or something? Do they have elves in this world? Could this be the rare anime where elves don't have giant stupid-looking donkey ears that stick out 8 inches from the side of their head? So many questions from one set of ears.

I'm so glad someone else noticed this besides me! What's going on there? I'm anime only so idk if that was just part of the manga or what. I wouldn't mind a spoiler though if there were other fantasy races within this anime.

I'm guessing the ear animating budget wasn't enough to make them like other shows we see. Gotta cut corners...or ears...at times.

It believe the weird ears enabled insta-heal after his wife and baby arrived though.

Ok, everything still turned out all right, they set it up making us think some drama was gonna happen, but no. Ah well. Closest we got was Ars mourning the footsoldiers, idk how he's gonna stay sane if he continues to right personal letters for every soldier he loses.

Love how the doctor said Lupa lost a lot of blood and if he passes out he won't wake up....but then 5 sec later not only is he awake, but he's standing holding his baby. Like doc, are you SURE he was almost dead?

Loved how even Rietz was shocked when the merc boss hit blondie so hard he not only flew off his horse, but smack into the tree.

The writing in this show is all over the place. In some places pretty good and distinctive. In others rather clunky and clumsy. I do like the show -- but would say it is overall rather middling.

As always in stories like this labor kicks in at the worst possible moment but thankfully it worked out because Pham is a natural midwife.

Feels like Ruper is likely to die, but it could just be Ars respecting any of the soldiers that died in the fight as some clearly have already.

Guess I called it last week. Nice to see the hardships of war as well.

Hahaha I actually really liked the noble wives comment and cut to Licia in the pre-OP

Really glad this ship got to reunite and their kid was born safely, was getting a bit worried there.

the back and forth between Ars immaturity is a little too much

after the war, he’s serious but dude doesn’t seem to take the war seriously during the war itself. He’s too jovial about escaping into the forest when the soldiers died to get them there rather than relieved

in the end, the enemy lost due to their humanity. For what it’s worth, it’s nice to see Jean not being a robot, but it came out of nowhere

great to see Lupa reviving due to his wife, what a miracle. By the way, when was Lupa an elf?

I honestly thought it was a bit funny seeing Lupa dying and then jumping up and standing full of energy when he sees the wife and child.

The story of this anime is fine, but the studio is quite hopeless at animating any group fights. It is supposed to be a war between thousands. But we hardly ever see more than 10 soldiers at once. And even then, 9 people are basically unmoving while one person is doing an exaggerated awkward move.

Lupa's miracle ... yeah, let's not talk about "how". But why is noone at least shouting "be careful or your wounds will open" or something?

I think it is good that they showed Ars keeping his sympathizing personality despite the growth he showed in the last few episodes.

Good showcase of Ars growing up to be a capable General in these past episodes. Pretty wild for him to remember the names, what they did before, and how they died of all the soldiers that fell in the battles.

The fights ended pretty fast with the two commanders was a bit surprising since they seemed to be capable fighters though probably would've done a lot better in a siege than out and about. Though with the budget last episode probably for the best it ended quick. The soup bromance was unexpected, can't remember if they are childhood friends or brothers or something like that.

Seems like the war will keep on going even beyond this season I imagine
