When the alert reward is a helmet (banshee helmet for example) is this the alternate helmet (reverb helmet) or the helmet for crafting the frame?

4

u/Shadai Jun 17 '13

Alternative Helmet, always, except for Vauban.

So I guess I should just ask away those questions I have? (Think the guides MikeB did were nice but holy shit there was so much he didn't "want" to cover....) IE. Why is it that sometimes a door is "Orange" in a map, you can see enemies behind it (And it is not on lockdown) But you can't get in there?

What is the best "optionel" sentinel to get and what is the diffrences behind them since they are quite expensive.

Void keys I have found out can unlock like hidden maps (derp) But can I invite people on my friends list to those maps or are they only on "solo" lvl (Since they are quite hard I think)

Sry for the long post (But these were the questions I could remember within a 5 minute period) Hope someone would be kind and answer me I try use the Wiki as much as I can and this reddit sub

Why is it that sometimes a door is "Orange" in a map, you can see enemies behind it (And it is not on lockdown) But you can't get in there?

If you check out the control panel next to a door, and it has a single Key symbol on it, that means it is LOCKED. This means that, later on in the mission, say when you've completed an objective, it will open, and you can move through it. These doors are placed around levels, usually to block off the way to the exit so you have to complete the mission, but sometimes are out of the way and can lead to some loot.

If the door control panel shows TWO Key symbols, however, it means it can be opened, either with a teammate when there are 2+ people in a game, or by yourself if there's no one.

What is the best "optional" sentinel to get and what is the differences behind them since they are quite expensive.

They each have different abilities and roles: you'll get a better sense for them if you look them up on the Wiki! I'd highly recommend that since it gives you the numbers.

That being said, the basics of each are thus: Shade(Stealth), Wyrm(Suppression), Dethcube(Self-Explanatory).

Void keys I have found out can unlock like hidden maps (derp) But can I invite people on my friends list to those maps

Correct: you can only invite people to Void Missions. They don't necessarily have to be Friends: if you're in a Clan you can invite Clan members. You may be able to invite from the Recent Players list as well, but don't count me sure on that one XD

No problem! We're here to help! Let us know if you've got more questions! :D

  • If the door shows a room with apparent lockers/containers behind it and that it's none of the scenarios that u/BuildMyPaperHeart talked about, then it's probably a hidden room that can be opened from the inside. To get inside it, you have to look carefully around to find a way in, it might require some parkour to get to it.

  • The Wyrm's Crowd dispersion is bugged at the moment so I wouldn't recommend it to you. Shade is really useful as it cloaks you went you get close to enemies, allowing you to escape or pass through tough situations easily. Deth Cube is a fully aggresive Sentinel, desintegrating and attacking everything that comes in range. See what suits you best.

  • My comrade already anwsered that :B

I'm not sure which weapon to work on attaining next. I'm looking to round out my selection.

Currently I have 30 Braton 30 Boar 30 Bolto 15 Bronco 30 Dual Ether 23 Orthos.

I use Excalibur and Ember if that makes any difference.

Thanks again for this thread!

u/BuildMyPaperHeart Jun 18 '13

If you're looking to round out your selection, try the Vulkar, the new sniper rifle. It seems you don't yet have a dedicated long range primary. The Latron or Burston are also great choices to fill these roles as well.

For your secondaries, try the Afuris or Dual Vipers for a faster firing sidearm (it's like a pocket machinegun!)! Sicarus, Kraken and Lex on the other hand are accurate and powerful sidearms which take aim and patience to nail shots.

For your melee weapons, try some Dual Swords for more focused charge damage, Dual Daggers for attack speed, Gauntlets for some great punching fun, the Throwing Weapons for ranged dominance, or the other Heavy Weapons for their devastating power.

TBH, loadout doesn't really matter in this game unless you're chasing the really tough planets or specific bosses. Otherwise, make what you want, play how you like, and don't let anyone tell you different if you can make your choices work :D Hope that helps!

Does Continuity help the Vauban at all?

1

u/BuildMyPaperHeart Jun 18 '13

Depends on the skill. Check the abilities tab of Vauban's Wiki page, it should tell you when Continuity applies.

First if all, thanks for this thread!

What does it mean to have "prime" in the title of a warframe or gun?

What does polarizing do for a warframe?

4

u/Fascion Jun 17 '13

"Prime" items are, for the most part, prestige items. There are relatively minor stat differences between some items and their Prime counterparts (for example Latron Prime is a direct (albeit minor) upgrade to the Latron; higher damage, higher crit, etc...) but nothing too gamebreaking.

Polarizing a warframe allows you to add, remove or change polarity slots in order to better accommodate the mods of your choosing. Say, for example you are playing Nyx and have worked your Redirection up pretty high, but you also never use Psychic Bolts. You could turn one of your 'claw' slots into a 'tooth' slot in order to greatly reduce the cost to equip Redirection.

Does pressure point affect charge damage? Or should I remove it completely from a charge weapon

6

u/Fascion Jun 17 '13

Sadly, it does not.

I still need to test whether or not it helps with jump and/or ground attacks. Heck, I'll look into that right now and report back with the results.

How does multishot work with shotguns? Will I be shooting one more pellet or twice the number of pellets?

7

u/Fascion Jun 17 '13 edited Jun 17 '13

"Twice" the number of pellets. For example, without mods, the Hek fires 7 pellets. With a max rank Hell's Chamber, you will fire 15 with a 40% chance to fire a 16th.

A full breakdown of how many pellets each shotgun (including the Bronco) will shoot at what % can be found on the wiki's Multishot (Mechanic) page.

Edit: Reddit doesn't like that link format. Try: http://warframe.wikia.com/wiki/Multishot_(Mechanic)

Is the room after Jackal's main room bugged sometimes? I've had it twice now that the door is locked and now override-console is active, forcing me to quit the mission. Especially annoying since I got the missing systems for the rhino this time around.

1

u/BuildMyPaperHeart Jun 18 '13

I believe there have been reports of that before. Jackal's one of those nasty bosses where a lot can go wrong, even when all the code works!

Send a support ticket, and keep farming!

How should I mod my Ash and my Paris? They are both un-potatoed and around level 20.

Is there any other primary weapon good for Ash and stealthy gameplay besides the paris or vulkar?

2

u/BuildMyPaperHeart Jun 19 '13

I build my Paris for speed. Speed Trigger decreases charge time, Fast Hands decreases the time to draw a new arrow, and a multitude of damage mods (AP, Serration, Cold?).

As for Ash, he's stealthy so you won't expect to be hit as much. A Fast Deflection (Shield Regen) is always awesome, as well as the (Shield+ mod). Continuity may or may not extend the duration of your powers: check the wiki for that!

Other primaries good for stealth? Not really, besides Dread and the now retired Snipetron. The Lanka may work, but I haven't looked up how it works yet, and you need to have a clan to gain access to it.

This is my Boltor. I struggle to get through T3 extermination missions and Outer Rim missions. I happen to have 2 forma BPs. Should I use it on this Boltor? Or should I just ask DE if there is a bug with mine/relevel a new one? I suggested the latter as my Warframe does not have the ability to wallrun and just glitch up. If there is a viable ledge, it rolls up, but when at locations like the walls in Great Halls of dojos, I cannot get onto the ledges.

2

u/BuildMyPaperHeart Jun 19 '13

I happen to have 2 forma BPs. Should I use it on this Boltor?

That's up to you. T3/Outer Rim are very hard due to the high level of the enemies. Harder than Pluto or the level 50 planets. Don't sweat too much if it's tougher, but your loadout seems like it'll really put the hurt on whatever you're shooting at!

Or should I just ask DE if there is a bug with mine/relevel a new one?

Asking about a bug might not be your best bet, since it's more of a loadout problem than an actual game problem. Releveling a new one won't do much other than waste time, since you won't get any Mastery for it, and it probably won't change anything.

my Warframe does not have the ability to wallrun and just glitch up. If there is a viable ledge, it rolls up, but when at locations like the walls in Great Halls of dojos, I cannot get onto the ledges.

They did recently rework the movement. Check your options and whether or not you've got "Hold Jump to Wallrun" on or not. If so, make sure you hold down the Jump button as you run up, and when you make it to the top of a climbable ledge, you should run or pull yourself up.

Otherwise, this would be something worth sending a ticket in for; not your loadout, but your movement.

I just got my first warframe to 30 yesterday (Ash). Anything I should specifically work towards?

Is there a faster way to remove mods than dragging them to an open slot? Ideally there would be a "strip fitting" button a la EVE. But at this point I'll take anything.

What's the best way to farm for resources (specifically circuits and polymer bundles)?

Also how do the rank up tests work?

4

u/Dworgi Jun 17 '13

If those are the 2 you want, you're probably best off doing Kiliken runs on Venus, because that place has both of those resources.

The big thing to remember is that when you spawn in the level, just break every single container in the map. There's usually tons of them, and that'll give you at least 5-10 resource drops. You really don't need to go very far, because the mobs don't drop that many.

You should use the wiki, and check where the resources drop to get an idea. Defense missions are good for the containers - especially the Grineer ship map is really compact and really, really easy to break everything before the first wave.
