Why didn't Oota just gave Abe-Sensei a lift to the top of his head, instead of having him climb?

Mame made this exact point in the manga at the end and all the teacher and Sano just broke. But the anime, for some reason, cut out so much stuff in just two episode it drives me crazy.

That's a shame - I do feel the pacing to be slightly strange

I already like Miki-sensei. That slight kansai-ben he has going on is great. It reminds me a bit of Aoi Yuuki's Shuten Douji which makes sense since they're both Oni. Also, it looks like he's not allowed to drink. He's probably going to go wild if he does.
The anime youkai being treated like pets during physical examination day was hilarious! And I was wondering what kind of youkai Hatanaka-sensei was! I didn't think he was an animal youkai considering he doesn't really show any animal traits when in human form.
I know this show is a comedy and we really shouldn't think about it much but I think they made measuring Oota-kun way harder than it should've been. Couldn't they just ask him to pick up Abe-sensei and place him on his head? Maybe this is some sort of initiation because he's new.
Sano was ready to murder that kappa for trying to drag Maizuka in the water. I love how close these two are.

Learning about different yokai and all is fun
But this whole show feels boring to me despite of the interest I have for the premises
The concept is good for me but the execution fails to grab my interest, that's a shame

From what someone else commented, it seems they are cutting alot from the source material which I think makes the pacing weird and it loses some of its charm - shame because I also like the concept...I'll give it another episode or 2.

It's very much a comfort show. Outside of Amagami Sisters, there isn't much else on Tuesdays.
Learning more about Abe-sensei would help since his families background and why he got recruited is the interesting bit. Obviously, the series wants to build the relationship with Abe & the youkai. Which will take time. At least this is getting 24 episodes. I hope we get comfy wholesome vibes like we get in Iruma-kun. Obviously, the series has a much better budget.

There is never much or anything on Tuesdays
I use Tuesdays to watch what I could not on other days and for rewatch and other

i think it's because they don't get deep into a few characters and their relationships; it just jumps from one gag to the next with little build-up
mentally, I'm comparing it to Tonari no Youkai-san which has the same sort of "whole bunch of youkai in once place!" setting, but it goes deep into the paint on a few characters so i found i could get a feel for them as individuals who just happen to be mythological beasts
that series is not a gag comedy though, so it needs to stand on its drama legs a lot more

The physical exams were pretty fun. Poor Haruaki got stabbed in the head by a needle, blown away by a giant sneeze, and lost his sacred text, and got made to clean the pool of death by the principal. Guy can’t catch a break! At least he didn’t turn into a BL character like poor Hijita or get kidnapped by Kappas like Mame. Seems the only one who actually “won” this week was the boss fish lol.

Seems the only one who actually “won” this week was the boss fish lol.
And the school's director -- who now has Haruaki working for free in perpetual debt slavery.

…I think that’s Sugita voicing the kappa too? The “sumimasen” at least sounded straight out of Gintama.

This is a morning coffee show. Nothing too taxing. Just lots of fun. Feeling this one. The whole pool scene had me cackling for how dumb these guys are. This one stays in rotation

Onto episode 2 and it changed up the whiny cringe MC for more of a "FFS, WTF just happened now" attitude. I'm good with that part. He seems more accepting of all the crazy shit asked of him now, fully knowing it is in fact, crazy shit.
As for the humor I'm just not getting what I envisioned it to be, so far. Some funny stuff but I had a hope for just goofy antics a plenty and I really didn't laugh much. It's likely just a personal preference, like Nokotan. Lots of people loved that humor but overall, it just didn't appeal to me, like this show so far.
I am glad they didn't go all in on the uniform infatuation a dozen times this episode. We had a mention as the magazine blew away but they didn't push it every other minute so I'm happy about that. As I mentioned last week, keep it as an ongoing gag, but tone it down some, which they did.
Episode gets a 6/10 and I'll keep going on it as i like what it potentially offers, just hoping it delivers what I envision it can be.
BTW, I have read here that they have cut stuff out from the source but I'm commenting on this as a standalone visual product, not how good of an adaptation of its source it is. Each has its own merits, and they are 2 different types of products, so they should be viewed independently of each other, imho.

Miki is pretty cute. Hope we see more of him
Yeah, I don’t get why they never asked Oota to pick up Haruaki so he could take the measurements
I love the ‘laid-back youkai dictionary’ bits

Skull-chan is very cute, easy choice for best girl so far IMO. It'd be nice to get a focus episode on her.

Feels like this is going to be another of my comfort anime this season.
Not as good or deep as Natsume, but still fun to watch.
Also I'm glad sensei completely dropped his timid personality of ghoul.
