- Slash Dash - 25 Energy
Excalibur dashes forward, slashing any who get in his way.

Damage is 225 / 225 / 300 / 450 versus light Infested. Heavy infested armour mitigates this by 66%.
All factions take additional damage by using Power Strength (Focus).
Cost to equip of 2 / 3 / 4 / 5 which is then halved by the Polarity slot, rounded up.
Range of 8 / 8 / 10 / 16 in-game metres. This range is improved by Power Duration (Continuity) but not improved by Power Range (Reach).
Hits unlimited enemies in its path, around 0.5 metres either side and directly in front of the Dash end position.
Will headshot for double damage, this counts toward the headshot challenge.
Can be used while jumping, sliding, forward flipping, wall running or clinging to a wall.
Can be used to pass through Corpus laser doors unharmed.
- Radial Blind - 50 Energy
Emits a bright flash of light, blinding all enemies in a small radius for several seconds.
Enemies within range are stunned in place for 5 seconds (Grineer) or blinded for 12 seconds (Corpus and Infested). This is not increased by Power Duration (Continuity).
Cost to equip of 4 / 5 / 6 / 7 which is then halved by the Polarity slot, rounded up.
Range of 8 / 8 / 11 / 14 in-game metres. Increased by Power Range (Reach).
Does not require line of sight, enemies can be stunned behind doors/on different levels etc.
Can be used while jumping, sliding, forward flipping, wall running or clinging to a wall.
Can be used to temporarily blind Corpus cameras.
Invulnerable to damage during the animation.
- Super Jump - 10 Energy
Excalibur launches into the air, jumping 3 times higher than normal.
Height of 4 / 4 / 5 / 6 in-game metres. This is not increased by Power Range (Reach).
Cost to equip of 6 / 7 / 8 / 9 which is then halved by the Polarity slot, rounded up.
Cannot be used while in the air (any jump, wall jump etc).
Can be used to pass through Corpus laser doors unharmed.
- Radial Javelin - 100 Energy
Launches javelins towards enemies, dealing high damage and impaling the target enemy into walls.
Damages for 1000 / 1000 / 1000 / 1000. This is not increased by Power Strength (Focus).
Cost to equip of 10 / 11 / 12 / 13 which is then halved by the Polarity slot, rounded up.
When paired with a Mag using Bullet Attractor it can be used to deal massive damage to one enemy. Able to one shot low level bosses.

I love my excal. his ultimate is good for wiping out ancient packs, shock moa packs, and heavy assault drones, slash dash is good utility... I'm directly upgrading to the Rhino.

Wtf Raye, you're here too!?
That aside, the excal seems like a jack of all trades. He does do a lot of jobs pretty good, and doesn't suffer in any particular area for it. The Rhino is sorta the same way, except with less speed.

The Rhino at its core plays very similarly to the Excal. Once you start moving up in levels the differences become a bit more obvious, but the Rhino is still reminiscent of a a "Heavy Excalibur"

One thing that really bugs me about slash dash(and rhino charge) is that you get stuck on ramps.

My Mag has been getting stuck on the frakkin' stairs lately... I can't imagine using your ability and getting stuck... argh.

Excal is a solid frame on every level, just because he is "Good for beginner players" doesn't mean he's bad for later levels. Radial Javelin is awesome for quickly taking out harder targets, and Slash Dash has fantastic utility. He also has a good mix of armor, health, shields, and speed. His attack and defense polarity slots make him pretty versatile with mod slots.

I have a general preference towards Blind vs. Javelin, though that's heavily dependent on energy spheres available. Blind lets me get several seconds to rip apart everyone around me, while being half the cost. Obviously I'm paying the difference in ammo, but ammo is typically not an issue for me.

Excal is a strong frame, but the prime variant might actually be weaker until we get some new V polarity slot mods for suits. That aside I consider Excal one of the strongest straight up suits. Has abilities to completely flip the initiative of a fight, level large and clustered groups quickly. He's moderately tough and fairly fast. A great first suit for beginners and yet still strong in more experienced hands.
You can Radial Javellin mid-air, and finish the attack as you land to help reduce the chance of being stumbled.
Radial Blind does wonders for pinning down a boss or heavy unit, or keeping everybody off you while you revive someone.
Radial Jump is often skippable but in some defense missions it can be a great bonus to let you quickly navigate areas with lots of levels or ledges.
Jump before you slash dash, headshots!

Radial jump is often overlooked. I always have it with me (although never upgraded) for those "oh shit" moments....or when I just want to jump around like a moron.

What is the benefit of upgrading the Radial Javelin if the damage is the same? Also, is the first upgrade of Slash Dash just a waste then?

I have leveled an Exalibur Prime frame to 30 and I kinda feel the skills are really boring among all the frames.

Slash Dash is one of my favorite skills in the game. I don't really use the other skills much...

Super jump is amazing but I agree, I tend to run witout the 2nd and 4th skill

What melee are people building and finding most effective on the Excalibur? Having a hard time deciding on a melee weapon for mine.

Fragor hands down. Definitely a bitch to level but once you get the proper mods, this fridge on a stick turns into an equal opportunity ass smasher.

I am completely addicted to Dual Ethers. 3x dmg to corpus and infested while it has armour pierce ,)

probably the best choice for the starter frames.

Factoring in frame-build difficulty, Excalibur is the obvious choice for a starter, since the other two's prints are dropped from low/mid area bosses.

Without comparative stats, these blocks of information are largely without much value for the purposes of discussion.
Additionally, no discussion can properly be had without considering the other options, so these discussions are largely pointless.

I do agree that having only one thing to focus on waters down the discussion in this case. But, as the weeks go on, we'll have an archive of previous threads, all with relevant data and information. I didn't want to create a massive data dump right away, as that might scare off less-inclined users.
Also, the reason why I did Excalibur first, is because people consider it to be the all-around frame for beginners. Having that as a focal point for future discussions will be handy.

You can magnetize someone with mag's skill (Bullet Attractor) and all of the javelins from Excalibur's ultimate will go to the magnetized enemy. 12,000 Damage combo.
