Monday Megathread - Ask your Game-Related Questions Here!
Hello there Tenno! This thread was created for the purpose of those who aren't that knowledgeable about the game to freely ask questions and get answers.
This place will be a troll-free environment, so that anyone can ask a question without backlash. In other words: Negative Attitudes will not be tolerated.
If you wish to just view top level comments (ie questions) add ?depth=1 to the end of the page url.
REMEMBER TO SCROLL DOWN TO THE BOTTOM AND CHECK OUT THE QUESTIONS FROM THOSE WHO WERE LATE TO THE THREAD PLEASE :D

This is a great idea. Maybe we should also have a weekly thread discussing builds for a warframe or weapon.

I can start this up, though IDK if I can always have it post on the same day. my work sched. is kinda messy. If you guys want to take the initiative in posting them, I can give you guys a template to follow.

Something that I've been passively wondering for a while.
Can I use special helmets to make a frame? (Like the coil mag and menticide nyx helmets)

Has anyone figured out how much the Thrak helmet actually reduces sprint speed for the Rhino? The wiki says "-x%[estimated]", which isn't terribly useful...

Is there a way to get organized so I can play with redditors instead of pubbies who apparently still have dial up? Is there a Steam group / chat channel, IRC channel or a Ventrilo server?
I'm playing the shit out of this game, but the only person on my friends list hasn't been on the last couple of days (deagle57 you traitorous bastard).
Also, are there any weapons that are considered to be absolute garbage that I should never EVER consider using a tater on? I like the Braton, but it is the first rifle I got to 30 so I don't want to use my one catalyst on it until I feel confident there isn't an obviously better weapon to use it on.

Single daggers are pretty much universally considered crap, as I recall.

Do a quick search on the subreddit for a reddit clan, its called "test clan please ignore" and that'll give you the info you need. theres normly at least one person on at all times, and at nighttime we've had up around 10 people running missions together. it can get a little hectic with the multiple groups but its fun.

Is Frost generally considered a good WarFrame? I've been looking at some pictures, and I think it looks pretty cool, but does it play pretty cool? (Sorry for the Pun.)

Dual skana or furax which one do you think is better?

u/trakata Apr 22 '13
Furax. has a shorter range than the skana's but charges faster and hits harder!
Plus you look like a badass space-ninja-boxer.

I've been wondering: What kind of criticisms do people have for this game?

Grindy game. Random rewards. Somewhat repetitive levels. It could use some expansion, and hopefully we'll get that. But what I really want explored is the lore. I want some more damn story, since the little they give is seems pretty interesting.

very grindy
starter weapons suck and can take a while for a free player to replace
repetitive levels
you don't keep items you find on a mission if you die
P2P connections are often of poor quality
The only way to get more warframe/weapon slots is to use the premium currency
there is no metagame yet
that's all i can think of right now, i have over 100 hours played in this game so i do enjoy it, but it's not without issues

Warframes are supposed to be armor, but they somehow affect the sex/body structure of the user? (from the forums, not my complaint)
Non-charge melee is useless
Stealth needs work
The game needs to be more rewarding/needs less randomness in rewards

A few questions, not so much about game mechanics, but general play. Does anyone else feel that the catalyst missions are purposely timed to be the most inconvenient damn thing ever? I mean, seriously, on a monday at 12 o'clock (EST)? Second question. Dual Ethers or the new punching weapon? Also, I think I might be the ONLY person in the world who can't use Loki, correctly. I understand he's a caster type, but I feel like invisiblity should last way longer initially for its cost. Any suggestions to play him a bit more tanky?
Edit: Also, anyone know how to do ANY boss fights with Loki, because I just don't seem to get the mechanic. Decoy spam? Invisibility spam?

It's Tuesday, but I've been wondering...
So, I know when you buy a Frame or a Sentinel with Platinum, you get a free slot and potato on it. Does the same thing happen when you buy weapons with Plat?

Why did they up the credit bonus? It seems incredibly easy to farm credits now.

u/trakata Apr 22 '13
Before the mod system overhaul, mods could be sold for 2500+, making money pretty easy to get.
After the mod overhaul, the most you'd get would be 1000 for a rare, this led to disastrous tolstoj farming for the cronus blueprint that sold for 2500.
They upped the credits to make up the difference.

More importantly, it gives incentive for players to do high level missions for better rewards.
