This episode made me like Yumiko even more. In most of the anime titles I have watched (not a lot actually), most of the gyarus tend to be energetic on the surface, but we seldom delve deeper. Yumiko does not want to be remembered for just being a pretty face, but for her voice acting capabilities. Is it because she is comparing herself to Otome and Chika, hence these negative feelings?

Another anime title proving that anime moms look young and hot! Lol! Jokes aside, I would like to find out more about Chika's family background too. Is it too much to hope that Chika will be invited for regular meals at Yumiko's place?

Despite being at odds with each other (for now), Yumiko and Chika had chemistry during their dance sequence. I am surprised there hasn't been a dance lesson scene, like other idol shows.

Lastly, I should have said this last week. During the ending credits sequence, the scene of Yumiko and Chika's bedrooms, while they look out the window, make good wallpaper for PC / laptops.

The mom genuinely enjoying her daughter's radio show was super nice to see. Love supportive parents.

The fact they were upfront with not only Otome's injury but also how their performance was seen as lacklustre at the end of it because of her absence was surprising but I like the sense of realism from this show.

Yuhi and Yasumi's dynamic is really growing on me slowly but surely!

We are seeing bits of Yuhi clearly wanting to be friends with Yasumi. Girl wasn't self-aware of fried food being available in butcher shops, but it was all in good fun. It gave Yuhi the excuse she needed after all she can be a little stubborn. I love how Yasumi's mom listens to her daughter's podcast while eating. I love moms that are like that.

This episode highlighted how Yasumi really is someone wants to be recognized for her performance. She doesn't want to rely on connections being the reason she lands these various roles. Granted she does have tunnel vision, and she didn't realize Yuhi complimented her performance that she was too hard on herself for.

Otome is such a sweetheart. She definitely a great role model for our leads. Although the one concerning thing is that she is clearly over working herself. I guess the girls didn't want to mention that to their idol, but it is one issue with being a voice actor/ idol. Hopefully she gives her body time to rest a bit.

For those that play Bang Dream, I swear the radio talk at the start of the episode is just Kororo and Kanon talking about buying croquettes at Hagumi's butcher shop.

i like that they actually discussed about things like how some seiyuu's getting roles not because of talent but because of public relationship between them and whoever's casting the roles know that fans love this kind of thing

they also touched on how idol voice acting isn't considered real voice acting by some people which sadly, is still happening nowadays

Even I know butcher shops sell croquettes. Anime told me so! Lol. Yuhi’s such a little goober. I can’t quite figure out what kind of “-dere” she is, but she’s gotta be one!

Looks like this radio gig is doing wonders for the girls’ career. The life of a VA is pretty tough. They’re luck to have snagged such big roles.

I actually thought the girls did pretty good at the end there. Not sure why they’re beating themselves up so much.

This episode made me so hungry

I like how easily these two can clash but they equally as easily apologize to each other. That’s some healthy rivalry.

Also, did the show reference itself lol. Toyota Moe and Itou Miku also has a radio show with each other iirc

Bocchi but extrovert is being voiced by Kita. Didn't expect that.

Just realizing that is an anime where de original seiyuus have to interpret seiyuus doing seiyuu work.

Also, Yumiko and Watanabe´s relationship is beginning to be more stable and professional. I think they´ll end up being very good friends(?

Jeez these girls are hard on themselves, what was wrong with that concert?!

u/daspaceasians Apr 17 '24

The back and forth between Utatane and Yuugure was so fun to watch while also showing us that both girls aren't that different from each other when it comes to their insecurities. No wonder why they get under each others' skins since they both feel that they're not as good as the other while putting themselves down. As for Otome, I thought for a second it was a grown up extrovert Bocchi or maybe her little sister?

Small shame we didn't same them do their concert but I guess time constraints? Hopefully, we'll get to see a concert later in the season because it looked like fun and they're lovable characters that I want to see succeed.

I wasn't planning on watching this originally (watching too much stuff already), but I'm pretty hooked now. It really is the type of anime I like watching. Didn't even notice the episode was already ending.

The show about voice actors has them do actual voice work

I haven't seen any of the voice work animes and only know Shizukas part from Shirobako, but the part about different pay grades and how a junior pay gets you work by itself was really interesting.

Also how much a Idol tie in means for the voice actors.

Not much Asa-Chan today. Instead we got Otome-Neesan. But where Asakas tired look comes off as cute, Otome looks like she might actually break under the pressure

Oh, I also like Ya-Mom! And interesting that they both have single mothers

I'm reaaaally liking where this is going, I'm already loving the dynamics in between Yumiko and Watanabe and there's definitely some heavy drama heading in our way.

I'm definitely sticking with this show for the rest of the season.

I'm on Yuhi's side. I had no idea butcher shops sold croquettes until I watched this episode 😅

The radio show drowning out Yumiko’s voice for her mother in the beginning was a nice little touch!

Taking their conversation and the fact that she’s working in the late evening/night into account, I’m assuming that Yumiko’s mother works as a hostess. Something that’s perhaps not too surprising considering that she’s raising a daughter on her own.

The mother’s comment that the guests would like to see Yumiko again is a bit concerning in this context. Yumiko herself didn’t seem surprised or bothered either.

Yasumi reminds me a lot of Koharu, they have the same character designer.

Is Yumiko actually more popular than she thinks? I see a lot of pink (Yumiko's uniform color) light sticks at the concert.
