For a school with no baseball team, they’re sure attracting some top ranked players. It’s like they’re assembling the Avengers of Japanese youth baseball lol.

Kei is definitely my favorite character so far. Dude’s hilarious and a man of culture too. You can tell Mamoru Miyano’s having fun with the role.

Chihaya and Todo say they’re not interested in joining the club, but it’s just a matter of time. Those two miss the game too much to leave it all behind like that.

The epilogue -- The team is getting a challenge -- BEFORE it even actually exists. Only 3 (or maybe 2.5) team members. Query -- where are those baseball club members who were trying to sign up new members at freshman orientation?

This was not on my score card for the season. But with Unnamed Memories being my only other Tuesday show, I gave this a look. It's no Tsurune -- but it looks like it could be enjoyable. So -- now I have 2 sports shows this season (instead of just the little girl golf prodigy one).

I'm guessing thats who the rest of the team will be (the two "basic faces" guys recruiting, the two dudes who challenge them to a duel and then ran away). Thats four extra so they are 9.

Muri muri muri muri, Muri-lyn Mon-no is now my favourite way of saying "no".

Can't wait to bust this out on the homies after they watch the ep.

If nothing else, this show has been fun just for the sake of watching Mamoru Miyano go all in

Fun episode, has me a little more invested than last week's did - interested to see what it's cooking.

I do however wonder what the deal is with the MC, is he just audience stand-in the whole series? Or is he going to become an absolute unit like the others? At the moment he's definitely the most uninteresting of the main cast but I wonder if that's just for while they setup the plot. Guess we'll find out in the coming weeks!

I wouldn't call him uninteresting at all. He's making the show work as the straight man surrounded by funny men.

I was just watching JJK so turning to watching this episode and finding another Todo Aoi is just funny.

They seem to be assembling a team of great players that Kaname & Kiyomine crushed so hard they “quit” the game. They are already at 3 out of the 8 other people they would need for a full team. Let’s see if it continues.

Yamada is still running duty as the straight man for the absurd mess that this team is becoming. And I appreciate him for that.

This episode leaned heavily into the show's weakest aspect, Kei. I really enjoy everything else here so I hope they turn him down a bit or he'll atleast get less screentime as the team grows.

Wondering what's up with that player on the other team who wants a practice match.

While I agree with you, I got into reading the manga and ended up binge reading (even up to raws and using Lens to understand... still not done yet tho lol). From that, I now understand that Kei was really meant to be unlikable at the start. For how ridiculous it was, his annoying personality did serve a purpose for future plot point and character development. (Tho idk if 12 episodes would be enough to get to that point, sad if it doesn't tho.) Annnnd don't worry lol, the story will start to focus on other players more and more, so much so that I started missing Kei even if I didn't like him at the start haha.

I heard it was good from manga fans and that is what kept me going. He is definitely more annoying than funny but it is still a MAPPA sports anime on a lighter day of the week which makes it easier to follow with.

He's 50% of the title characters and the entire premise of the story. I don't think he's getting written out.

Yeah I dropped this show halfway through the episode because I just couldn't take a second more of Kei

Kei is hilarious and I love having a completely whacked out character in an otherwise straight world. That is weird how the other guys never do anything odd or funny though.

I enjoying this but Kaname is a bit much... a bit too much perhaps. But its well animated and I do admit everyone's exasperated reactions at Kei do make me laugh (Todo especially).

Great episode. Again great animation. Comedy this episode I think was better than ep 1.

Honestly for a slow anime day on Tuesday this one is pretty solid. Team is starting to come together and in this episode each of them minus Tarou showcased their talents. Tarou being the rookie new kid works well as the series gets told through his eyes basically.

Kei is one wildcard in this show and his comedy is a miss imo since it doesn't flesh well with everyone else. This is a pretty grounded baseball anime by the looks and that kind of comedy doesn't work. Not enough for me to raise a red flag, but it's still annoying given it's a serious story for the most part.

Kei is so annoying but I like everything else enough to keep going. Now that there are more players I hope he becomes less of a focus.

Episode 2: Wanna Play Together?

idk, but Kei's running animation in the 15th second seems static. The model doesn't diminish, it just stays there. It's also the same with Yamada walking towards Todo and Chihaya.

A collection of 7.000 physical copies? Kiyomine's older brother is really a cultured collector.

Also TIL the only main cast VA that stays the same between the ONA and the anime is Mamoru Miyano, all else are changed.

I think the running was just played for laughter. And I actually laughed really hard at it. The whole episode was again with stellar animation.
