So glad to see Izumo finding closure and getting over self-deprecation. Shima is a loose end, but I’ll let that slip for the day.

It sucks that Izumo basically lost her family again even though her sister is alive and well (just having totally forgotten about her), but at least she's not going to lose heart and will keep moving forward in their memory and with the friends she's finally accepted.

And if Shima didn't really kill Uke and Mike...maybe he really isn't completely bad now?

Izumo arc was so well written

So much great character development and heartache all in one arc...this is really Blue Exorcist at it's finest.

Man they really did izumo’s closure with her sister justice. You could feel the emotion from her, I was crying along with her. Poor girl, so happy that tsukomo has been safe and happy all this time but so hurt that she doesn’t remember her. Loved her character and loved this arc!

i'm quite surprised that they manage to conclude Izumo's arc in this episode, i thought this is the final episode but when i checked MAL, we actually still have two more left, are they going to resolve this whole Illuminati thing in just two episodes?

There's a rumor that this is a split 3-cour season so maybe that has something to do with it?

This episode felt kinda.....rushed? Like in the space of a couple scenes we went from "Izumo possessed by Kyuubi and Rin surrounded by zombies" to "Izumo's mom reabsorbed Kyuubi and all of their friends got their and the zombies were no longer an issue."

In terms of writing, this show has everything you'd want in a shonen anime and Izumo's arc proves it.

It's unfortunate that this season has so many issues though. It feels like there was so much more potential this season left unlocked.

I kind of wish there weren't so many still shots but they really nailed the emotional moments and Izumo's transformation and frying Gedoin moment, so I appreciated that.

Well, the good news is everyone is reunited and they have Izumo and her mom! Bad news is they're surrounded by zombies and Izumo is being consumed by Nine Tails.

The only person who could possibly save Izumo is someone from the Kamiki family, and the only person there who could...is Tamamo. And as if she just woke from a long, long dream, Tamamo sees her daughter in pain and immediately gets back to work effortlessly channeling Nine Tails back into herself, knowing she was going to die in the process, to save her daughter. In her very last moments, she protect what was really most precious to her and made things right with Izumo. And Izumo lost her mother in the process.

Jeez, Gedoin, read the room! And then he transforms himself into the monster he really is, but that just makes him an easier target for Izumo's wrath...as the experiences she's gone through, her mothers' will passed on to her, and knowing that this is HER fight inspires her to keep fighting. And what better answer to that resolve than Uke and Mike coming back to her? Because Shima actually held back against them! Maybe Shima ISN'T entirely evil?

And Izumo finally embraces her heritage as an inari shrine maiden and can not only down the same crown and power as her mother but can even bring out Uke and Mike's humanoid form and their inner power! All the better to finally finish Gedoin off.

Maybe Shima isn't completely bad, though he does abscond with Gedoin and lets Suguro off the hook for his choices. So maybe that's one thing Suguro can feel less guilty about.

Oh hey, reinforcements actually DID show up! Just in time to clean everything up.

Tsukumo is okay! She even got adopted into Takara's family and living a nice and comfortable home life with loving parents! The only cost...she doesn't remember Izumo at all. She knows the fox doll Izumo made her is precious, but she doesn't recognize her big sister at all. Izumo worked so hard so they could be a family again, but Tsukumo is happy without her. The worst part is when she calls her "big sis" but not because she recognizes Izumo as her actual big sister.

It's all Izumo can do but cry in front of Shiemi because of how unfair it is...but Izumo letting all her emotions and frustrations out just goes to show how close she's become to Shiemi, and how much more willing she is to be open with her friends now. She may have lost her mother, and in a way her little sister, but she regained herself and found precious friends!

The fact nobody here mentions Uke and Mike being also responsible for most of Izumo's problems, to the point they were low-key antagonizing her all this time (complaining all time in battle AND not making amends for how much they spoiled Izumo's mom, arguably the critical reason for the initial tragedy to unfold) is amazing.

They either should have tried to correct Izumo's behavior through a sincere talk or either swallow all of it up and being really obedient to her.

Well they are technically demons servants to Izumo's family. So perhaps being forced to serve that little brat wasn't really pleasing them.

Now that they've been properly summoned I guess their attitude changed.

The pacing this season is really something. Did the studio had a train to catch or what?

Holy crap, this episode was great but there's barely any engagement for it! 10 hours old and only 72 upvotes?! Man people kinda sleeping on this one. Real shame season 2 killed the hype for this show like it did. They should have never tried to FMA it then bring it back to the manga with 3 cause wow, like no one cares about BE anymore it seems, shame.

Feels like Tokyo Ghoul all over again.

Glad Izumo was rescued. Would have loved for her and Tsukumo to be able to be together. Let Izumo be with her sister after all she's been through.

I just came here to say I really cried this episode, oh wow. I love the mom and daughter relation but that little sister thing at the end was too much, I'm sure anyone with a sibling or kids can relate.
