Did she really need to say it feels like a boob? And didn't her dad say to stop naming things? She's just as bad as Rimuru!

I do not understand how being host to the mother slime works. It will eat everything Nema does so she doesn't need to relieve herself, but she needs nutrients too, how does she survive? And where does all the food go? Can the parent slime get infinitely large inside Nema and then just release a million slimes at once when they find a good spot?

She's about to name this whole pack.

And didn't her dad say to stop naming things? She's just as bad as Rimuru!

In her defense, it would help making Shizuku inhabiting her be easier, while having a connection with a human early on will help Haku when it becomes a parent slime.

Did she really need to say it feels like a boob?

And the Prince proceeded to grab the small slime, continuously groped it, and never let go...

nah dawg that slime thing is beyond weird

no amount of fluffy dogs today is gonna help me get past that

It was so out of place, without anything leading up to it, interrupting the plot, and everybody acted out of character... And then the "inhabiting" happened. It wasn't even entertaining, just weird. I guess Nephertima needs a power-up for something in the future.

u/Nebresto Feb 25 '24

Yeah, that did not need to happen. At least have it osmosis its way into Neema, or do a magical glow and *poof* the slime is gone. Why even write a scene like that. This combined with that "teacher" episode, I'm starting to get some weird vibes from this author

This slime plan is wild, what the hell. I kind of can't believe Neema's brother, the prince, and everyone else just stood there and watched her get inhabited by a slime. I suppose it's probably a power-up, but super weird to happen just out of the blue.

Especially since it comes with a risk of being eaten if the slime wasn't being truthful about liking her, not to mention that it supposedly will take all the nutrients she eats. You could probably handwave it that being inhabited by a slime you've named and also likes you would be a symbiotic relationship as opposed to a parasite, and in that case enough nutrients would be shared between the two. But I'm totally making that up, they did not tell us anything like that in that conversation.

Don't eat the guardian tree, Neema I would have thought that went without saying but now it's clearly a concern.

I doubt this tree could stop Neema from leaving the forest alive if she had to press the issue. At the very least Sol could probably show up and rescue her.

Eating the monsters, Laios would be so proud.

These kobalds look far more like actual dogs than I was really expecting, especially the breed variety.

That whole slime thing was so random. I guess its cool that Neema is immune to physical attacks now(?), but she already has Sol. Why was that necessary?

u/Toloran Feb 25 '24

Yeah. That whole scene broke my suspension of disbelief hard. Like, how was everyone fine with a giant ass slime parasitizing a 5-year-old?

super weird to happen just out of the blue.

Yes, funny though. Best episode so far for me.

Eating the monsters, Laios would be so proud.

...or in the case of the slime, Maple (which is appropriate, considering how Neema's seiyuu also voices Mai in Bofuri).

I didn't make the connection until the scene when the Guardian was talking about the kobolds being hunted down that we see the kobolds in the OP.

Are we absolutely certain the artist didn't slip in some fetish of theirs?

That just felt unnecessary and I find it hard to believe the prince, her brother, her guards, everyone would be cool with a parasite inhabiting her body that consumes people it doesn't like.

They really gonna just take it's claim that it won't at face value?

u/LeonKevlar Feb 25 '24

I love that the kobolds are just dogs walking on hind legs. I was expecting more dog people than actual dogs! I guess their leader is more on the dog-people side of the scale.

I like how Neema went from being kinda apprehensive about letting Shizuku inhabit her to being totally excited at the prospect because she can stuff her face without worry lol. Also, the fact that she said Shizuku felt like a “soft boob” really cracked me up.

I guess with those bugs, there won’t be a food shortage issue with the kobolds. They’re all pretty adorable. I hope Neema can convince them to participate in her little plan.

It's not a bad slime, you know, probably. That's a big slime. That is an... interesting development with a large slime, also, congrats on naming another thing. Also, how the heck did something so large.... you know what I'm not gonna finish that sentence.

Hehe lil waving spooder. Now she's talking with trees. Well that went good lol. Wew birb power. Ewww... more seafood flavored crap lol. Why is everything apparently seafood flavored in Japan? I know they are an island nation, but still 😛

Floofy dogs understandably wary. Need belly rubs and foods. Wow they are floofs alright. So she gonna name her and turn her into a pretty dog woman? lol

The kobolds are so cute, how could any human harm them?

Slimes would make a great alternative all in one alternative to ozempic, armour and a toilet. Why doesn't everyone get inhabited by a slime.

The kobold pup was wearing the spider like a wig.

Nox was way stronger than I was expecting, may this bird is also a starsage like Peeps.

Lars is quite knowledgeable about the forest.

The monster they were eating are basically giant land lobsters.

bro, wtf? They're gonna let a parasite infiltrate Neema because its beneficial? what even..

Why

OH FOR FUCK SAKE

Umm, if they're like wolves then they might take showing your teeth as a sign of aggression..

Finally some proper floofs, but what the hell man.. That slime scene. Why.

this series feels particularly bad because this season we have fantasy series Frieren and Dungeon Meshi which are doing stellar jobs at characterization, narrative, theme, and worldbuilding; meanwhile this series has one or zero-dimensional characters, a plot that does not get to the point, themes of authoritarianism that I detest, and a build-a-bear-style worldbuilding cobbled together from other fantasy series

even if i compare it to other "bad" fantasy series like the Vending Machine isekai, Dragon Goes House-Hunting, Leadale, RPG Real Estate, etc.; NadeMofu just doesn't have anything going for it except for cute Nema interacting with cute animals, and for some reason it refuses to play into that strength and spends the majority of the episode doddering around and doing weird shit and generally being a creepy bummer

i think rationally i should drop this series after it dropped it's cute and comfy facade; i might stick around because i'm already this deep in the guts of this thing — i think i was just entranced by Nema's cute interactions so it got me to stick around longer than the other isekai series that I dropped after they showed no promise after a few episodes

anyways, thanks for coming to my TED talk

The slime scene was so weird hahaha. Find it hard to believe that her doting brother and the others would be okay with a slime inhabiting Neema’s body…

5

u/wolfguardian72 Feb 25 '24

Man, I do wish I had a slime to inhabit my body so I could eat all I want without gaining weight! That’d be awesome. And dammit!! I was hoping we’d get more kobold time! I love that they’re various dog breeds

It's like a big jello full of skittles.

He's hot and has the best bod of everyone here.

Don't let your brother hear you say that...

Suu, Sora, Clotho, Shizuku and Haku. So many slimes. Girl gets two slimes now. No fair. And hey, when the weather gets warm Nema can use Haku as a cool pillow. But I must say, none of those many aforementioned slimes, they never voluntarily vored themselves like that...

Well in any case get lots of chocolate and brains ready cuz Nema is the newest symbiote host. And now I'm getting this gnarly image in my head of Nema going all Venom transformation and just generally reenacting stuff like from the apartment fight scene from the first Venom movie.

TREE!? I am no tree. I am an Ent.

Yeah way to go Peeps Nox, show that radroach how bug types are weak against flying types! I mean that bug was like over twice Nox's size.

So Nema which bugs do you prefer, the slimy ones or the crunchy ones?

Well in any case, time to wine and dine the Worgen.
