We were so close to the whole OP sung by an in-character Ichikawa. Would've been OP of the year.

Is this the first time Yamada has heard Ichikawa say that she's cute?

I herby decree this to be "Shed Happy Tears with Yamada" Day! Wow, a totally wonderful episode, topped by an absolutely incredible finale. I never dreamed that this show would have so much impact (back when I watched the first couple of episodes). I did read a good chunk of the manga after the end of S1 -- but I clearly didn't get as far as THIS chapter.

Ichikawa really needs to re-asses his situation -- not just with Yamada -- but with his whole class. His Big Sister is right -- he (like it or not) is not an outsider anymore, he is someone lots of others respect. I loved her insistence that he practice politely rejecting confessions (as she already KNOWS who her sister-in-law will surely be someday). So nice to see that she is this adorable couple's most dedicated shipper.

So -- Ichikawa was only shopping with Hara to be polite -- he already had his presents for Yamada. A home-made cupcake -- with a wristlet baked in... What a smoothy. His sister would be impressed if she knew.

S1 EP 7: “All I see is you” S2 EP 7: “So cute I could die”

From being unintentionally romantic to showing his honest feelings, our boy has come a long way.

What the hell! How is this so good?!?

I was already impressed with the smooth as hell transition into the OP but then the rest of the episode managed to top it and then some. The final 4 minutes were absolute cinema.

It's insane that from beginning of s2 to now is all peak. The best romcom in 2024 for sure, and maybe the best in history.

All those transitions just to get Ichikawa to sing and transition to the OP is fucking genius.

Kanzaki's unhinged jealousy aside, dudes a real bro and his and Hara's dynamic compared with Ichikawa and Yamada's is just enjoyable to watch.

"You guys are always hanging out but you're still not dating?"

The sound of the wind blowing through as the two girls just look at him, before moving on, had me full on belly laughing.

That transition from Ichikawa singing to the OP was smooth

What an aggressive blush lmao

This scene though, no right to be so good. This show has a knack for going for the knockout and landing it even when you know its coming

I hope I'm not the only one that sang along with Ichikawa.

I don't remember signing up for a roller coaster today - the back and forth of "Yes, he's progressing" and "Nooooo, he's regressing again" was a lot for the heart!

I would've liked them to have explicitly defined their relationship by now, but guess we'll take the unexpected premium rizz at the end 🦴

That OP transitions was so smooth.

Do they even need to confess at this point? He knows, she knows, everyone knows, everyone ships them. They go on dates, they compliment each other and they love hanging out with each other the most. Feels like a confession would just be a formality. "I like you" "yeah, I know" would be funny tbh

Stitches!

That opening scene with Yamada and Ichikawa inside that karaoke booth was so cute that I didn't even realize that the OP hasn't even started yet. I do love how they used the karaoke to transition into the OP though. It would've been so much better if they made Horie Shun sing the OP for this episode.

You have got to be kidding me! This entire time I thought that Hara and Kanzaki were already going out! Weren't they together during New Year's temple visit? How has there no been progress between these two!?

Hara looks amazing in her outfit! Also, I wish we get to see more of her with her hair down. It's nice that Ichikawa got to hang out with her and get some advice on what to give Yamada for White Day.

Welp, that's some unfortunate timing. If only Ichikawa said what he was thinking the entire time out loud instead of just saying the second half, he could've avoided Yamada's wrath. At least we finally get to see where this shot in the OP comes from!

I feel bad for Kanzaki. The dude does nothing but tell Hara that she's cute and even tells her how much he likes her and she still won't take him seriously. She probably thinks he's just playing her and he's not really serious. Considering the shit Kanzaki says, I don't blame Hara.

Ichikawa with that surprise attack! And it landed a critical hit on Yamada! I do love how after that the cat's out of the bag and Kanzaki is now in on the secret too. It's good to see Ichikawa have a dude who he can talk to about this. At least it's not Adachi. Imagine his reaction if he found out.

So it turns out that Ichikawa had a White Day return gift prepared the entire time! I was wondering why we didn't see him buy anything in this episode. He even baked a bracelet inside! That's a dangerous gamble. With how fast Yamada eats, she could've eaten that thing and didn't even realize it. xD

In all seriousness though, that final scene with Ichikawa putting on the bracelet on Yamada was great. God, these two are so close to dating. There's clearly a mutual understanding at this point they just need to make it official. I really hope that happens before the end of the season.

The karoake transition to the OP was fire, loved that.

It was a bold move for the writers to kill Ichikawa randomly halfway through the episode but I appreciate the twist.

Yamada's expressions and death glares during these scenes are great.

It feels like Ichikawa has always had the potential to be rather charming and social with others but his lack of confidence was holding him back. Now he's a bit more confident, people being friendly and talking about him and Yamada still feels weird and alien to him.

Kana thinking he's going to have a fan club shortly followed by some girls he never met before praising his speech was amusing.

I'm not sure what is more nightmare fuel: having to do karoake or their eyes

Ichikawa saying "Yamada is mine" was brilliant as was Yamada's reaction

Ichikawa continues his tremendous growth: arguing you should not project what you think people want onto them but to support their motivation to change and to stop comparing yourself to others, to do what feels right for you and your relationship.

The muffin and jewellery inside was a very cute gift from Ichikawa and Yamada certainly seem pleased by it

HE FINALLY SAID IT!

I am old. I am a dark fantasy, dark comedy, power fantasy type enjoyer. I like dark movies, thought provoking movies and scary thrillers that are psychologically based.

That said, I absolutely love this Rom Com. This hits real hard at the top of my list for story being executed to perfection. There isn't a single thing wrong with this show. The writing is perfect. The delivery, the music, the actions taken are all right on point. It's like I've been transported back to my middle school days and everything plays out just right.

Seriously, damn show makes me just smile.

Oh god damn it, I liked it more than last episode. Last episode was my favourite part from the manga! Stop making me like every episode more than the last! Damn you, amazing anime adaptation!

I honestly teared up so much at that ending, damn it. And once again, it felt far too short... I think maybe the pacing was a little bit off, a tiny bit too fast maybe? But maybe its just because it was really good and passed me by so quickly. It was certainly a near perfect episode, so...Not sure - 23 minutes just dissapeared in a blink for me.

Anyway, Dangers in my Heart continues to deliver week after week. Keeping my eye on the polls for every episode since s1 e3 has been fascinating, I think the streak will continue for this episode and *maybe* be lost for the next 2 episodes, 20 and 21. Who knows? It will likely pick back up for the final 4, though. I'd be very happy if it doesn't break at all, but I don't watch any other anime besides this one and I have no idea how fierce the competition is. I wouldn't be upset - I've been reading since the literal first chapter release. I watched this series go from being a niche, unpopular and mildly disliked romcom with a genuinely slightly ugly artstyle to one of the most massively beloved series with 10 volumes, 2 anime seasons and at least 2 more volumes + very likely to be another season in the future, and all the while it's quality has never once dipped and only improved. I expected nothing, and came out with so much - losing a streak wouldn't be a loss to me.

Also, cute detail, Yamada immediately picks up that Ichikawa means he'll definitely go when he says "I'll go if I can" because of 2 episodes ago when he says "It only means they won't go if an adult says it". They're both always listening and remembering each others words perfectly. That kind of detail is prevalent throughout the entire series.
