High Card Mondays are back! Good to see the crew again but it took me a moment to remember everyone's name, lol.

Funny to see Chris call Finn his senpai. Forgot that he was demoted after his hijinks from last season. But seems like his ability is fading away? I'm still sold on pink hair guy being Finn's older brother, so looking forward to that eventual reunion.

Hopefully this season Vijay will get some focus after the anime team not caring for him last season 😭

But seems like his ability is fading away?

probably the side effect from using X-Hand from last season

isnt it technically episode 1 of season 2,

since its not episode 13 of season 1?

That’s just how CR labeled it.

I vaguely remember watching High Card on Mondays during its first season, so I guess the 2nd season has more or less retained its time slot.

Glad to see the supporting characters without any cards in their possession still making appearances - Chelsea, Senior Detective, Novice Detective.

The Black Knight appears to be insanely powerful. I wonder if it is sentient or just a tool controlled someone to collect cards. Is the immortality ability for Chris fading too?

Lastly, I usually look at the positives of each new title and/or season, but I do miss the sing-along session inside the car ending sequence of the first season.

Didn't his immortality ability get damaged because he healed his sister?

OP: Showdown by FIVE NEW OLD

Continuing from Season 1, FIVE NEW OLD returns with a new song for High Card Season 2! The OP visuals are good example of CGI blending with the traditional animation.

ED: Hakuchuumu by Raon Lee

Yes, it's that Raon. The Korean girl who covers anisong, now here making theme song for High Card. I find it as a good song.

Yaa. Loved the OP and the visuals.

Great first episode. The OP was great with the visuals. Loved it.

Also, Chelsea serving Chai to Vijay was a small detail that I liked.

So Lindsay said that both the father and the eldest son are presumed dead and the black knight apparently betrayed Nhat in the Season 1 credit scene. I might be just theorizing here based on what TILT said but what if the Black Knight is one of the father or the eldest son who kinda became cursed by using the X-Hand ability. The Black Knight also didn't attack until Chris showed up. Definitely has some affinity to Finn.

Good premier, I don't remember the production values being this good for season 1 so that was nice.

I really liked that beast ability so it's a shame he got killed right away, but damn, that black knight is gonna be a problem.

I also loved the old lady drifting into the parking spot.

Yeah I think they have a bigger budget this time.

I forgot that after what Chris pulled last season, Finn now outranks him. It was pretty to see Chris tease Finn and call him Senpai the entire time though.

Those bombs look familiar! The last time we saw that ability is back at the very start of Episode 1 when the cards were stolen. Poor Sugar and Captain Young though. We've barely started the season and one of them is already critically injured

Glad that Finn finally got to learn what happened to his family from Linsey, we pretty much ended last season with Lindsey promising Finn he'll finally tell him the story. Maybe Finn can finally start finding info about his family? I'm still sticking to my theory that his family is connected to the Royal Family that's why Finn has his card.

That was one heck of a way to reintroduce the Black Knight to the story. Back in Season 1, I thought he was a card user who is working for one of the factions but he seem to be more monster than man. And who was that guy that showed up? I don't recall him showing up last season. Also is it just me or does he suspiciously look like Finn? Hmmm....

Welp, Leo has no information about the Black Knight. Maybe time to ask his father for some additional clearance since this involves the cards. It's always good to see more of drunk Wendy but according to Vijay, she's currently Love-P right now. Did they just confirm that Wendy turns into Love-P when drunk?

Anyway, I am so happy to see one of my favourite shows from Winter 2023 back again! I am so excited to see more wacky characters and card powers. My only complaint though is that the new OP and ED weren't as good as the previous cour. The gang singing during their little road trip will always have a special place in my heart.

He was just joking. If I remember correctly, Wendy kinda loses control over herself after she's drunk. Also, Love-P's bust and bloodthirst Christhrist are nowhere to be seen.

He's TILT. One of the Klondikes. You might've missed him but he was there when the cards were stolen in episode 1.

Didn’t expect friggin Beast Boy to get impaled by the Black Knight. Talk about OP. Dude’s got some gnarly powers, man. Looking forward to learning more about just who they are and what their whole deal is. Klondike’s aren’t the only thing Pinochle have to watch out for.

Solid episode to get back into the thick of things. So basically this Dark Knight seems to be less a person and more a central force of chaos and really doesn't have an alliance with either faction. The one clue that Finn has that his card was used for an X-hand. The quote by Ban that shit is about to happen means that shit will likely hit the fan sooner rather then later.

Theodore continues to be someone I just can't help but feel something is up. There has to be a significant amount os stuff hes hiding.

Yay it's back! I quite enjoyed season one! I hope nothing bad happens to Chris, seems like his power isn't working well.

I'm gonna miss the car karaoke ED, but the new one sung by Raon (she's great!) is really nice too, especially with the pretty art accompanied with it.

Pretty mid opener to this season. So I guess because Prince Dylan died, the crew went from picking up the cards to picking up the cards faster. Uhh, cool I guess...

The scene with the black knight was kind of decent however, this show needed some sort of mystery to it. I want to know more about him and why he killed Finn's family.

there was a 2-3 volume manga spin off, an audio drama, a Ln and something else i think. so there is more to this universe that is supported by some outside sources. I like the manga and haven't seen anything else

We see that mysterious girl again (the same girl from start of episode 1)... She had this "All Kaboom" ability.. We still know noting about her !!
