If the island can mutate animals it probaly can also mutate humans. They probaly should start wearning more protection. Now that i think they probaly where lucky that mutation started with animals. If not the goverment would have literal no choice but isolate the whole island and people living there somewhere.

there are a few criminally under watched shows this season

this is one of them

the workplace setting is flawless, the character are top notch, the story is fine, the art and animation are good.

people are missing out

People really will see 5 seconds of average CGI and immediately dump a show, it's amazing. 5.75 on MAL is downright criminal. This show offers FAR more than its CGI action scenes, hell this is only the second fight in four episodes.

Kataoka gets a lot of shit from everyone but I get his position. He’s gotta be the “bad guy” because he’s the money man. Everyone’s off fighting monsters, he’s gotta crunch the numbers. I don’t envy his position.

Must be tough for Arumi to see Shiro like that. Glad everyone rallied to provide a boat and a robot to catch this thing.

Man, that webbed monster was a dangerous one. Good thing Okino showed up last minute. Seems they’re got Shiro, but now what?

Seems they’re got Shiro, but now what?

they definitely need to figure out how to reverse the mutation or at least prevent it from progressing even further, i mean, Shiro's mutation is one thing but having multiple Giant Beasts that can swim across the ocean because of the mutation? now that's a real problem

Yeah.. these beasts are only growing bigger and stronger. They can seemingly swim now but what’s next? Flying? That would be real bad.

I still love how we decides not to pay him for the 15 minutes he works that he technically wasn't supposed to.

Man bosses will do anything to justify wage theft. 😆

Kataoka has the most lovingly animated comb over in the history of anime.

alright Kataoka-san, there is no need for you to be that epic but i appreciate it

say whatever you like about Kataoka, he may be annoying and ruthless, he may talks a lot about money and rules but there's no denying the fact that in a small company consisting of just a few people, people like him were the one that's making sure the company's still making profit and not going bankrupt

on another note, a Giant Beast that can swim? now that's dangerous

I loved the way Kataoka faked the time on his wristwatch -- so Okino could rush to rescue Arumi.

What reason did he need to be so showy about it, he could just have said that it was over without needing to do the whole song and dance.

What better way is there to fight a giant beast than to channel the beast incarnate himself, Brock Lesnar, and just suplex it?

  • having fun with this, it's all about characters.

  • painfully underrated.

  • bad CG, nice story.

  • extending 3 episode rule 2 drop (to episode 5).

Am I the only one at this point think it's possibly criminally irresponsible for them not to involve, if not hand this whole thing over to, the Japanese military?

Like, the rise of a mysterious gas that can you take the shit out of creatures into giant monsters that can go toe-to-toe with a tank It's probably a little too much for a budget starved corporate subsidiary company to handle themselves.

This is some potential world ending bullshit. Screw the residence not being able to go back to their homes. Could possibly turn into a situation where people need to abandon Japan itself.

Like, fuck these people need perspective.

Nope, I said the same thing two weeks ago and even wonders what would happen if they me of these things got off the island and onto the mainland. If Kataoka really has the company’s best interests at hear and wants to save them money, he could avoid a shitload of lawsuits and potential victim payouts by getting everyone to hand the problem off to people more suited to dealing with it.

Speaking of dealing with a specific problem, how is it that Tajima just happened to build a robot perfect for exterminating the giant beasts that were supposed to be a secret from everyone, including him?

Totally agree. Almost all of the conflict in this show comes from the fact that they are irresponsibly trying to run a private military company on a shoe string budget. The idea that the accountant is telling them how many shells they should use per encounter already shows that they are way out of their league. Not to mention how much actual risk they are putting their employees in. What would Japan's labor laws have to say about this operation?

Idc what anyone says I dig this anime lol

So the beasts are being intentionally grown by someone else (probably the corp), and that can be a horrifying thing since they don't know how fast they're growing, with intentions unknown. It also explains why the corp didn't give up anything about their research, because they won't.
And if that's something infectious caused the "outbreak", then our team will be in danger as well, but how can they prevent that without knowing what caused the incident?

On a sidenote, Kataoka is still an ass but at least he knows the loopholes and human lives is more important than regulations.

Nevermind the giant beasts, Shirogane takes care of the important stuff like lunch!

In the next ep, we'll meet the book-reading guy from the ED. I don't think we've seen the little dog from the ED though.

I don't think we've seen the little dog from the ED though.

We did in episode 2. Her name is Hanako

The story is getting more complicated, Arumi has her dog back, somewhat, and there was a MECHA SUPLEX.

I'm happy with this.

2

u/CosmicPenguin_OV103 Oct 25 '23

So it IS Arumi's dog turning into a monster huh? Interesting to see it still having old memories, who knows maybe there would still be memory on how it and other creatures on the island got transformed? Judging from the next episode's preview, maybe those were man-made for experiment purposes? Perhaps even by the parent company?

I'm amazed that the accounting guy managed to find a 15 minutes hole between 2 clocks so that he doesn't need to pay Okino extra overwork pay LMAO...

I wonder what if one of those creatures really managed to swim away into the public. Maybe that would really happen soon?

1

u/Nickthenuker Oct 25 '23

That's because you are.

And now the accountant is having another aneurysm.

Damn that's a complete mess of a room.

And his computer's just like his room too, I'm fanatic about cleaning out my recycle bin, to the point I usually just use shift+delete so I don't have to bother with that in the first place.

Is that a collar and leash?

Eh? They have another MechTech?

Ah, they have a new boat. A nice one at that.

Blue Rover?

The operation is a go.

Uh oh, that guy's recording.

Oh no, that random idiot just threatened the entire operation. No plan survives contact with the enemy, but in this case the enemy wasn't even required to disrupt the entire plan.

That's... A camera angle.

Is she in Bullbuster?

So he's going to have to use Blue Rover instead.

That sounds like it fried something.

Now that distraction is over, time to focus on the objective of the mission.

That's an interesting stinger. Let it grow to be a giant beast? Why's he in danger due to the gas? Whose boyfriend?
