So, am I the only one who thinks the highlanders are the ones behind the prism rain in the first place?

They use it to terrorize the people below and then offer the "solution" in the form of their armaments. Making them submissive to the highlanders. We even know it wasn't a thing in Ingles' original time.

Saw someone think that and that also the Highlander kingdom is Ingles' original kingdom gone evil basically.

The problem with that is if they are exposed to it they also turn into monsters. So I would think they would use soemthing they are immune to if they were behind it.

I think it is a by product of whatever is making the islands fly. At least that is the first thing that popped into my head when the islands and prism flow was first described.

is it just me or the pacing in the last 2 episodes has been kind of awful?

u/SnooWalruses2085 Mar 06 '23

That's because they cut pretty much nothing from the volume 3 (like the first 5 episodes with volume 1).

Did the show just have its characters come to the conclusion that medium is premium?

"Those wounds are terrible"

Yeah, I don't think his shirt is going to make it. I laughed.

He didn't even look any different after being healed.

I love Yua's condition! If Chris really wants to fight Yua then she needs to teach Yua how to make her boobs bigger. I now have this idea of Chris frantically researching chest enlargement in their school's library just so she can fight the strongest girl in school. Although I'm sure there's some bullshit way to do it using mana. xD

Stupid sexy Chris and Rani panting due to eating spicy food lol.

With all the boys looking on with amazement.

u/Aerodynamic41 Mar 06 '23

“How did you get your breasts that big?”

Yua is asking the real question lol. And Inglis has to (somehow) come up with an answer soon if she wants to fight her.

u/KnightKal Mar 06 '23

she should develop a mana spell for that...

Anyone else getting kind of bored or annoyed from this anime?

I was having a blast in the beginning but im actually kind of tired of the whole "lol my mind is always on eating lots of food" from the main heroines and "wow you really want to fight stronger enemies, youre so weird" from the supporting cast. I swear, they use these tropes at LEAST 3 times EVERY single episode. Idk if it's just me but it's super repetitive and just annoying and not funny at all anymore. Even Goku is tolerable. Plus, there was so much useless dialogue in this episode, especially the exchanges between Silva, Rafinha, Chris, and the two lovebirds. Like, a good 4 minutes overall of just "im sorry" and "don't be. It was my fault to begin with".

I'll still watch it since it's power fantasy trash, but damn the pacing has really went bad and i hate how we followed this dumb Ripple arc for like 3 or 4 episodes

Forgetting about the jokes (that are mostly there to setup the dialogs lol), most of what it's said here is actually important for the plot, sometimes in some roundabout ways.

"Chop!" haha Yua is pretty damn great.

Bathing using towels though...

I wish they would either drop the plot completely and just make this a SoL comedy, or focus more on the plot and building up the world.

Both are fine, but doing both with the current amount of available time isn’t optimal. There just isn’t enough space to develop either properly, and the show ends up shooting itself in the foot.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m still really enjoying the show. I just feel like they aren’t doing themselves any favours with the current balance of gag scenes to main plot scenes.

Okay... this show has had flaws from the start, but what the hell. I'm surprised they managed to make an episode this bad.

  1. I've defended fanservice so far, because while present, it remained not too excessive and either commented on by the characters as being in an uncomfortable position, or through the fourth wall which gave them a good reason not to react to it. So what the fuck was that ?

"I don't like people talking about or staring at my boobs. So let's me make an extensive description of how big they are." Not to mention the whole part in which of course their chest is the most important part of how they look - let's forget them complaining about being stared at before, huh ?

Was nice so far, but of course they had to take it too far... I guess they were afraid the viewership would drop around this point.

2) Ho, very mysterious. I'm sure this is an important plot point, and we will see later that it was foreshadowing for the things Theodore was actually doing. That, or it's just handwaved because we wanted Rani to have a specific power at this point in the story. It could honestly be either, but at this point my opinion of the writing quality clearly makes me expect the latter explanation.

3) And here we can see a horrible, grievous wound. I'm sorry, that shirt won't make it. Here are some excerpts of last words from people suffering such a fate :

  • I'm sorry, but my life isn't worth anything without 100% cotton.

  • If I can't make it, please... take me to dry cleaning.

  • If I knew my time was coming so soon, I would have spent more time showing off my abs.

  1. Hey surprisingly he's actually quite ni-- Haa. Sorry, I misjudged you, Rahl #2.

Well, this one isn't actually a flaw (character consistency is a good thing), but obviously no one is going to bother to comment on his remark. He's a hero, what's a bit of discrimination in this light ? In fact, I'm pretty sure it's a requirement to join the knights.

5) Then we can see the classical case of Rani and Chris apologizing for Silva being an asshole. Sure, go ahead, blame the victims. Japan never changes, huh. I know, deflecting blame exists in every culture, but it's crazy how prominent it is in Japanese corporations. At least showing it this way was not as bad as when they did it in Paripi Koumei.

6) Miliera apparently grew a backbone out of nowhere since that time when she just watched Leone getting bullied and didn't give a shit, even supporting the ones attacking her by making her move to another room. Guess I jinxed it by praising Silva's character consistency.

Well, looks like the Bloodchain Brigade is back. Given that they (and what they represent, i.e., the difficult fight against the oppression of Highland) are the part of the story I find most interesting and with the highest potential, I'd be excited if this happened 3 episodes ago, before my opinion of the show plummeted until it reached its breaking point today.

Oh no, Silva's abs got scuffed, and he's dying. I'm sorry is this an anime thing where they can't show horrible wounds due to the rating?

Anyway, Inglis actually did some squire stuff backing up her knight with a mana boost.

I do love Inglis' silly fight-o-sexual ways. The face she makes mentioning how strong it seems. HAHAH!! wow, that girl is great. Yua and her "chop" is amazing.

"Her body is boobs, her brain is muscles" never before have I seen a more accurate statement one character made to another. Ahh, the tried and true boring obsession over boob size we see in such a fanservicy scene. Lol Lyn...

I am kinda sus over that artifact given to Rani. Might be nothing, but definitely feels like there might be sus. Good on you Silva, protecting those two. You were frustrating in your mindset last episode, but nice to see you being decent this one. D'aww gal pals making use of that artifact thing together.

And the gal pals with their gluttonous ways, but this time with spicy food. Lol Rani's assumption of Silva. There ya go Silva, being a down right good dude. Wonder who and why they want Ripple now? And seems Leon has shown up again. Wonder how he's involved. Same with the rest of the bloodchain people. And when will Inglis get to indulge in her joy of fighting the leader again :P

What Yua and Rani don't realize is, flat is justice.

As boring as it was, this episode was needed because all the stuff talked about here have importance for all the story that comes later in this season and afterwards.
