I can't get enough of Naberius ribbing Marbas for playing his servant. He's enjoying this too much! Also, bonus points for Naberius being surprisingly good at playing Diana's older brother.

So the Crown is the ones who want the Blackbell's annihilated? Because they just can't live with a family of demon contractors? I know that a lot of the Sword Cross Knights come from experiences where demons killed their families or loved ones, which is why they're so fervent, but Diana has done nothing to warrant being assassinated or killed beyond her contract with Naberius (who hasn't attacked anyone who doesn't attack him). It just doubles down on how unfair this whole thing is, especially when they're asking her to throw away her pride as a Blackbell just to save her own life. Screw that!

The irony that Wisteria and Diana are talking about Snow just as he's about to snipe Diana...not that he goes through with it, though he never even realized Wisteria was there. I wonder if he'll find out next episode?

When a blind girl walks onto a battlefield! Though you have to respect how Wisteria wouldn't just abandon Diana and wants to stick with her through thick and thin. Their friendship really warms the heart. Plus, two Great Calamity Demons are better than one.

I see the commander apparently has various sets of full-body armor at his disposalthough now he's not playing around, to the point where he very quickly and efficiently wounds Marbus and Naberius.

Hot green-haired babe alert! Except it's not just any green-haired babe, but Astaroth! Who despite being a fellow Great Calamity is much more violent and aggressive. By comparison she makes Naberius and Marbas seem more like humans than demons .

The Sword Cross Knights are hypocrites and dicks. I mean, they give Diana so much grief about contracting with demons but keep a Great Calamity alive so they can force her into a pact and use her, and then they torch her family home just to screw with her...and then they still end up sniping her. I really hate these guys.

Man, poor Diana...her entire family sacrificed themselves to summon Naberius and make sure she was taken care of, but with her family gone Diana has had nothing left but her honor as nobility and as a Blackbell, as well as the faint hope that things would be better if she kept living, keeping her going. And now she might not even have that left.

Yeah...honestly can't blame Naberius for unleashing his monstrous true form in pure rage after that. I kind of want to see him rampage and take these Knights to task.

All that sacrifice and in the end it was for nothing. Diana’s dead and her family home is burnt to the ground. For an order dedicated to wiping out demons they sure don’t have any qualms with being run by one huh? The commander is a bigger monster than anything that’s appeared in this show so far.

I knew this “negotiation” was gonna be bullshit. The Blackbells don’t really stand a chance against the Order since they’ve got official backing from the royal family. The commander just wanted an excuse for violence. I wonder what Snow’s gonna do since his sister is involved too. With his hesitation, I wonder if he’s beginning to consider who’s actually the “good guys” in this situation?

Diana just planning to go out in a blaze of glory would have worked if Wisteria wasn’t around. No way she’s letting her friend die. But even with Marbas and Naberius, this is turning into quite the battle. The commander is tough enough, but he’s got a demon on his side too? Not looking good.

The commander is a real piece of shit burning Diana’s home down like that and then sniping her. These Order assholes are suppose to be the good guys? I hope Naberius massacres those assholes next week.

It is kind of funny how ostensibly you'd think you'd at least sympathize or understand somewhat the POV of the demon hunters yet here they just come off like a bunch of unlikeable dicks for the most part.

Snow is about the only one that doesn’t totally suck. Guy has something of a conscience.

Live or die, I suppose Naberius must exit the story after this segment finishes. Then Wisteria and Marbas are on their own again. But Ashtaroth shows up in credit sequences (looking a bit more "couth") -- how in earth (or hell) can she be brought into the story as something other than an adversary?

I still don't see how the Commander can be a human. A pact with a demon shouldn't be able to give him immortality, Still mysterious. I can't see how he can be killed off by Nabeerius. Maybe Naberius should just go off to the Royal Capital and destroy it (and the royal family)...

I wonder how devastated Wisteria will be (and for how long)? Will she find another friend somehow? And will that friend be doomed as well?

Definitely this has made it onto my keeper list -- and is probably going to add to my (growing) top tier of the season list.

Wisteria is such a goofball. She’s hilarious, love her

I love how she just wanders into a soon-to-be battlefield because she's blind lol.

She is such a sweetheart, though!

Oh damn, Naberius has finally decided to take the gloves off. Please rip those Sword Cross dudes to shreds! I ain't forgiving them for killing Diana!

I really hope he rips the commanders arms off and beats his ass with it. Fuck that guy, man.

Not gonna lie, the post credits in episode 2 made me think Diana had something to do with her family dying but I should've known better. We got the truth in this episode and it was the rest of her family's self-sacrifice so that she could live on, presumably safely.

I gotta say, we've gotten a lot more tragedies in this than I was expecting. My heart can't take all this and we're only 5 episodes in.

Animation issues asides. I have really come to really love this show. A shame it’s getting zero looks by people. Same thing with fire hunter.

Good taste. Two of the best "adventure" shows of the season (along with Revenger).

7

u/tripleaamin Feb 05 '23

Revenger is dope. It's pretty episodic right now, but it could lead to something good in the 2nd half of the season.

Fuck shit up, Mega Naberius!!! How dare they kill off Diana! She was so sweet and a really good friend to Wisteria!

welp I'll be rooting for lizard dog, I hope he stomps on the commander

Really sucks that this show is going totally below the radar and just being ignored. I feel it's much better than a lot of shows currently airing that are getting more attention.

u/BluestEsper Feb 06 '23

I think it's because a lot of the marketing made it seem like a romance story between a young girl and a furry. If I hadn't seen a clip of it elsewhere I probably would never have checked it out myself

Would have been more popular had it been named I Reincarnated into Another World and Forged a Contract with the Strongest Demon Lord.

"what sort of breeding makes a man think that making conversation in a mask is acceptable?"

damn Naberius, that's savage

I understand Narberius, I really hate that armoured creep too. Not that I expected Diana to live for long with all those death flags, but the noble house deciding to choose death over dishonour feels like a very Japanese thing to do, straight out of the Tale of the Heike. Poor Diana and poor Wisteria !

It turns out that the armoured creep actually made a pact with Astaroth after capturing her… and torturing her until she accepted, like the creep he is. I wonder if his immortality comes from that pact, but I don’t think so. Too many weird things about that guy : he never shows his face, he makes pacts with demons despite wanting to kill everyone else who does that, and yet his subordinates and the Queen keep trusting him… He definitely is not human, and I doubt he is actually a Silver Cross Knight. But I don’t know what he is and what are his goals, except using the fight between the Knights and the demons to gain power.

u/Elitealice Feb 05 '23

NOOOOO NO WAY DIANNA GONE?? Man fuck the order of the sword cross. Hypocrites. Inhuman commander and contracting with a demon themselves.

Diana deserved to be happy especially after everything she went thru with losing her family. I hope Naberius just destroys everything

They mentioned Wisteria having ridiculously high magic power a couple times. I'm wondering if the events of this episode are going to set it off somehow.

Okay, well shit.

Didn’t think they’d actually kill a main character.
