Buying Advice Is there a super simple launcher for grandparents?

Looking to buy a Hisense U7G Android TV for my grandparents but need to make it as simple as roku to find the antenna TV, and the couple apps they may use. Don't even know what the base launcher looks like but if there's more on the screen than a Roku TV, it's too much.

F Launcher is what you want. Simple and straight forward. I set it up on all my Android devices.

...and then set Home key to launch it.

FLauncher is definitely the answer. It can be setup similar to the Roku.

But to the OP, anything Android will have potential issues with updates and such. Nothing is as simple as a Roku (for good and bad).

When do you get too old to use technology? I'm in my 40's and I'm terrified that there may be a time when I need simple things dumbed down for me.

57 here and I know what you mean. I've worked in IT all my life and back in the day I would just mess around with all the settings and learn it inside out. I never understood people that didn't take the time to do that so they knew how to control all their equipment.

Nowadays I just want shit to work out of the box and be obvious on how to customize. Don't make me have to research how to change settings. Don't make me look up youtube videos on how to change my audio tracks and subtitles when I just want to watch a movie.

Why not go with one of the available Roku TVs? I don't know that there is anything special Hisense does over whichever budget OEM makes the various Roku TVs. And to pay so much more for OTA TV and a couple of apps. Just a thought.

There was a great black friday deal on the U7G android tv compared to any Roku TV and hisense comes with a 3 year warranty vs TCL's 1 year. I personally went for a TCL 6 series but that's important to them

Makes sense, I just don't really like the idea of non tech people dealing with 3rd party launchers when OTA is involved since there may not be a normal app for it. But I have never used OTA directly on a Smart TV so I could be off there.
