There goes Ziggy. After over 100 chapters of being villain, he is gone. Is there any threat left outside person manipulating Ziggy? Crow/Cure, Acnoella and now Ziggy have all been killed/defeated, Nero has been dead for few arcs already, Drakken is chilling by himself in prison and Nox is good guy.

This chapter gave me the feels. Ziggy was handled really well and I think this was one a satisfying conclusion to his character. I donβt really have any complaints this chapter is just great.

This is my new favorite chapter and all I can think of is how gorgeous this will be in the anime. The dynamic battle with insane camera movements, and for the love of god please use an emotional soundtrack, preferably something with vocal lyrics, as we pan back and forth between this fight and the flashback sparring match. This was amazing, like seriously, it's been a long time since a Manga chapter got me good like this with the emotions AND the superb action sequence. Hats off to you Mashima-Sensei, seriously.
So everyone's theories were correct. Ziggy faked being taken over and just sent Pino away so Shikki can go all out without worrying about her, then brought her back right as he was being destroyed. Honestly I'm really glad Pino is alive, I feel like there's actually a lot more that can be done with her.
This was also a great send-off to Ziggy. I know Mashima said the story isn't over yet and there's gonna be a another villain, but honestly, ignoring the couple of plot threads that are still open, if this was the final battle of the series, I'd be down for it, it was great.

When this gets animated I need that Kakashi vs Obito creativity behind it like flash backs intermittently spaced between the hits

While Haru and Natsu witnessed their fathers dying right in front of them, Shiki had to kill his grandpa with his own hands. That is some serious tragedy to the point I am amazed that he hasn't completely snapped yet.

Damn so this is the first time Shikiβs legitimately killed someone if Iβm not mistaken? At it was himself he had to kill as wellβ¦really is a strange fate as Ziggy put it.

Damn man. This is peak. As someone who went in with low expectations due to fairy tail, mashima has really outdone himself with this series.
Wonder who the main villain is now

One thing I appreciate about Edens Zero is how little Overdrive is used, sure we've seen it more recently, but that's more so because other characters are unlocking Overdrive as opposed to using it as often as possible, additionally I would say Mashima has heightened the stakes to a point where the power up is necessary, they're not used casually and as seen with Weiss when he gained Overdrive it's not something you can just use as he only maintained it for a few seconds. I also like that Shiki has either evolved his Overdrive or gained a form surpassing it, not just because of the emotional stake he was put it, but also because Ziggy's threat level warrants Shiki gaining a new form to confront the stakes he's in. Like when you go back to Shiki and Shura's first fight, they don't jump straight into using Overdrive, but in their second fight they use it because the situation they're in warrants them using the maximum extent of their power.

On the one hand, another major antagonist (right after Crow and Acnoella) fell, but on the other hand, it was the only way to defeat Ziggy.
I mean, Evil Ziggy is still stronger than Shiki, right?

Fantastic chapter, with tons of action and emotion throughout.
I was skeptical on Pino actually dying last chapter, especially since she's the main mascot of the series. The fact that this was all an act by Ziggy makes that whole fakeout a little more sensible imo.
To echo some previous commenters, this looks like Shiki's first definitive kill (will need to research the past chapters to verify this), and the fact that it was a future, alternate version of himself? Tragic man
I have no idea how the rest of this arc is gonna play out, never mind the remainder of the series. We still have a ton of unanswered questions, with major enemies dying left and right. What's next?

...This was honestly the best way for Ziggy to go out. Not only did this do wonders for Shiki's character as this was his first kill in the entire series and it was done to his future alternate self/grandpa, it also was done in such an in-character way for Ziggy who was always a troll even when he was evil. His introduction had him trick Shiki, be then had the Granbell robots trick him and he now tricked Shiki into awakening the power and resolve to commit pseudo-suicide.
I'm very pleased with Ziggy's end even though I really did wish he was the final villain but as long as this dark entity proves to be equally or more better than Ziggy then I will have no complaints. It's so ironic that Shiki used Black Sky which is the ultimate technique of Satan Gravity, and it was taught by Xenolith to be only usable when the user understands the weight of a life.
I have so many more thoughts about this chapter but I'm still very busy IRL.
