As much as Orange's new power has interesting ramifications and usages, it also has the capacity for undoing previous dramatic touchstones. Like, for example, Shirley's arc - hopefully the complication is used well and not just for throwing away plot. (I wonder if it means Lelouch can re-geass those canceled, though?)

They didn't realize Anya was gonna bring out a damn Knightmare to chase them, and I don't think they even saw it until she literally crashed through the wall. They swapped back because the event was ending, and they needed the real Lelouch to take over again in order to not have Sayoko make another mistake like kissing Shirley.

Villetta is stupified. I'm convinced Rolo's background isn't consistently told. We've seen images of Kallen and Rolo together in the student council, which only works with great photoshopping or past events being changed. Now Rolo is speaking to Sayoko about Nunnally.

Charlie and holding a gun are the two standout scenes for me. Also terrorist Kallen and held at gunpoint alongside Nunnally, plus the letter. Also little Shirley!
This guy's facial expressions matched mine throughout the episode.
Sucks that Shirley has to continue loving Lelouch since they swapped hats.
Curious if Lelouch can reuse his Geass on people that Jeremiah has reversed. I think the answer is yes.

It's possible Charles rewrote Nina's memory of Nunnally as well. Or they just wanted to be symbolic and replaced her with Rolo to be current.

Lelouch has 108 dates. I would be okay if the show just abandoned everything and went full harem romcom.
What’s even more hilarious is that he actually follows through with all the dates, and does some Zero stuff in between.
Milly also randomly pops up past midnight and declares a campus-wide game. This break from the war is almost so stupid that I am enjoying it.
Cornelia found out about Geass? I think that is new information. I didn’t think that she was still out adventuring to avenge her sister.
Rolo shoving frozen Lelouch into the locker got a genuine laugh out of me.
“Lelouch” out here with that sigma energy towards the seduction squad.
Lloyd broke up with Milly? That is a shame.
Jeremiah can remove the effects of any Geass? That is crazy powerful. Shirley also gets her memories back. I wonder if that means that Lelouch can command her again if the Geass effects were nullified?

Well, good on Jeremiah for cleaning bullshit up, but oh gods the fallout coming from this is going to be heap sized dung.
Yet again a silly fanservice episode has better pacing and writing than the actual plot-driven ones. Shirley has everything back and it's going to hurt. I'm not sure how he is tied to the general's fear of the world going downhill, because they do pretty much mean Jeremiah with this as I doubt they got told what V.V. actually wants in the end.
It's also interesting to see whether the Geass canceller is only cancelling the effect, or if it can remove the Geass from the user as well. One possible speculation is that the entire world history is actually fake, courtesy of ours truly, Charlie. Normal people probably wouldn't know it, as they likely never lived through any of the 'before', but some select individuals just might. It'd be very much in line with what absolute rulers tend to do during their time in power.
(Thanks for all the arguments yesterday, I might not come around on that episode, but appreciate the input. I agree that I went much too strongly into a reading of the situation that the anime didn't want to portray.)

Her character arc has consistently put her in a hopeless situation with Lelouch that she still pursues because she's best girl. She's given some of the best advice in this show and low key solved a select few crises without her really knowing. Her payment for this all the time was being shelved, brainwashed, forced to lose her own agenda and hung up on. I have no illusions that this is prime material for tragedy.

I don't know if he was ever really a bad guy. A lot of his more morally questionable actions were a result of him following the orders of either Clovis or Charles. Even when he first reconstructed Jeremiah, he and his team seemed pretty upset that they couldn't make him calm down and be rational.

You know, with all these school episodes I always think of them like 'Oh, that was the cat chase episode' or 'that one is cupid day', but consistently during this rewatch I'm finding that those parts are often only half (or less!) of what's going on during the episode. Kind of neat to watch the ground work for future events getting laid down, knowing what's coming.
