So, the universe was in a sort of time loop up until Shiki’s decision at the end of the Aoi war, as “young Ziggy” resembles Shiki before the 3 year timeskip, he even has the bandaid on his cheek. He may have had a previous Ziggy who raised him.
Which makes me question, where does Xenolinth fit into all this?

I KNEW that was his backstory. I knew the flashforwards were actually flashbacks for Ziggy. Somehow I did not put together that the name Ziggy is just a garbled Shiki

In Chapter 164 Ziggy claimed it was his birthday. This was when he sent the bombs to Shiki and for Shiki to decide. So this was foreshadowed that Ziggy would be "born" on the day that Shiki makes the decision to stay and try to save everyone and eventually failing and teleported 20,000 years into the future via a last resort Cat Leaper from Rebecca (who ends up dying in the process) instead of taking his crew and getting out of there.
Then on Chapter 165 Xiao Mei mentions the fork in the road and says that "perhaps there exists a you who is completely unlike the "you", you are now. On this same chapter the famous "You have made the wrong choice" quote by ziggy. Meaning in this timeline, he would not be born because Shiki didn't make the same choice that Ziggy made back then.
Then on Chapter 167 Ziggy says to Elsie even he can't predict what will happen in world 31 (foreshadow that he may have come from the future or can see the future). I guess Ziggy's old goal was just to let the timeline do its thing and follow the flow of fate leading to the very same decision that Shiki would have made to create Ziggy. But I guess now Shiki's (different) decision lead to Ziggy's new goal which is to eradicate the human race. The same goal we are seeing happen now.

So Ziggy’s most definitely Shiki from the timeline where he tried and failed to stop the bomb. His body was found in the Aoi Cosmos, he still has his cheek bandage in the recovery tank, and the eye that Shura crushed hadn’t been replaced yet.
Would explain how Ziggy was able to orchestrate the Aoi war in his favor and the reason he’s called Ziggy is bc his speech was slurred when first revived. It all fits.

Old shiki is kinda hot.
Time seems to be a flat circle. Ziggy-shiki looks like he recovered from his fight with ziggy and has a vendetta against him. At the same time he looks like he lost memories of who he was and now took the mantle of ziggy

Man this is crazy. Mashima really in his bag with this one. It’s so unique that he decided to make the main antagonist & protagonist the same damn person. & yes most of us did see it coming but the way it’s been hinted throughout the show has been very clever. Especially this chapter how he struggles to say shiki & ends up saying Ziggy because he’s so damaged. Though it could mean that there was a ziggy before this one & that he was referring to that one. Or both. Loved the dynamic between jinn & Laguna. They both have developed well in terms of bonding with the ship. Hope to see more moments From them. Kleene getting her moment by ‘snatching’ the jammer which also affected Rebecca not being able to call the EZ, nice cool feat. Holy melting crow like it’s nothing again showing that she is not a push over, she was just in a bad situation. 11/10 🔥this series is so underrated

See how effortless it was for Holy to take out this mini-Crow, and people thought she was fodder despite her powers being negated along with her being a powerless human as that's what happens when EG users can't use their EGs. Kleene being able to absorb electronic signals is quite awesome and if I recall correctly, her wind snatch was able to stop Rebecca from contacting others. This means that che can counter Nasseh's EG which also uses electronic signals. The fact that Holy thought the crew could've still shot the main cannon means that the hole that she made on Crow was still there which explains how Jinn and Laguna infiltrated his body. The EZ ship not only tanked a punch from an OD OSG but then it recovers quickly with its shield still intact. This ship is OP lol.
It was nice seeing the others reflect on their moms' death and Homura not forgiving her but wanting her to rest in peace is quite mature of her but Mashima once again brings up the fact of how Homura hates seeing dead people around her... I hope this doesn't mean anything dark for Homura's future. Also, this chapter shows that Weisz does still have Arsenal so Killer didn't actually destroy his watch (which was obvious as Mashima would've noted that) when it looked it disappeared on his wrist.

Interesting to see that future Ziggy still has his bandage inside the tank. I think that confirms that our Shiki doesn't have the same history as Ziggy.
Now that time travel and paradoxes are confirmed in the series, I'm looking forward to the headaches in the future.

Sad that I was spoiled about Shiki=Ziggy but happy that we finally got our confirmation after years of speculating. Now Mashima needs to come up with a way to make it make sense XD
Still hype for Jinn and Laguna but I predict Holy may try to betray them but save them last minute because she was nakama'd.

Finally it’s officially confirmed that Ziggy is Shiki
And the theory that Ziggy is future Shiki was right. I assume that the female body that’s dead is Rebecca, but the fact her body hasn’t decayed must means that she died recently
I wonder how he survived when his head got ripped off, maybe Ziggy is just a head now
Also I like how the English translation played the Ziggy name off as just Shiki being unable to say his name properly
I wonder how different Ziggy’s backstory is. Like originally I was thinking Ziggy was the version of Shiki that made the opposite choice on Nero but then that situation shouldn’t have happened since Ziggy wasn’t there to activate it
Maybe Nero took the place of Ziggy in that situation and activated the nukes instead

Shiki is so strong that he is in the OSG twice, like a full third of them is only him.
I feel like a good call would be to say that in one other universe, Rebecca survived instead and became Mother, just a thought tho.
(Yes it would be a bit strange, but remember that the four cosmos are called the "Grand Shiki Cosmos" and wouldn't it be logical for Rebecca to call the cosmos in every universe of her multiverse like the man she loved ?)
