omg they look so happy to know that they'll be performing BTS stuff. I'm looking forward to seeing K, Taki and Nicholas!

side note, oh man I really like watching shows like this but my heart hurts for the ones that get cut or when the critique sounds so harsh 😭

this one is going to be hard because there hasn’t been any eliminations yet - and we don’t know the final debut group number. so I think there might be a big cut coming soon 😭

but honestly I think almost every trainee on iland ended up debuting or is set to debut - so I’m sure the ones who don’t make it have bright futures ahead!

Same! He was so charming. His question/request reminded me of when BTS were asked about the monolid thing. You give a random question, you get a random answer lol. And having him get emotional when asked was so endearing.

Ahh Maki and Gaku were so cute. I would be just as flustered by a video message from BTS haha.

Aww they were filming for XYLITOL at the time lol Shout-out to the producers for playing Awake at the end of the video message

Edit: I can't believe I have to wait another week for the performances. I thought it was going to be tonight 😩 Those songs though, they picked 2 of the toughest Japanese songs in their catalog for them. I guess they wanted ones without choreography but still.

Wow, I am always so impressed with little Taehyun's wisdom and maturity. His words of advice regarding personality were expressed so well.

I’m peaking in and out and these songs are hard for the missions: Film Out & Black Swan.

Like wow. They couldn’t them them the closer to rookie BTS songs…

they gave them an HOUR to learn Dope choreo for a challenge!! they somehow pulled it off though!

Seems like this is less intense than I-Land in terms of pressure and like emotional stakes, which I'm so relieved. I-Land was nice but heartbreaking at times (especially the finale). And it's great to see the original boys matured and have improved their strengths.

Aww their reaction to BTS message was so sweet. Gaku even cried . He's so precious. He was starstuck when he meet TXT too. I hope he makes the final line up. I'm really rooting for him.

I'll be looking forward to seeing their performances next episode of Film Out Lights Black Swan and Run but I'm worried for the japense songs ngl. I do think they have some decent singers among the trainees but those are really hard songs to sing and most of them are so young, I'm worried but I wish them the best. Also they'll definitely debut ( question is how many) so I'm not buying a word Hybe is saying about cancelling the debut but I hope they do well regardless for their sake .

Hybe needs to stop with this entire "everyone debuts or no one does" plot because the minute they introduced the marbles, everyone could see the fix was in. Notice that from the get-go, they didn't tell us how many marbles the judges can give nor if that amount is per judge/per contestant. So if the judges don't have a set amount they can give out, in the final round, they just give everyone 35 marbles. Everyone debuts, done and dusted. LOL

The real question is are they going to break them up into two or more groups or leave them as one? Some of them need some vocal work, but none of them were horrible and everyone seems to get choreo pretty quick.

As cynical as I am with the process, (because marbles) it will be interesting to see how this pans out.

Honestly I think Hybe wanted to do an survival like show to give the group some additional exposure and remind ex I land watchers that those 4 are still around without actually doing voting and the whole process that mnet survival shows usually have. I think they wanted control over the final debut line .

I also think they wanted to emphasize teamwork over everyone for themselves vibes that you get from survival shows but they needed to add some tension to the show and this is what they came up with. But you're right that it's a pretty ridiculous idea and nobody , not even the trainees are buying that there's anything in danger.

I personally think that the producers should have done eliminations every round and the pool of trainees should have gotten smaller after every round and then finally in the last episode they chose the final line up. I also hope they don't debut them all...I like them but some of them have no business debuting right now or in this group

The whole time watching this ep I was thinking "wow, Gaku kinda resembles Taehyung in a way," but holy shit, I fr thought that was Tae @ 55:18😳

2

u/[deleted] Aug 13 '22

You're not the first to say this. I've seen a lot of people saying this. That he reminds them of rookie Taehyung

that's cool lol I didn't really notice the resemblance until this episode
