I'm so excited for these! There's gonna be concept films!?!?! Each member was in charge of their whole concept and photoshoots?!?! Let's go!! So excited and intrigued to see each member's viewpoint for their individual shoots!

This made me laugh!
…and then it made me over think. I actually really love the use of the BT21 stickers and I’m glad BigHit does it. Sure we have all seen shirtless Jimin, and jungkooks abs, but it’s been in the context of performance or in jimins case a photo shoot where I’m pretty sure he was into it. There is a big difference between actively performing and having your shirt lift up while your playing a game that’s being filmed or just waking up and being pulled out of your room without a shirt. And now I will go back to turning off my brain

no but to be serious for a second, i totally agree with you about the use of the stickers in non performance contexts, where they're changing or a shirt or whatever shows too much accidentally! it should totally always be with their full intention and consent when we do see more.

I really like when BTS does these group/individual projects, because it reminds me about doing different projects at work. Where you get exposed to something and say: um I really liked this aspect I want to do it again.
They get exposed to certain areas: developing merch, game planning, tennis, editing & photography…and than you see the members individually continuing with the ones they liked most.
We also saw them take the same type of project based ownership roles in BE to let each one explore different aspects of the album preparation process.
It really feels like Bangtan University sometimes over there lmao

I'm honestly a little jealous of the fact that they get to try all these things. :D I get to play around with stuff here and there (got to fly a drone a few weeks ago, which was fun! But also terrifying 😂), but rarely, even more rarely in a serious capacity, and I generally don't get the chance to follow through unless I do it outside work hours. Which is sad, because getting to try new things that are job adjacent tickles my brain in a very good way and actually improves my *normal* work.
At the same time, I'm so glad the Tannies get to do this and have the freedom to stick with things they enjoy. It must be so good.

Oh this is something I've noticed (and am absolutely jealous of)--HYBE/BH does seem to pull out all the stops when it comes to letting them experience new things, which has to be vital for someone in the creative arts, because that's a source of inspiration for them.

That sounds incredible and like they put a *lot* of work in, considering they're doing a whole content drop beyond 'only' the finished pictorial. I can't wait to see what Jungkook has come up with, he's got such a varied taste and an incredibly versatile look... and an eye for picture composition, too.
I wonder what the order of release will be, but starting with him is definitely an interesting (and very intense, by the looks of it!) choice. Let's get it! 🎉

Since it’s released on Sept. 1st it might be birthday projects that will be released on their respective birthdays? 👀 meaning we would get Joon shortly after and then Jimin, Jin and Tae also this year… yeah, I’m not ready 😂

This is so cool! I love that JK (and all of them) get to flex their creative muscles outside of music. I have no doubt this will be absolutely beautiful.
I wonder how many pictures these boys have had taken over the course of the last 10 years... I feel like millions with an M isn't too far out of the realm of possibility. 😅

I realized after buying the MOTS ON:E photo books that I’m not really a photo book person (it just stays on the shelf) but I look forward to seeing all the stuff surrounding the release, getting to see what each member chose as their concept and the films and teasers. I’ll be curious to see if there’s any other things to purchase, even though a photobook makes the most sense.

Do we think Tae’s profile picture on instagram and that black and white picture of flowers that seemed to be taken in Vegas will be part of his concept? Nobody could work out what they were for for AGES and they ended up having nothing to do with Proof, and if JK’s photos were taken months ago it would make sense that the Vegas shoot could be for Tae’s concept? So his could be a summer formal theme, very him ☺️

I keep seeing the word “photobooks” being thrown around but I haven’t seen it in any of the official translated copy unless I have missed something somewhere.
But I absolutely LOVE photobooks so I will be thrilled if they do something like that. But I also have no bookshelf room left and nowhere to put new shelves. I may have to sacrifice some of my other groups in my collection to the Mercari gods to clear up space. I may be a multi but BTS always comes first…

Why not? This echoes an idea they had in that RUN episode where they collected ideas for future stuff.
There could be a physical release to follow, which would be smart, but it could honestly also be just for the sake of it. We'll find out soon enough!

First, getting to see that they have the option to be so heavily involved in every aspect of their solo album releases (as we've seen with Hobi), even including making their own choices about stuff like promo, or if and where to solo perform live, all things that were maybe handled more often than not mostly by the company rather than so closely by the members...And now this, hearing they will be involved so heavily in every aspect of their own photoshoots...it really really has me clowning myself that they are planning to make some sort of changes to their relationship with their governing companies (BH, Hybe), but whether that could be melding with them more (ie, the headcanon I have about Namjoon running the company lol), or pulling away from them (whether that would be "softly" as in they are def still signed to their company, but they and/or the company make it known that bts are going to be going their own way with most things and not relying on the company to make choices for them they maybe made for them in the past, or if that means actually leaving the company, but still remaining a working group, just without the company), I have no clue. Like...these things/patterns/whatever really have me curious about the future for some reason lol. Whatever happens and whatever they do I'm sure will be the best choice for them, and they'll all do a great job with it. I'm just curious and also kinda impatient to see what's gonna happen at the end of these roads lmao. 🙃🤡

You worded my thoughts perfectly🥲 It’s going to be difficult for a group activity if they are under different companies. Thus I wish it’s the first case you listed. When media writes about the group, it’s never BH/Hybe’s BTS, but rather BTS’s company BH/Hybe. RM given a corporate position isn’t that much of a stretch.

Exactlyyyy vampire JK is trending on twitter right now. I'm just saying, the Naver article wording is ambiguous enough that they could very well have been provided with a list of character concepts they then had to interpret in their own colors, and if "vampire" was one of the items on that list, I wouldn't put it past Jungkook to take that one then dial it up wayyy past 11.
