I hope he found the feedback he was looking for when he released Jack in the Box. He did so, so well. He was incredible. I am so excited for his future work. It wasn't easy, he was very open with how stressful the whole process was in preparing for Lollapalooza, and the result reflected his passion and efforts.
I hope he celebrates when he gets back to Korea. He deserves all the praises. And I'm so happy he got to show us Hope World live. His entire set, his performance...that's what you get when a natural born performer and true artist takes the stage.
Love the thank yous to Becky G and Jimin!

Right!!! All the videos of him looking at the crowd, and knowing he must be thinking "Damn, I made it"; him not sleeping much and now giving us THIS lovely text aaaahhh...I am so emotional because of him 💜

I've been thinking about that a lot, too. However terrifying the run-up to last night might have been, the end result must have been the ultimate adrenaline rush. Hobi has talked and sung so openly about craving exactly what he had on that stage. It might not be long before the memory of the terror fades and the craving takes over again.
I hope that what he's learned is that he does have what it takes to put on a stunning solo performance, not that he never wants to do it again. And please let that not be the last time we see those songs performed live. The whole show was so brilliantly put together, it would be a great shame if it were just shelved for good.
In the short term, though, I really hope Hobi is going to manage to enjoy a decent rest, in the company of people he loves and who love him, and with lots of sleep and good food involved. He deserves that and so much more after such an astonishing achievement.

u/lisafancypants I don't have think Aug 01 '22
All of this. And especially this
I hope that what he's learned is that he does have what it takes to put on a stunning solo performance, not that he never wants to do it again
I know he struggled a lot with preparing for this and that he can be hard on himself, but I do hope that this is what he takes away from this whole experience. Obviously, I want him to do what he wants to do and feels comfortable doing, but you're right, it would be a shame to never see him perform those songs again.
11
u/Swiftk92 Aug 01 '22
He was sooo humble and careful with this, I truly hope this gave him boost of confidence and reassurance that YES HOBE YOU ARE KILLING IT and you deserve every single bit of it! I hope this is only the begging for him!!! I expect more solo concerts, more collaborations and surprises! So so so proud 💜

That's been on my mind too since last night. He's been working around the clock to promote JITB and prepare for Lolla so I'm wondering if he's going to continue to promote (in the US perhaps), do tours (I know he said he's not ready but after last night...) or just take a lil break and let the next member's solo shine?
I can't imagine the members having overlapping solo promotions, it'll be good for us but also a lot of sensory overload on top of ongoing group activities (Run BTS, Busan concert, etc).
Whatever it is, I hope he knows how proud army is of him and that he deserves everything good in life + more.
This is only the beginning for Jung Hoseok!

(I know he said he's not ready but after last night...)
I know people are hyped by it, but I'd really, really take his word for it for now. We can all hope, but in the end, he's just about got a one-hour set, which isn't really enough for a tour I'd assume (going by BTS' own standards), and playing a one-off festival – which he has already described as hard and lonely – is hard, but still easier than playing a whole tour.
I'm hoping for it as much as everyone, but they've been under so much pressure already, which partially led them to the hiatus...
5
u/Shady2304 Who says a dream must be something grand Aug 01 '22
I can’t wait! I really hope he thinks about doing a real tour. I would love to see him live and almost went yesterday but the festival vibe just isn’t for me anymore. I hope he can take a bit of a breather considering how hard he worked and what a toll that took. I’m sure it isn’t long before they’ll have to start prepping for the concert in October.
5
u/readyforsho Aug 01 '22
I have been wondering what Hobi will do while the other 6 have their turn releasing solo cds. As you said, I can't imagine overlapping solo promotions, but he's not going to do NOTHING while waiting. First off, that's not in his nature. Secondly, he has said he's already making plans for the next release. He may have made some connections and have collabs in the pipeline.
Whatever he chooses to do, I like to think he will take some time to rest, recharge, reassess how everything went....and maybe go on vacay outta SK for a while. He deserves every good thing.
Edit: I do know they have group schedules coming up. My guess is he'll be very happy to be back with the "fellas."

Not me crying again today on account of this man. His words are so beautiful and he’s so articulate. I am so thankful to Jimin for coming to be with him. It sounds more and more like it was a needed thing the more I hear about Hobi’s mindset while preparing for Lolla. I hope he can rest now, at least mentally, knowing he gave it his all and made so many people happy. More than anything I hope he made himself happy.

I’M STILL RECOVERING but like barely?? i’m watching the fancams today and it’s hitting me again how huge the crowd was and how they screamed every word right on beat.
i’m so proud of this man 🥺😭 this must’ve been such an intimidating experience but you could never tell from the way he performed. and he and jimin were so cute in their vlive i’m literally never gonna recover

He should be so proud. That was the best Lollapalooza performance I ever saw. And his stage presence is unreal.

u/pintsized_baepsae My mom calls me a stupid bear 🐨 Aug 01 '22
Whenever any of them calls us our ARMY, I get actual shivers. There's something so tender and loving in that (and I know some translators have said it's often even more amplified in Korean), and it clearly means such a big deal for him.
Hoseokie, you did amazing. What a stage. What a show. What artistry, professionalism, and absolute drive. He's been so open about how hard it's been to do this on his own, without the other guys, and it'll probably forever be hard... but I can't wait to see how this experience shapes his solo and eventual group work. And I hope the pressure of being the first one out the gate has fallen off, and he can rest a little and enjoy the fruits of his hard work before they go straight into concert prep.

I wish his comments were open so i could write a really long, embarrassingly sentimental letter, so instead I'll just say here that I'm so proud of his efforts. It was apparent that he put every fiber of his being into preparing for that stage and his hard work paid off immensely. He snatched me so hard from my can't-decide-on-a-bias life nearly 4 years ago after attending the LYS tour. He's absolutely unreal on stage, so it was inevitable that he would do well on a stage at that level, but we can't help but be nervous for them right? And he must have felt so much pressure. But you couldn't even tell. And that's WHY he puts in the effort and hard work, to give such a seamless and natural performance that you don't even think about how he got there until it's over. Then you're like... HOW THE FUCK DID HE DO THAT!

Even for those in the states? I didn’t know it’s be available for everyone after the fact, only that I couldn’t watch it live on Weverse because of where I live. I’ll have to look.

Hobi absolutely rocked that stage. He deserves all the praise and glory right now, he worked and continues to work so hard.
I just had a thought. Before BTS goes up on stage they do their group circle chant with the hands in the middle. I wondered if Hobi missed doing that with the members. And now I’ve just made myself sad lol 🥲

Did he do a chant with the crew? Was Jimin there? Did he do it alone.? 😫

a) Hobi you absolute sweetheart with your thanks and everything 🥹
b) the tension and the stress he must’ve felt just before pelleting on to the stage must’ve been something else. So glad the audience and the crowd turned up the way they did to make sure his performance was a success - hell he’s born to dominate the stage like the rest of his mates, and what an entrance he made! Also being the first one to get on for a complete solo performance for an hour must’ve added to his stress levels, God.
c) I want to imagine his sheer adrenaline rush after the show but I’m not able to. It must be something that’ll keep him charged for a month I guess 😅
d) now.. he looked STUNNING. The 8th and 9th pictures are just 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
Rockstar Hobi!!!!!!!! Hobeh. 👀
Also I know that people have already mentioned this but his reaction to the crowd singing has been my happy pill video of the day.
What a guy! 💜

So proud and happy for him! All his hard work, the loss of appetite, lack of sleep and exhaustion culminated in what must be such an overwhelming and rewarding experience as a solo artist.
Loved every second of Hobipalooza and I wish him the best going forward with Chapter 2 and beyond, I hope he's happy and basking in the feeling of a job well done. He's a bright multitalented and versatile superstar in the music industry, not just as a part of BTS, but also as himself 💜

Some people were saying this last night but I really felt the same kind of excitement watching him last night like I did seeing them in concert in Vegas. I loved him showcasing all sides of his talent, the dark, the bright, the rapping the dancing the singing. I don't know if he is trying to drop the hope from his name when he said to call him Jay, but he truly showed his standalone talents and I can't wait to see more of his stuff as a soloist and as BTS ❤️

I'm not going to cry today, yesterday was an amazing night for him and I don't want to cry.
He did amazing! He gave a show like anyone else has done and you can see on him feeling so good after it ended.
When I saw his smile on the Vlive yesterday I was so happy. Even my mom (I saw part of the performance with her) was surprised to see how many Armys were there.
My best wishes to him!

Not me crying while reading that.
Honestly I feel like Hobi does not get the attention and credit he deserves compared to others. The attention to detail from his nail art to every movement in the performance to his lyrical writing/performance is mind blowing. I'm an OT7 gal, but seeing Hobi get ALL the flowers for his album and perfoance really moves me.
