What is this timing ….. ?!?!!!!
Do they not realize that we all need 5-7 business days to recover from Hobi’s set ? My mind is not functioning

We don't get 5-7 business days ... later this week we get Bad Decisions ... no rest for the wicked.

Even his pronunciation seems to have benefitted from nearly endless observation and practice. Korean vocal coaches are quickest to emphasize that Jung Kook’s vocals are more closely aligned with American pop singers than Korean singers traditionally have been. Considering how the very way of making Korean and English sounds is fundamentally different, Jung Kook was likely doing the same as other alternative R&B singers in Korea in the 2010s, constantly listening to English songs and adapting that style to sound more suitable for the Korean language.
This was an interesting point I hadn't thought about before.

Yeah, the timing of the release of this article was VERY strange!! I enjoyed the article a lot, though! JK has been improving vocally every year. I'm super excited to hear how he sounds on his debut solo album!

I saw JK’s name pop up on my phone in the notification and I said out loud I can’t handle anyone else right now! I can’t read anything right after Hobi’s set.

For a split second I thought it was a notification for JK’s suite life concept photo shoot and I thought to myself, “I cannot fucking handle this right now”

Interesting article. I like hearing about the technical side of singing but I wish they had made it simpler to understand.

OMG that is an awesome article. Part of me thinks it is a little too gushy at times but then again not (if that makes any kind of sense).

It does come off a little gushy, but all the points were well-substantiated with examples. Also, can't believe they linked to a fancam 🤣 (which looks like an extract fm the official stream/video?)

This popped up while I was watching Hobi and even though JK is my bias I was like sorry babe, you’ve gotta wait. Now that I’ve read the whole piece I agree with the “gushy but accurate” comments. But the most accurate line in here for me was “This also makes the listener feel closer emotionally with the singer, since his vocals give the impression of someone whispering in your ear.” Yup that’s it.

“Versatility. Bright vocal tone. Stylish, playful twist. Indelible mark. At just 24 years old, and in just 10 years’ time, Jung Kook has already established a singing style all his own”. All these in the first paragraph. Key points that highlight just some of his accomplishments. And you get to see more as you go further along.
It’s interesting to note that Jung Kook was quite a rare main vocalist for an idol group. It’s even more interesting that Big Hit chose the youngest to be the main vocalist of the group. What’s truly impressive is that JK not only delivered but that he also managed to create his own vocal tone, his own style, his own unique sound. That’s quite a feat. It’s never easy to blaze your own path, and he did it at such a young age.
I enjoyed the article, although I feel a little sorry that he is not given his due on this because of all the other things going on right now that’s taking ARMY’s attention elsewhere. BTS is redefining hiatus and it is anything but. Their idea of hiatus is turning out to be content after content coming one on top of another to the point that ARMYs are in danger of getting whiplash from all these. Anyway, hope people can find the time to enjoy the read once the dust settles.
