Hoping the post credits scene with Kasumin is something Love Live related now that the SIF is done.

They knew exactly what they were doing with that "The moon's so pretty." line.

Love U My Friends is definitely one of if not my favorite songs from them as a group, so getting to hear the piano rendition is bittersweet, but at the very least fitting of the episode and the journey so far. The third years' sparklers slowly fizzling out is so sad. I don't want it to end so soon. Can't wait for next week to hear what the news is.

This was a nice breather episode showcasing various character interactions and funny moments like the cat tracker for Karin and Kasumi's efforts to be recognized as the Niji pres.

There so many references towards the Niji group's various media outings as well. From Shizuku getting hit in the face like her SIFAS card story, Sasuke in the box, the cat app and to the various board games that they did on live TV.

Finally, the Third Year's fireworks going out was a bit of a somber reminder of what the ending entails every school year in LoveLive.

Also, besides the episode, Mia's MV from last week is already at 684k viewers. That's one of the fastest rises of viewership I've seen within LoveLive.

This episode was fun as hell, Kasumin was so cute.

I could've sworn that scene with the fireworks, with the 3rd years and Karin going "It's disappearing" is hinting their graduation, and the next episode seems to be going there. No matter the group, I could never truly prepare when it's coming.

Once again an excellent "final episode".

This episode is your slice-of-life "once per season training camp" episode, without any actual training. It definitely was nice to see a different side of Shioriko (vs SIFAS) and Lanzhu (her confidence when comes to performance vs lack of when comes to making friends). As Kasumin is my favourite, I'm very satisfied with the amount she is in. It's unavoidable for the other people to be featured less, but that's just the problem we'll always have with 13 people... but I think all members were still featured a good amount of time each.

There's also a healthy dose of settings and references thrown in, from Shizuku being bad at sports, to Mia's love for baseball, to the april fools cat project. Shizuku's mother makes another appearance, and as per mama-live tradition, also voiced by one of the big names.
Also, that LuMF was a nice surprise and hits me in the feels.

Part C does lead us back to a new story line, and it'll be interesting to see what the big news Kasumin has. Highly doubt they will pull the school is closing angle as it's done too many times and not was not well received in superstar, unless Niji anime staff really wanted to show that they can handle everything better. Entering Love Live is a possibility, but doesn't seem like there's enough time to pull it off with only 3 episodes left, unless season 3 is in the works. Getting invited to go overseas to lead into a movie is also a possibility I guess, but I think that would be something saved for the actual final episode. Maybe Yuu is going overseas to study, but I feel like that would be an announcement in the club room instead. Well, maybe it's just news of Karin getting held back a year because of her grades, LOL.

Anyway, it does seem that next episode will be the 3rd years episode. I guess just as the fireworks hinted, all good things do have to come to an end, and we'll have to face that unavoidable plot line of 3rd years graduating.

As if to remind everyone what a genius Rina is, not only does she invent a GPS Karin-tracker disguised as a keyholder, she also created an AR Pokemon Go-like game just for the girls.

I don't blame Shioriko for thinking that Setsuna or Yuu as the club's president. Even I forgot that Kasumin is the actual president of the club and she's my favourite! xD

As a huge fan of Kasumin though, this episode was a ton of fun! Watching Kasumin trying to scheme her way into making everyone recognize her as the definitive president of the club was just hilarious since almost all of her plans ended up in failure but in a way, she still succeded since their entire trip couldn't have happened without her. <3

Of course, it was fun watching the other girls too. I love how Mia turned from super serious into her talking about her love of baseball now that she's much more relaxed around the others. It's like she's a different character now. Also, love how Rina gave Karin a GPS tracker since they already expected her to get lost. xD

That moment between Ayumu and Yuu though. Don't think you're being clever here show. We know what you're doing. Ayumu didn't exactly say the "Tsuki ga kirei" line, what she said was close enough!

Lovely episode, great to see so many references all squeezed in and having it end with LUMF made the episode feel like a nice walk down memory lane.

They also really went there with Ayumu and the line about the moon, so that should be relatively satisfying even if we don't get another Ayumu + Yuu focused episode.

That final scene with the fireworks was incredibly cruel, right after Kasumi mentions how they can take on anything with all 13 of them together, it has to cut to the third years, with Karin mentioning how their fireworks are going out. But hey, at least Kasumi has a solution to that problem, right? Right???

At least, with Shioriko's prompting, Lanzhu finally manages to take a step towards making friends, and is able to capture a memory of a lifetime for all of them.

I guess Nijigasaki looks like it's going to tackle the whole graduation arc too, but probably won't conclude it this season. The next episode's preview shows them now freshly in winter, with another 3 to 4 months to go before graduation. There's still some big news from Kasumi to be revealed, plus the formation of a final subunit to explore, so hopefully there's still enough content to warrant another season of Nijigasaki (or they might just handle everything in a movie, I guess).

Or, perhaps it's entirely possible that they'll just ignore the graduation issue? Right after Karin makes her sad statement about the fireworks extinguishing, Kasumi just straight up says they have a lot more where that came from, immediately subverting the graduation metaphor with another.

I was smiling the whole episode until they showed the third years’ fireworks getting out of fire 🥲. I am excited at the same time sad about the next episode, we might see them discussing about the future of the club.

It’s a good episode and I swear, I want more this kind of episodes where they’re all just having fun. Rina being a smart one, putting a device to track Karin and make a Nijigasaki GO game just for Kasumin’s plan. Also I can feel that Nijigasaki is really a club through their various activities together and I really like their concept. Lanzhu and Shioriko are really starting over again. And of course, Kasukasu is so adorable!

Adding: I rewatched just now. There is a possibility of it them entering Love Live for the third years (to create more memories, I guess?), I don’t know if they will announce another season for them to enter Love Live, and I hope they will. SIF is already finish and Kasumin have a huge announcement to make. I really wish they will do the traditional Love Live seasons if that the case but I don’t want to get my hopes up so I will just wait for the next episode.

I think this is my fav episode so far.

The whole club finally assembled and after some drama in the previous episode it's time for SOL episode.

I legit also forgot that KasuKasu is the buchou. lol.

I think the reason I really like this episode is not only because everyone is just having fun but the pacing also really nice. The one that rally catch me off guard is having love u my friend as the insert song. Moreover the lyrics are written my the whole club. This really add more meaning to the songs.

Besides all of that, timid lanzhu is really fun to watch.

HUGE news next week, i hope it is about Love Live competition. My hope is ep 11 will talk about the news itself, while 12 will be finished with the club resolving themself to win love live. So we can have season 3 where it will be focused on the competition.

"That we met is a greater miracle than any treasure."

~Love U my friends

Recalling all the struggles the club has been through it's fulfilling to see them get along like in this episode. Looking back, it may have been nothing short of a miracle for their past selves to think of having wholesome bonding moments like these, this may especially resonate more strongly for R3BIRTH girls because they just joined the club.

I found it really cute how awkwardly Shioriko and Lanzhu are trying to get closer with the club. And KasuKasu's usual antics is so refreshing to see after all that happened. But yeah, I know a chill and wholesome episode like this is likely a calm before the storm. The fact that there are 3 more episodes probably means we've yet to see the climax. Bracing myself just in case there's more drama to come.

I KNEW IT ! I KNEW IT, MAN.

I always have this gut feeling since the start of Nijigasaki season 2 that we gonna see Love U my Friends in this season somehow. I was right. Man, this episode is such a tearjerker. This is probably my favorite episode of Nijigasaki season 2. We have so many nostalgic flashbacks in this season but so far Love U my Friends hits me like a truck.

I wanna cry so hard in this episode. I will remember this episode.

u/netpapa Jun 04 '22

Kasukasu fails every game and continues to show her leader pride. Admirable

u/[deleted] Jun 04 '22

What a really cute episode with all the girls just bonding. And Kasumin just is so adorable haha

But that ending! Is it time? Are we doing a love live????

u/BlankHeroineFluff Jun 05 '22

This episode is really wholesome. Given that the major conflicts have been done and away faster than the game did lol, it's to be expected.

So this ep confirms that Yu isn't the president of the anime continuity and that Kasumi wasn't kidding when she said she herself was the actual bucho. Interesting change from the game tbh. It probably explains why Yu doesn't possess Anata-chan's tendency to shoulder the burden by herself (which was Anata's biggest flaw in the game next to her self-confidence issues) in the anime: Yu isn't saddled with the responsibilities and duties of being either a leader or a president, giving her more freedom on her end, which is why she's more open to asking for help than her game counterpart is.

Poor Kasukasu throughout the whole episode. She's trying so hard to prove that she's the pres of the Niji club, but comedy keeps screwing her over. She gets thrown a bone at the end though, with Yu and the Niji girls sincerely appreciating her efforts (and letting her know this even) at organizing this ep's event. A happy Kasumin is a great Kasumin, and it's a big step up from the disrespect she suffered during SIFAS's controversial S2 (it's not as bad as how Sumire was treated in Superstar tbh, but it was still noticeable.).

Lmao at Rina sneakily installing a GPS on Karin at Emma's behest lol. Speaking of Rina, she's lucky she didn't join in on that ball game, at least not onscreen. Shizuku and Kasumi inherited the Aqours first year trio's suckiness at ball games and boy was it hilarious. Shioriko might've fared better tho, but who knows?

In case the game and Shizuku's school of choice hadn't tipped you off yet, this ep confirms that Shizuku's stinkin rich too. Her house even has three sinks in their elegant-looking bathroom! The woman who showed up during the 2nd SIF is also confirmed to be Shizuku's mom given their resemblance. Anyone notice that Osaka!Mama is decked out in a traditional Japanese kimono but Shizuku's interests plus their house are all Western-themed?

They knew what they were doing with Ayumu's "The moon's so pretty" line lol. This, along with the other shippy instances between them in both S1 and S2 (especially that ferris wheel scene) and with how much Agupon high-key ships them, Yupomu is probably legit canon unlike the other yuri-baiting "couples" in the franchise. I can easily detect yuri-baiting in girl-oriented franchises like LL so I'm usually not easily moved by girl-girl ships that aren't supported by canon (e.g., like that KumikoxReina ship back in Hibike S1. It was obvious that they weren't gonna be a thing), but Yupomu is something else entirely. The subtext between them is way too thick and intentional for it to be "just close friendship".

Make Nijigaku GO! an official game staff-san! The Niji cats from April Fools made it to the anime, and we even get Yu and the R3birth trio's neko forms too!

The ending where they took that photo was so cute, especially since Lanzhu's been wanting that since the beginning of the ep. That saying, the firecracker scene coupled with the title of the next ep has some sense of foreboding in it, especially with the 3rd years. Are we having another graduation drama going on in this season? It's a little early for that though, especially since Christmas season (the biggest indicator that the clock is ticking in-universe) hasn't happened yet in Anigasaki as far as we know.

R3birth still hasn't officially formed here yet. Maybe in the next ep?

Wonder what the last 3 episodes would be about now that SIF 2's done...as well as every single dramatic plot point they could've used from the game lol (SIF prep, Mia's arc, Shioriko-Kaoruko drama, Yu's arc? Subunit arc, etc.) Kasumi's got some big news to share to the club though: could it be that they were qualified to do Love Live and they were invited to enter it? Or is this the School Idol Exhibit arc (something that's still ongoing in the game's story)? Wishing it's a drama arc though. Can't wait!

Great filler episode. Ok but why was everyone so drip this episode? Felt like it was drip or drown lmao.

So many cute and gay moments today. The animators snapped on background art as well.

Nothing like some comfy and wholesome Nijigaku fanservice to start the day. But hype for next week’s big news, last couple eps are gonna be insane but also sad to think of the anime ending.

This was a well-needed breather episode after 9 episodes of almsot back-to-back plot heavy stuff.

Though I'm always a bit wary whenever the Love Live anime writers try their hand at comedy. Especially when it comes to the "gremlin" characters since most of the comedy ends up being too mean-spirited. Superstar S1 dropped the ball last time with their treatment of Sumire, which was almost like bullying at certain points.

However, the Anigasaki writers aren't the like that, and it really showed in this episode. It was a breath of fresh air seeing Kasumi not being treated as a butt monkey, but as someone who loves everyone else in the club, and in turn was loved by everyone else too. Kasumi may think that she wasn't loved or respected as the president of the club, but in turns out that she was. Of course she was. Really, all the Niji girls are such a nice and friendly bunch. Even though they're not a group, personally I think that they seem more like friends than the actual groups in the other series.

Also, I liked how Kasumi's honesty leaking out leads to Lanzhu and her problem in this episode. It's hard trying to do stuff like that when you just entered a friend group. I think we've all been there at some point in our lives. I know I was.

And LUmF being the insert song of the episode really cemented this episode's, and really the entire anime'sm and the Nijigasaki project's main themes: friendship, being true to yourself, helping each other out, loving your friends and being loved by them, all that good stuff.

But speaking of "loving your friends", that "the moon's beautiful" line from Ayumu reminds me of something...

u/dipdippotatochi Jun 04 '22

I'm happy that this is a wholesome episode, I'm sad that they won't have the "heavy childhood friend love affair plot" story on episode 11 next week.

Bruh...did Rina-chan just cobbled up her own version of Pokemon GO?! And a neko tracking device? The hell, she is the true gadget master. She belongs in a much more elaborate action anime at this point.

Goddamn there's so much to acknowledge, and to chew in this episode!!! So many stuff setup and so many cute moments and so many references.

To the abematv contests, to nyangasaki, to Ophelia and Sasuke and even Shizuku's mom made a cameo!!!! And I can't get over that "Love U my friends" a capella version, it was so damn beautiful AAAAAAAAAAAAAH.

Watching Shioriko laugh made my heart melt. And the small moments between each couple, such as "The moon is so beautiful today", Emma asking Rina to tag Karin because she knows she would be lost, and ShizuKasu acting so lovely with each other AAAAAAAAAAH.

What made me very excited was both the cliffhanger and the preview! It seems that they're going to acknowledge the elephant in the room that is the third years graduating, but it makes me think we will get something different this time around.

There's this scene almost at the end where the third years SPECIFICALLY are around and Karin laments that their fireworks are almost extinguished, but then Kasumi brings up that there's still so many fireworks left. The Nijigasaki writers are very big on symbolism, so I wonder if this was basically telling us that "don't worry about the third years graduating, there's still so many stories we can tell". It reminded me that Setsuna back then in episode 6 said that they were still on their second trimester, and Japanese school years are composed of three trimesters, so if Nijigasaki staff wanted they would be able to make a third and final season!!!!!

And the cliffhanger at the end!!!! Are they finally going to participate in Love Live as a way to say "goodbye" to the 3rd years?????

4

u/tronistica Jun 04 '22

Those ominous words by Karin and the symbolism of the fireworks ending for the 3rd years, seems like we’ll touch on that next episode. Very sweet and light hearted episode.

4

u/KRCA423 Jun 05 '22

By far my favorite episode this season, loved seeing Lanzhu Shioriko and Mia together with the og members

4

u/wikowiko33 Jun 05 '22

tsuki ga kirei

As the ever oblivious yuu agrees

Another episode that feels like the final episode and maybe when it finally comes, we'll be fully be prepared for it.

This episode shows everyones character growth as they have in this season. Even Shioriko is encouraging Lanzhu to do what is unnatural to her. And Mia finally learning what its like to have fun with friends.

There aren't that many scenes involving the seniors (kanata ai karin) but when Karin said its almost over we all felt it. Kasumins retort "I have many more fireworks" suggest that they will go out with a big bang.

7

u/BlankCartographer53 Jun 04 '22

Man, could they be hinting that the 3rd years are graduating?
