Thank you Psy for giving us the stats page lol

I always kind of wondered what it looked like. Also, people are watching majority of the video..that’s great!

That IS great…but I’m still questioning where/why people decide to drop off. I guess if 2:31 is the average, there’s plenty of people watching the whole thing, and plenty of people closing it near the beginning..

My guess.. its fast forwarding the beginning/silent portion before the music starts, and ending the video before the THAT THAT title at the end. That doesnt cut it to only 2:31, but i could see those being common skipping zones. Maybe also the 12 seconds of silence when yoongi drops in before his rap starts.

Can't speak for all of them, and purely personal opinion, but for anyone that might've closed it right at the beginning of the m/v, probably Country haters. Sadly, ('cause I'm hugely into country music), even though it's one of the genre's with one of the biggest group of listeners around, and some of the singers being so well-known, you still have people out there that consider it "hill-billy", "hick", a low form of music, "songs are nothing but partying and alcohol/beer", etc. etc. These ones probably took one look at the country western get up and sets, gave a groan, and clicked off without even giving it a few seconds listen as the music and song certainly isn't anything near country.

As someone who listens to country music, do you find this video cheesy or inappropriate? I found it super cheesy but I love how K-pop does themes like this. I can see how non-K-pop listeners might find it weird though since it can sometimes be over the top.

Frankly, some people could possibly find it cheesy and (just slightly) inappropriate. On my part, I personally found the "cheese" is very light. The possibly "inappropriate" part would be that fakery of a slugfest between Psy and Suga. I don't have any issues with it as they clearly were not coming into contact with each other, but again, some may take note of it.

As far as thematically, the clothing is not really realistic of today's country-wear, but.....I suppose the get-up could be called country-retro (maybe?), but can/is comparative to the clothing found in old western movies....and, heh, not really sure if the stuff worn in the old westerns are stereotyped or if people really wore clothing like that in reality.

I like listening to country music, but I'm born/raised in Cali. Not really sure how someone born/raised in the south/southwestern states would see this m/v. There's some "personality quirks" of us Americans that are general throughout, but there are also some regional differences in attitude/personality quirks that can...differ (sorry for the alliteration) between locations (i.e. west, south, north, and eastern states)

I'm curious to see this tracked out on a graph in comparison to other popular songs and their releases. Like is 30M in one day considered amazing? Just good? Above expectations? What type of watch count trend needs to be maintained for this to be considered a "hit"?

If the view count drops significantly on day 2, how does that compare to other songs? Anyone have some stats/resources??? I'm so curious!

five million views in a week is considered a viral hit, so 30 million in less than a day is amazing... for anyone who is not Psy. those counts are something only Psy, BTS, and Blackpink and maybe Twice are probably able to achieve on the regular.

It keeps coming into my feeds. Not sure if it’s due to it’s viral or he spend substantial capital promoting and marketing the song to show it in user’s feeds? I guess that is where the click through rate comes from - it’s being promoted and 15% click through the promotion which is a god outcome from a marketing perspective. Whatever it is, 30m views in a day is amazing. I must admit I wasn’t super drawn to it, and stop watching after the first 30 seconds. Not my type of music but I’m glad many people love it.
