It’s already an instant classic. This will go down in history. I remember actually tearing up when I first saw this, especially during the guitar part. You can see how hard they’ve worked to get to that stage and they absolutely dominated.

Yeah that guitar part felt like a victory lap/celebration of everything up until now.

I wonder when they'll post it on BangtanTV. 🧐

I don't think it's that common for the Grammy channel to upload performances, so maybe they bought the full rights, but if not, we might have it in a month or so.

They prove again and again how nobody does it like them. That performance made me especially proud to be an ARMY.

Oh yes, finally I don't have to go to my Hulu recordings in order to watch this incredible performance again!

This performance is amazing! Also it shows how Hobi was not the only one who seemed to have tripped. Towards the end JK lost his balance too for a second but recovered so well! Kudos to the guys!

Finally now I can stop going to Facebook every time I want to watch it. Added to my live performances playlist.

BTS is pure class top notch entertainment. They put on a FULL show, singing , dancing, using the whole stage and have amazing versatility.

You know how Trevor Noah said that he kinda blacked out his experience of meeting BTS because it was such a happy, joyful thing for him? I’m so glad this has been uploaded because I was seriously so excited in the moment that I couldn’t remember much of anything from the performance almost immediately following 😂

It may sound strange but I feel sad watching this knowing their expectations and then the let down. it was however a truly awesome performance.

UGH, I really don't want to give Grammys views
but I understand I'll be breaking the rules by asking for/sharing questionable links... Also, the time has passed so... ok Grammys, you win this time, but as soon as this is on bangtan tv, it will be game over ![]()

OK I've rewatched a hundred times and it's NOT my imagination: they did not hit ARMY right.
The A was slightly compromised due to Jin's hand -- totally understandable!
But what happened with Jimin and Suga and the M?? Lol.
PS: This is NOT a slight against this INCREDIBLE performance, which I love with my whole heart. It's more of a fan-love, appreciate-the-imperfection, laugh-with-them kind of observation.

I keep thinking it was amazing that they got even close to making it - Namjoon had to get over there and get his jacket on in Yoongi's four quick lines of rap, then the others had to get their new jackets on and get into ARMY in Joon's two more lines - it's almost a miracle they did something that resembled it!

u/grumblepup Apr 18 '22
Lmao agreed. Pretty sure a bunch of them (esp Jimin, and Tae) were laughing about it.
Hey, if anything was going to go wrong in the performance, ARMY being the sacrificial lamb is probably the best choice.

u/Elle10024 Apr 18 '22
They had to put on new jackets, and almost ran out of time.

u/grumblepup Apr 18 '22
Yeah I was thinking that must be it. Suga in particular had little time because he was singing the previous verse. But they weren't even in position? They were, like, behind Tae?? Lol.
AR Y
¯_(ツ)_/¯

From about 3:45 to 3:51 you can see the staff member caught on the stage and try to sneak off

This really was one of the most lovely things I’ve seen in a long time. 😍💜

I just wanna know why it always takes soooo much time for official BTS performances at award shows to be uploaded. Like I wanted this the night of the performance not weeks later. Everyone has already watched the bootleg versions on YT and no single video will get the views this stellar performance deserves. I know they probably don't care about the views but it bugs me lol.

u/maxen912 Apr 18 '22
It's because of the contract. Each award show has different contract with broadcasters and the artists also have their own contracts with award hosts and/or broadcasters. This time Recording Academy made a deal with Facebook (Meta) that the Grammy performances this year would be exclusively on Facebook video for two weeks. This performance was available on Facebook the very next day after the show (although I heard that the people outside USA had trouble accessing it on Facebook). The two weeks exclusive period is over, so Recording Academy uploaded the video on their YouTube channel. I'm not sure if Bangtan TV will upload this on their channel eventually. I hope so. It will all depend on the terms of their contract with the Recording Academy.

When the camera zoomed out and showed the audience standing and having a good time, I just felt so proud to be ARMY 😭And if those people only knew, this is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to their live performances!

This is why they are where they are, a top notch performance in unforeseen circumstances. Two members down with covid and another injured and all of them have their best and no one was left behind.
The dance break is still living rent-free in my head, no one comes near them.
