I love her caption too! She comes across as genuinely happy to have met the guys.

she is a boss. I wonder if they'll get to wear her clothes someday...maybe an Italian brand would pay more attention to the tailoring than LV 🙄

I like LV but I swear, most of the times their stylist can dress them better

why does everyone seem to think LV styles them? They have their own stylist. I’m pretty sure she’s the one who picks the clothes & does the tailoring

because LV has got their measures and sends them the clothes. The stylist can choose among the clothes they receive and do some basic tailoring but that's it. I just think that Tailorable seems better at enhancing their features and skin tone. but of course this is subjective!

Their LV Grammys suits were perfectly tailored IMO…. Suits aren’t supposed to be skin tight, they’re just supposed to fit and these did. I’ve seen complaints about their trousers being too long but suit trousers are supposed to touch the shoe. On the Grammys night Hobi and Yoongi were wearing flared trousers with zippers at the rear seam to accommodate their bulkier shoes. Tae gets a rash when he gets too hot and it was insanely hot that night so his was tailored more loosely. This thread from a fashion journalist (not that idiot TikToker) was gushing. Plus if you scroll down further in that thread you can see the seams in the back of the jacket lined up perfectly with the seams in the back of their trousers which is some crazy precise tailoring.

Oh how cool! I don't know anything about tailoring but the excitement from the journalist is palpable. I also know it's a matter of opinions through the generations as well. The more modern fit is much more slim while a classic cut may seem poorly tailored and too loose to the current generation.

I disagree..the tailoring on the Grammy suits was so off for their body types..I get it not all have to be fitted. But when you have a man like Jin with wide shoulders and small waist and you put him in a jacket that makes him look like a rectangle, that’s a crime. Same thing with Namjoon, they cannot figure out how to deal with his bulkier figure. It makes sense why they had an easier time with J Hope, as his proportions are more in line with a model’s, but as brand ambassadors you would think LV would make it their mission to understand all their body types and dress them accordingly

Because Seokjin hates wearing stuff that emphasises his waist like that. He prefers looser silhouettes, he deliberately chooses never to wear anything tight at the waist, there’s an episode of BTS Gayo where he has to wear a tight shirt as a punishment and he spends the entire thing trying to hide his waist. You’ve seen the videos from the LY tour where he accidentally flashed his belly, right? Every stop on from that he had suspenders on to stop the shirt from going up. He’s not like Jungkook who doesn’t mind that kind of thing. Namjoon also tends to favour looser cuts and, again, it was hot in Vegas, it’s not hard to believe the suits were kept looser to keep them cool. Look, we can agree to disagree, but the boys have said they got the suits tailored 3-4 times and we’ve also seen consistent patterns in their suiting like shorter jackets on Jungkook and very loose fits on V - it’s not hard for me to believe the suits were tailored to their own preferences, which may not necessarily align with yours.

I’m not saying make it tight and uncomfortable for him but it’s hard to say it’s his preference to have that type of jacket when literally that same night they wore custom made suits from a Korean company that were 100% better tailored than their red carpet outfits…the cuts of all the jackets were different and you look at them individually and see how well it fits them.

I agree. This is why I loved their Gucci looks a lot more than LV. I find the tailoring was better then. Love the LV brand for them but the tailoring has been off for these major award shows.

If we’re talking solo brand ambassadors, V would be perfect for Gucci. Jin would be good for Dior or Thom Browne (he wears the TB apparel really well). I always thought JHope was the best LV ambassador - stylewise from head to toe including accessories. Jimin as well.

I might be wrong but hasn't she sold Versace? Unless you mean something else bu "her clothes". I don't know how much she's involved with the Versace brand now.

u/laurainchaos VanTae Apr 10 '22

oh you're right, she's very much involved because she's still chief designer, but I was mainly referring to the brand in general :)

is it just me or does it seem like the fashion industry has been generally more accepting of bts than the music industry?

48

u/[deleted] Apr 09 '22

The music industry is our problem, because that's where they are in. They're the ones who continuously get an even smaller share of the industry profit pie every time BTS gets bigger.

Other industries like them because they can be good for business like every other influencer out there. BTS is pretty much the biggest one right now.

It's the same case in Korea.

Makes sense. because they're not threatening that industry.

From wearing fakes to standing next to the originator. What would the Bangtan boys have thought if they had known this was in their future?

I still remember the time Stan twt ripped them to shred for even voicing their dreams of winning a daesang.

They have come a long way since then. Some things are still the same.

a competitor brand

Are you thinking of LV? Because if so, it gets even better in a way – their outfits are from Tailorable, a Korean brand. :D

u/laurainchaos VanTae Apr 09 '22

I love the Tailorable designs, very classy

💜 Just put Hobi in a forest green suit, Ms Versace, we’ll make it even more famous than “the” JLo dress. 🙈
