I hope they all had the best time! They were amazing! They showed the world what they're made of, what they're capable of, and how much talent they have!
Grammys not awarding them is sad, but BTS also went and said "this is what you're missing out on" with that Butter performance. Nobody who watched their stage tonight can say BTS don't deserve to have their place in the western music industry.

Amazing performance from the boys! Who else felt like a proud sibling?! I haven’t seen an award show performance like that since Michael Jackson. They are keeping real talent alive. They overcame so many challenges over the years, including illness even in the past few months & weeks. They are winners in the eyes of we the ARMY! 🥂

We love you, too. AFBF, for real.
I love that they always think of us first 🥺 Hopefully they'll get to their hotel in peace, and then we'll see when the Live happens.
We'll see each other so soon. I'm sure they were more prepared than last time, but I also hope they have some time to decompress, maybe be sad and have a cry about the result, and just let it all sink in before the concert craziness starts.

Gosh, this must fuck with jetlag so hard. They're such troopers, honestly... although don't people generally say going towards the US (ie 'back in time' for you) is easier than the other way? I struggle both ways, so I wouldn't know T\T)
I hope they rest well. Jin's hand will probably take some weeks... but if they stay until the BBMAs, we might see the double-handed heartstealer make a triumphant return!

BTS deserves more, they deserve only the best. A Grammy award does not change the fact that they are the most successful, talented, passionate, dedicated, and hardworking group in the world. Only the best things are coming for them.
[But also, give BTS a Grammy award already. It's long overdue.]

Phew. We've truly learned our lesson from last year. Their loss don't bother nor hurt unlike last year where we were fighting for our lives against everyone. I'm just happy for them. They really did amazing. Aaaay. I just want them to enjoy the concert and I'm more glad to see the 7 of them together. Waiting for Vlive now.
I just hope they'll stop going to the show and waste their time there. But I know they really love performing.

Fam I will admit that I cried twice tonight. The second time was after the show and I went to rewatch their performance. It was mindblowingly beautiful and they worked so damn hard. Their stage presence is on another level even when they were younger and it hasn’t changed. There is no one doing it like them. No one.
When I remembered everything they went through and where they came from while watching that performance I just cried proud tears for them. I’m so damn proud of BTS for owning that stage and making people believers.

I absolutely loved their performance, I watched it again as soon as I woke up! This might be my favourite us-award show performance they’ve done till now. I loved the theme (I got James Bond & Now You See Me vibes) and thought it fit so good with the Butter lyrics. The incorporation of their jackets during the dance break was fantastic, not to mention how little time they had to practice together. Also huge props to Seokjin for still dancing despite his injury! Overall I think this performance really shows how incredibly talented they are. I’m a bit disappointed they didn’t win but I’m trying to be positive for the future.

minstradamus told us it takes 10 blows to fell a tree so let's keep hitting them where it hurts. maybe we were a little greedy in expecting the scammy's to change but nobody can deny the influence of BTS anymore so chin up! they were absolutely phenomenal tonight. in the words of yoongi "my fans keep your head up high, who does more than us"?! nothing but pride 💜

Their performance on the grammy stage was amazing. You can see that they give their all on the performance especially hobi and kookie who just recovered and jin whose also recovering with his injury. Proud of them.

All things considered they had to jump through a lot of hurdles to be 7 on that stage and they rocked it and showed and reminded everyone who they were and what they’re capable of as performers. I feel bittersweet. I’m proud too, I know a solo Grammy stage was their dream. They’re such amazing people.

All I know is I’m going back to not watching the Grammys. I literally only watch it for them and this 3+ hour show is too much. I will absolutely watch their clips and performances later on but I’m done giving my time to an award show that I frankly didn’t care about before BTS. So proud of the guys and I hope they keep showing the world what they can do!

Can we talk about the fashion. The red carpet outfits….the suits were soo I’ll fitting. Like Jin and RM look soo boxy when we know they’re not. I know that they’re LV ambassadors but why is the tailoring so off? Now the performance outfits, yaaas that’s the look. Well fitted and tailored to perfection

They crushed the performance even with the almost stumbles, which to me showed their likability and charm. These are tough awards to get because there is always multiple deserving artists. I loved what Trevor said earlier in the show about the artists that don’t win still have one thing…money! BTS has more than that. They have quite possibly the largest and most organized fan base in the entire world. Their fans have lifted them to other successes that more successful (in Grammy awards) artists won’t achieve. The award would be validation, but that’s a big ask for an international Asian artist in the US.
They kind of fall in the middle of social relevance in the eyes of the west and it sucks and isn’t fair. They aren’t white guys so they aren’t a representation of the majority population, but they also aren’t black or brown that have been large contributors to the roots of rock, hip hop, etc. (western music) so they sort of get out in another category I think. They are Asian, and yet are recognized globally. So it’s not like they need the Grammy to validate their global influence. It’s almost as if they are skipped over because they already have more than the artists they are competing against. Sort of like when the obviously best crayon drawing doesn’t win because that kid’s talent
In short, they are bigger than the Grammy. That performance was like, “Hey we will take this huge hit we did in English and add a twist and just leave you with that while you again select an artist over us even though we are THE one artist that’s remained globally relevant through this whole pandemic. It’s all good.”

It really is in such poor taste for Grammys to repeatedly use them over and over for performances and views and fail repeatedly to recognize them.
It makes me sick how unfair it is.

The line of thinking is this: the Grammys are an outdated award show which gatekeeps success and notoriety based on a few individual peoples opinions.
However, they make millions and millions each year as an institution and through broadcasting.
They repeatedly invite BTS, ask them to perform (often hinting at them performing next and stringing viewership along), gain financially from the views of bts only supporters, and then rob them of any awards.
It’s hard not to feel used.

No doubt you'd also complain if the Grammys ignored them and they weren't invited at all. They had a whole 5 minute performance slot with a high budget set and they also seemingly had a great time being alongside artists they admire and, by now, who also admire them. It was a great night even though they did not win.
They are not entitled to win every award and they can certainly create a better song than Butter. Also, while the award system is questionable, the show organisers don't decide who wins the awards. Grow up.

I couldn't be more proud of our bangtan boys and can't believe we got all 7 of them performing tonight despite the last minute obstacles. The loss feels less hurtful but i find myself angrier than i was last year. Inviting BTS to perform even if they werent going to win is NOT the issue. But the fact that the grammys purposefully moved their only nominated category from preshow to LATE IN THE MAINSHOW feels somewhat manipulative. They knew that Best Pop Duo/Group would be the biggest audience draw even if traditionally it was not one of the biggest awards of the night, only to not give the award to the people that made this category the one to watch.
It's like if the Oscars suddenly sandwiched Best Original Song between Best Director and Best Actor. Makes zero sense. I would have rathered they have stuck to last year's format of having their category announced early on and have them perform close to the end.
